I was running the Apple Store app on my iPad Mini 2 next to my iPhone 5 and clicking the app, double-clicking, removing and then opening at the same time on both devices, so that when I clicked open on one, I closed on the other device.

The app on my iPad went 'Live' around 8:04am UK time for me personally, and the iPhone didn't go live as I clicked on it a couple of seconds later, so I decided to go ahead with the iPad being my main device for purchasing. My order was in by 8:05am.

I have a confirmation email confirming delivery as next Friday - hope everything goes to plan. My iPhone 5 doesn't last very long now - around 6-7 hours under usual use, so I'm super pleased to have the 256GB silver coming next Friday - there are literally so many features on this phone that I'll have never had before. It's like a 5 year upgrade!

I feel for those who were unable to get online to purchase their iPhones. It's such a shame that so many people try to buy and re-sell, or that so many people want a phone from a company that cannot meet demand. I know in a worldly sense, this is a 1st world problem for sure, but it can be really annoying when you've worked really hard to save up for something and then you're not able to purchase it because of an app not working as smoothly as it should have done. Hope your delivery times become shorter and you get it sooner than expected.

yes took me 12 minutes to be let in on the app and got my pre approval order finished but I am now in the 2-3 week window of November 14-24. I am beginning to wonder if in future the IUP program does that much for me. we will see next fall at least I will have a X before end of month

Verizon let me order before 2 AM (central time). I logged in at 1:55 AM and it already let me pre-order, and was done by 1:58. Super seamless. It claims I'll get my 256GB Silver on 11/3.

Now it's dropped to 12/1 for the expected delivery date.

So I'm guessing everyone's doing the Apple upgrade program and nobody's doing a direct carrier upgrade???

Of course it does say "Shipping dates are estimates." So.... here's hoping!

Anyone NOT received their confirmation email yet? Placed ordered for pickup and was able to select a time and complete order. Haven’t received email and nothing in order history.

I got two orders in. I'm going to sell whichever one arrives first on eBay along with my 7 Plus 256g Black and try to recover the cost of this phone.

#1 - Apple Store 256gb Grey TMobile, 2-3week delivery.
#2 - TMobile Store 256gb Grey, delivery 11/3.

Strangely enough the iPhone X wouldn't show up on either the T-Mo site, or the app for me. I called them @ 1:30PST and still ended up with delivery on the 3rd (64gb Space Grey).

For me Apple totally let me down tonight.

It was at least 10 minutes past midnight before I could even access the site, I could get on with a browser but not Apple’s own app. I put two phones in the cart (one for me, one for my wife, both on the same AT&T account). When I go to check out it tells me I am not allowed to order two phones in one transaction, even though it let me put them in the cart.

So I deleted one, went to check out and got a weird server error when it tried to log me in.

Keeping in mind this was a straight up no-contract full pay, this should not have been so difficult.

I tried Best Buy, and they let me order two phones with a promise of delivery on launch day. With the added advantage of earning Best Buy reward points. The last two cycles I never had these issues with Apple. Time will tell if Best Buy can deliver as promised.

As for AT&T, in typical phone company style, their website put me ‘on hold’ for a twenty minute wait for the right to order my phones. By that time Apple had already failed, and I already had order confirmation from Best Buy.

My credit card declined using Apple Pay (fraud protection), but I got a confirmation email from Apple. I called the CC company and they lifted the block, but told me to have the merchant re-process the transaction. Will Apply try to re-run the charge when shipping or did this pre-order essentially not go through at all?

Wow... Here in SF Bay area.. Apple store down until 12:12, AT&T site let me in at 12:08 and then said, "sorry! We lost your place!" and several error codes.. Apple finally let me get one and then said it couldn't connect with AT&T to confirm my info with them, so it gave me a 'reservation number'.. WTF? Crazy.. I can't believe how frigging hard that was.. I apparently have a 64gb black coming from AT&T on Nov 3rd, but from the history of others, not sure if that will be reality. Hope so! That was too much..

My order has vanished and BarclayCard decided to decline the transaction for some reason. I guess this means I'm going to be getting an iPhone X next year now. My pre-order was for shipping on Friday 3rd Nov too. :(
Happened me too but still says processing in the Apple store. Hopefully apple will just retry the card

Did anyone pre order through best buy?

