Not even close to the same thing.

I cannot get a front-row concert experience later, or have it delivered at home, at it be the EXACT same experience.

We're talking about a phone here.

To each his own, I'm not sure why it bothers people. What effect does it have on you to see people lined up for a phone? It's a cool experience to line up on launch day to get your iPhone. I haven't been able to do it the last few years but wouldn't mind doing it again.

Seems like everybody on the iPhone upgrade program are the only ones with the dates being moved up. They are being made priority which i understand but its not fair.

What do you do for fun? What makes you happy? What are your hobbies? To these people, sitting outside the Apple store to be one of the first to get the new phone is fun for them and makes them happy. Everyone has different joys in life, for them it's being around other Apple enthusiasts and potentially being one of the first to snag up the new device. It shouldn't be that hard to understand.

But it is hard to understand, for me.

I don't see the fun in that.

This is actually pretty impressive. The news prior to release was all about how supply would be constrained well into 2018, but it seems like the opposite. It felt like the 7 release had worse supply than the X. Sign of poor sales?
Again, for the thousandth (?) time, “constrained into 2018” means orders placed in 2018 will still have shipping delays. It doesn’t mean that orders placed in 2017 won’t ship until 2018, nobody ever seriously thought that. I mean maybe if you place your order Dec. 15th.

I know this is whining but I am getting a little pissed at Apple as a German. Not only are we paying for hard and software we can’t actually use (Apple Pay), have a higher price due to exchange rate shenanigans and can’t participate in the iUP programm, it now feels like we have to wait to longer so that American citizens get their phone early. I mean 21 - 28 is not 2 - 3 weeks like Apple says, but 4 - 5. Why aren’t we speed up?

I simply stated that I'll never understand why people do this. I'm not saying it makes me angry that they do. I just find it silly, at best, and shake my head at it.

But I agree, to each his own. I reserve the right to judge others, and I'm sure others have and will continue to return the favor.

You said you could never understand why they do it. I gave you a reason: it brings them happiness and joy. Other people getting happiness and joy through activities you never would should not be hard to understand.

Now, you not ever being able to find the fun in the same activity is understandable. Just like I could never find the fun in jumping out of a perfectly good airplane, but people do it and I understand they find happiness (probably more adrenaline than happiness) doing it.

Ultimately I understand what you were after and I could certainly be blamed for dragging this out a bit too much haha.

Anyone else's tracking show their phone leave Alaska on 10/31 and no updates after that?
Appears that plane load of phones is going through the import scan now. One of my phones from that plane just updated, the other still shows the Alaska departure. Should update in the next hour or two.

It’s not Apple’s fault the Euro is undervalued to the US dollar. Is it Apple or German banks that won’t accept Apple Pay.

A German could always make computers in garage, develope company, invent new type of phone, design it in Germany, build it in China, improve it for ten years, and charge US customers based on exchange rate. When that happens I will accept you complaints as valid. Oh wait, German’s don’t have garages.......never mind.

Order in by 3:10am EST Silver ATT 64GB. Initial window was Nov 17-24 then Nov 16-23. Last night status was moved to "preparing to ship" and tax was charged. This morning I see it was shipped from China and ETA is Monday. Go figure.

Seems we're getting into a semantical discussion framed by language limitations, so let me rephrase my statement to be more semantically clear:

I find the idea of camping in line for a phone (among other things) idiotic.

I couldn't care less if others enjoy it.

I also would do nothing to prevent them from enjoying something I find idiotic.

Clear enough?

Definitely. Like I mentioned (not sure if you saw my edit), I knew what you were after and in my boredom counting down the minutes until I get my X, by delivery :), I engaged and dragged this out a bit.

Mine is still saying "Order processed: Ready for UPS." Why is this? I pre-ordered on October 29th from Sprint's website...

Still at the 17-24 thanks to the App never loading. As usual, great job Apple for the terrible load times.

iPhone X 256GB Silver shipped! My original window was a few weeks from now but it will be here Monday! Guess that's what happens when people order several at once from different companies to ensure they get one and then cancel the other orders.
