I returned my Apple Watch Series 3 42mm GPS and my iPad (2017). As to the former I felt like it was nice to have it but it really didn't have any significant impact on my daily life/routines that made it worth it. Actually it was kind of annoying to have it on my wrist vibrating or emitting a sound every time I got notifications. It was funny to call Siri on the Watch but most - if not all - of the times I had my iPhone nearby so the Watch ended up being just an appendix. As to the latter, I felt like it was somewhere between my iPhone and iMac experience, hence useful to use when I was not at my desk but rather chilling on the sofa/bed, commuting, at the cafe, etc. The problem with it was... It felt too cheap (the plastic-y display, the lack of Apple Pencil support, the outdated front camera and so forth). Anyway, I am now not sure whether I should buy an iPad Pro and have all that there is to have currently on an iPad or an iPhone X to get rid of the cheap and outdated iPhone SE I've been using lately even though it's satisfactory in most aspects (except for the front camera, the display - kind of has the same feeling to it than that of the the iPad above and I find 4'' too tiny). Which one of those should I pick (or would you pick if you were me considering what I've just said)?

Just wait until September and see if an iPhone X Plus is announced.

In the middle of several books.
    1) Do you need a new phone? If so, how would it benefit you over what you have now?
    2) Do you need an iPad Pro? In what ways would it be used, that cannot be done on a new phone or current Mac?
    3) if you get a new device, how long will you be keeping it?
    4) Can you afford a new device?

I would get the iPad Pro with pencil, but wait for new models to actually ship. I do a lot of chillin with mine couch, easy chair. And I previously had the plain iPad 9.7” which didn’t have ✏️.. also Mini 4 before that.

Some apps are better and made for 10.5” iPad too. And don’t do as well on an iPhone X or Note 8 etc.

I got mine from Apple Store Refurbished units.

I would definitely not buy an iPad Pro right now, there’s most likely gonna be a major refresh announced in June.

You make a great point. If somebody’s interested in Face ID and how it’s going to be incorporating to the iPad, I would wait at this point, because it’s likely going to be announced somewhere around the fall 2018. The only reason I say the fall, is because last year at this time during WWDC 2017, the iPad Pro’s were refreshed. Either way, the way the iPad user interface is set up, gesture controls and Face ID are almost guaranteed for the future.

I've made a decision. I'm going for the iPad Pro, yes I've heard about the rumors of refreshment or new ones being announced at the WWDC but what could that be? Introducing FaceID on the iPads? Going bezel-less? I don't find any of that very exciting tbh. I'll leave a new iPhone for September-November, I think I can bear the SE for a little longer and I'm hoping even if unrealistically that Apple's new iPhones are notch-free and/or have TouchID incorporated under the display.

Good choice. The SE will be a good compliment to your IPP.

I went through a similar dilemma last summer. I was going back and forth between upgrading my iPhone 5S or getting an iPad. I decided to keep my 5S and get the iPad Pro, which I've had for about 9 months now. For me, it was the right decision and I have no regrets. Having such an old phone doesn't bother me nearly as much anymore because it's basically just a phone now and even a 5S is still fine for phone calls and messaging. I now use my iPad Pro to do all the non-phone related things I used to do on my 5S (unless I'm out and don't have the iPad with me of course).
