the subject is clear. Apple does not sell as expected, has changed some components to lower costs and get the maximum possible benefit of the units that will come (from December to January) and are already thinking about the next phones, and by June they will stop making the current X, for Focus on the new ones.

Is your problem the same as that?

The cheap component devices still overheat like crazy, when charges with the 29W, in comparison to the good ones. There’s something with the hardware.... even tho they patched part of it with software.
Weird thing is this is still NOT in the official release logs of the beta.
[doublepost=1520464688][/doublepost]That’s why I’m obsessed with getting a unit that doesn’t crackle on 11.2.6 cuz otherwise it’ll overheat more than other phones anyways.
[doublepost=1520464727][/doublepost]And I just wanna add that the fact that this has been there for five months is a little. Yah know. Illegal.
[doublepost=1520464869][/doublepost]I meant 5 months.

I can say that this beta has reduced my battery life a good bit.

I used to get over an hour of usage per 10%. Last three charges on this beta I am well under that. Right now 1 hour of usage on 15% of use.

I would speculate it wasn’t a safe or effective workaround anyways.
So have they increased power? Was the clipping interference from insufficient power?

One of the best things about this 8 Plus is the battery. It’s beta so it could get worked out.

We will see.

Also, it does seem like the affected games aren’t as loud.
[doublepost=1520471981][/doublepost]I’m just going to hang on for 8 months and go Pixel 3 or iPhone XI Plus.

It to me sounds like there’s no bass anywhere. That might be how they worked around it. Which is so evil.
[doublepost=1520475792][/doublepost]The bass is capped at around 50%. We’re still not getting the same qualitied phone some other lucky users got. And that’s so evil.
[doublepost=1520475847][/doublepost]Besides the battery life now sucks... the root cause is hardware. It’s hardware. And if they don’t solve that, we’ll end up with a worse device.
I’m ready to buy an android if they don’t fully resolve this by the release of 11.3.

I don’t notice any huge difference in battery life on the 11.3 beta 4...still great on my 8 Plus. Speakers sound great as well.

Interesting. Looks like it’s behavinggn differently on different people’s phones.

I’m no expert on technology and hardware though haha...I’m at 67 percent battery with 4 hours and 44 minutes of usage today.
[doublepost=1520478993][/doublepost]Hopefully since they recognized the speaker clipping issue, they will continue to fix and optimize the problem for 11.3.

My replacement phone has a great screen, but the 80%+ crackling as well.

To be honest, I never tested my old X on this issue, but the crackling comes from both speakers during piano music. However; don't all speakers crackle and distort at 100%? 80% always has been the sweetspot for loudness and quality in my opinion.

Edit: This phone is way louder than my previous X though, which was already quite loud. Around 70 percent is as loud as the previous one went. Just took a shower and could clearly hear the songs instead of having to focus.

The beta 4 definitely sounds like they lowered the volume or something. It sounds weird to me.

Did you notice if the two speakers were down or just the top speaker?
I noticed the btm speaker a tiny bit.
Maybe it’s both.
The battery does suck tho.

If you have the continuous buzzing issue, plz go and get a replacement.
[doublepost=1520535689][/doublepost]I say that because replacement will FOR SURE fix the buzzing.
