I am going through the same issue. I placed the order through Apple at 3:01 EST, and received an error that they couldn't communicate with the ATT servers and that my phone is on hold, and I'd receive an email to finish the order. Received the email at about 6 am est, and the "Complete my order now" button was a dead link. I called Apple, they said that it's down and to try back. They kept assuring me that as long as I complete the order within 24 hours, it'll be delivered Nov 3. I even have it in writing from the first Apple rep I worked with.

I tried 5 times an hour, and was finally able to complete the order at about 6 pm est. I had a Nov 3 delivery date up until sometime between 6 pm and 10 pm last night when I checked it last. At 10 pm when I checked it again, it had been pushed back to nov 17-24. Called Apple, they said ATT put a block on upgrading that line and to call them. Called ATT, there's no block, it's 100% eligible to be updated, and no verification is needed. Have that in writing too. Called Apple back, and Destiny said, "why didn't you just order through ATTs website instead of ours?" after I told her how frustrated I was with this whole situation. Then she transferred me to the iMac dept. I sent Tim Cook an email and will let you know if I ever hear back. Not holding my breath on that one.

As of 8 am 11/1, still have delivery date of nov 17-24. Meanwhile, I have friends on ATT who didn't do the upgrade program who's phones had already shipped out, and they had all the same issues I did initially. I think Apple jumped the gun about the true number of phones they had available for the nov 3 delivery date.

I feel your pain. This situation is a complete bummer, compounded by the fact that others are get pushed to earlier delivery dates. Let me know how it goes, and I'll keep bugging both Apple and AT&T too.

I think I'm in exactly the same boat. My previous iPhone 6 has been paid off and upgrade eligible for a year. I placed my order through the Apple Store app at 3:01am, received a Nov. 3 delivery date, and it stayed Nov. 3 until late last night when it switched to Nov. 17-24. I chatted online with Apple who said it was AT&T's issue, and when I called them they saw no issues at all on my account other than that the upgrade eligibility was released last night. So it's definitely an AT&T system issue where a very small number of orders were not processed correctly at launch.

I have a request for a supervisor to get back to me, but I don't think there's any chance I'll be getting my phone Friday. I'd like to complain and see where it can get me, but I don't think there's anything either Apple or AT&T can do to get me the phone earlier. Outside of working a miracle and making my phone come faster, I don't know what else I could even ask them to do.

These Apple supervisors conveniently only available after launch date... Maybe we will get a freebee or something

I would just cancel my order at this point. It's not worth it anymore. Just wait til next year.

Haha. The hype will be gone for me by the 17th so maybe youre onto something.

I'm trying to be! I have a delivery date of Nov 3, but it has not shipped yet via standard shipping... I am concerned myself whether my actual delivery date will be pushed back.
I'd give Apple a call. Some have suggested on the forums that some phones will ship from the US but I would still call to make sure there are no issues. Some of us had issues and we got no notification from anyone that anything was wrong.

Give them a call. They are not as busy as last week. You'll get right through. 🙂

According to UPS, mine is at the airport in Hong Kong at this moment, and I still have a Nov 3 delivery date despite saying "Preparing for Shipment".

I gave them a call last night, but basically nothing was possible without a supervisor. Also, the only way to speak to s supervisor is to do a call back which could take three days.

I still have a status of "preparing for shipping" for 11/3 with no updates on tracking or info.

Apple did officially charge my card on 10/30 though so thats a good sign....right?!?!

Help qualm my worry!!!

This is a new one, I've never heard of orders being pushed back, only forwards. If it were me I would definitely not let Apple off the hook for this one since your confirmation email said you'd get it by Friday.

Yeah, I will definitely hold them to something. But what am I supposed to do if they just keep saying they can't do anything.

I would be a little worried, but I think most of issues have been due to carrier communication problems. There is no harm in calling them though.

Apple Executive Relations have been great to me in the past. Last year when my jet black iPhone 7+ was pushed back they sent me a black lightning dock as an apology. They also sent a family member a $200 pair of headphones because their Apple Watch shipment was delayed in 2015 when the Apple Watch was first announced. They may not be able to get your device to you sooner, but for their slip up they may offer you something to appease you.

I just got off the phone with AT&T customer retention. They called a local AT&T store to see if they could reserve one for me for launch day so I could pick one up in person, and the store manager said that none of the AT&T stores in my area are getting iPhone X's.

How do you get in touch with Apple Executive Relations?

I guess the issue with ATT that is being mentioned is that yes I am with ATT but I bought it off contract and full price, not an upgrade. I would think that would minimize this but I may be wrong.

I cant see them charging me now if my delivery got pushed back 2 weeks or so. That doesnt seem right.

Has anyone received a call back from an Apple supervisor? Or has anyone had any resolution with this issue?

Same here, but I've been checking on UPS using my order number. Try inputting your order number under reference tracking and remove the last two characters. Mine was in Zhengzhou since the 29th, and just departed Hong Kong International this morning. UPS is still showing a delivery date of the 3rd.

Did it depart from Hong Kong yet? Mine arrived there late last night and departed early this morning HK time. I’m assuming it’s on its way to Alaska now and then to the US.

I just realized due to a tip in this thread that it was even where it was as I had no idea where it was in the tracking scheme of things.

Just left Hong Kong this morning!!!!

Freak out meter rising to 8!!

I wonder if anybody here didn't immediately recheck the Apple Store/UPS sites/apps after reading the OP's post to confirm their date was not changed. I sure did.

I'm guessing our phones are on this flight:

CPA3280 B748 Hong Kong - Departed:
Thu 03:02AM HKT, Wed 3:02PM EST --> Arrives: Anchorage Intl (PANC) Wed 07:28PM AKDT, Wed 11:28 PM EST.

That very same flight has a connection to Louisville, Kentucky, where the UPS facility is located. The connection flight is scheduled to arrive at 3:20 AM EST on Thursday, and at your doorstep on Friday!

You can check the status of UPS flights departing from Hong Kong International here: https://flightaware.com/live/airport/VHHH/departures

Haha me too! I knew mine had shipped even despite the Apple site still saying "preparing to ship" because I've been tracking it through MyUPS but still I checked on it again to make sure everything was okay!
So far even though the Apple website doesn't list my phone as shipped, UPS says differently!

"Last Location: Departed - Anchorage, AK, United States, Tuesday, 10/31/2017"

And still on course for an 11/3 delivery so far.