I managed to get a 64Gb space gray at 415 eastern for a Nov 3 delivery. I also have a 2nd week of December delivery on a 64Gb silver from Apple which I’ll cancel once I get the one from Best Buy. I did all this after getting the reservation message from Apple.

had no luck with apple app and by time I got on it it wasn't taking anymore IUP orders

luckily I ordered with EE and will get some free xbeats headphones

I ordered my 256/Gray on Sprint, no real problem. Delivery the 3rd, they say.
And then I tried to add my wife's phone. Couldn't confirm the carrier (also Sprint). And again failed. So I just went ahead and placed my order.

Then went back to get the second phone. And hour later and Sprint still can't ***** confirm that sht. Just awful. Has *any* been able to get confirmation on a Sprint phone in since about 12:05am PDT?

I had this exact experience with Sprint. I had my 256gb Silver ordered for November 3 pickup by 2:15pm CT, but I've been struggling for and hour and a half to get my wife's phone, and I still don't have any confirmation for the second phone. I'm afraid one of us will be getting our phone months after the other.

Got mine in at 3:08a EST; Apple App silver 256gb ATT. Says delivery by Nov. 3 woohoo!! Hopefully that won't slip, so far it hasn't.

Anyone know when Apple actually charges your card? I paid via Apple Pay.

I was a bit sneaky - Got one in UK 64gb Space grey unlocked

2-3weeks delivery which is fine as I am holiday next 2 weeks

I was on the app as soon as it came back up... none available for pickup!

BUT I’m actually on the upgrade programme... and have reserved one too - just says delivery to store before 2nd December (which is fine - holiday) and we’ll notify you to book a slot - first time I did this 10 mins earlier I could have picked up on 3rd-8th with all slots available. Still no use to me as it didn’t have 10th onwards when I am back.

I was advised to do this In store (if I could afford to) - buy outright.. then bring it in for a refund and swap it to my upgrade programme... in case for any reason time slips massively.

So if my reserved upgrade programme one comes in by the time I am back I may end up with a spare!

When it ships/before leaving warehouse normally.

The Apple Store app was non-functional and the online Apple Store website was still just as useless to me a few minutes after 3 am EST. But thanks to macrumors.com, when I clicked on the link to Apple's online store listed in this article, I was able to efficiently if not effortlessly place my order within minutes (@3:15 am EST) for the 256 GB iPhone X with Apple Care with an estimated delivery range listed of Nov 17 - 24 consistent with a previous screen indicating it "Ships: 2-3 weeks".

Pretty much the same thing here. At 12:00am on the ATT site got in "line" with 4 min wait. Once it got to 0, site crashed. Ugh. Apple Store in browser and on iPad was not coming up. Finally got into the Apple Store but by then (around 12:10am) ship time had slipped to 2-3 weeks.

Then, about 40 mins later the AT&T site finally let me in and was showing an estimated ship dat of Nov 2 to Nov 10. Strangely, the second tab I opened when the first attempt bombed out also glitched but the original tab just "magically" started working again. Maybe it saved my place somehow (there was some sort of number hash in the URL that I assume was my place in the queue)? So I ordered the phone AGAIN. Well, after staying up way too late while waiting for an AT&T CS rep to talk to about this (who was far too cheery for this late at night/morning...probably was a bot), I was assured that the Nov 2 to Nov 10 ship date is accurate. So we shall see. Since the Apple Order won't ship for at least another couple of weeks, I guess I have time to figure out which order needs to get canceled.

Oddly enough, the taxes for the Apple order were about $10 more than the AT&T order and while Apple made me pay for them up front, AT&T just processed the order with no up front payment of the taxes (I am assuming they will bill me on my next phone bill, although when I ordered by Wife's iPhone 8, I had to pay at the time of the order). And yes, I verified that I was getting the right phone capacity (the AT&T Next Monthly Payment amounts were the exact same for both orders). So we shall see if I get a launch day phone or not.

Man...I have one confirmed to pickup but no email. When i look at upgrade eligibility it says it's in progress...

So my 12:02 pst order at Apple ships nov 13-20 but on a whim at 1:30 pst I logged into att premiere and ordered the same phone, silver 256gb X but att has it delivering on nov 3. I’ll be amazed.

It seems all those who went through ApplePay or iUP have priority.

All my colleagues who ordered through them have already got their confirmation emails, whilst those of us who went through the website are still yet to get any information.

Yeah, it was lame. I kept refreshing for 13 minutes here on the East Coast (US). I finally gave up, spoofed my IP to represent a West Coast (US) IP and the site came right up. I placed my order (which was now on backorder due to preferential treatment of West Coast buyers).
How did you do that? (spoof your IP)
