Spoke the true American. I tip my hat.

i’m actually eastern european, i have never been outside europe. but i find it both amusing and logical that you think i’m an american. :)) if i’ve always liked an american trait, it’s their ruthlessness when it comes to business and money. not a big fan of their other stuff.

[doublepost=1509136268][/doublepost]Did anyone get: “Ships: 1-2 weeks” but, has “Delivers: Nov 10 - Nov 17”? I don’t see the correlation! If it ships in 1-2 weeks shouldn’t the dates be “Nov 3 - Nov 10”?

I got the same time frame (T-Mobile), checked back this morning and it now says Delivers 03 Nov! Yes!

I found this from another thread here on macrumors.. This is what another member said.. There's also a lot of other people that think this way also. You would think APPLE would have figured out how to launch something that's gonna be popular by now..

This is honestly such a big part of their marketing. Constraining supply to increase demand, not only in the short term but for the product as a whole.

Imagine if the iPhone was readily available to pick up? It removes the “exclusivity” of it very quickly.

Edit: They are of course having manufacturing issues, but even if they weren’t, you know they’d issue the same statement.

James

"Constraining supply to increase demand" is pure speculation and does not speak to sound economics. Until there is evidence to the contrary, the assertion is simply unsubstantiated and wishful fake news.

I have a friend who preordered an iPhone X which said ships on Nov 10 - 17, but now the status changed as Nov 3!
Mine is Nov 17 - 24. Hopefully mine will be changed too

I bet some of the shipping dates moved earlier because of pre-orders that got screwed up or otherwise cancelled. Too bad it took me 15 minutes of constantly restarting the Apple Store app, switching to LTE and back to Wi-Fi to have different IPs, etc.... Seems as if it was just luck. Some people were let through, some weren't. No clue how that load balancing on their servers worked, but I will live with a ship date of Nov 17-24.

Funny thing was that I didn't set an alarm to wake up at 3am. I figured if I woke up, I did, if I didn't, that was fine too. Woke up at 2:59 for some odd reason!

My coworker at 2pm this afternoon started talking to me about it. She ordered a 256 from the Sprint site and got 11/3 delivery lol. Then turned around and ordered her guy one in Gray that have an 11/13.
No one ordered Sprint...lol

I have had Nov 3 as the delivery since the beginning of this journey. This afternoon it went to preparing for shipment.

If you’re a family of 5 with only a 50k income to support that family I think ordering an iPhone is the LEAST of worries.

Sadly the average American doesn’t have the most basic sense of managing money. Since currently over 50 percent of earners wouldn’t be able to cover a $1000 emergency if needed.

But I’m sure they have a new shiny iPhone X !!
Lol, true man, people priorities are out of whack!

Anyone got conf from Carphone Warehouse yet. Got order processing email but no confirmed emailed. And their entire self help website is down.

Scratch that, self help seems to be back up. But nothing to help me there.

well looks like the hype has run dry... was 5-6 weeks in Australia this morning. Still is this afternoon. Guess everyone who wanted one has ordered one ;)

The rest of us have decided to 10 month wait for the 10S might lead to cheaper models with the bugs ironed out. First time I've not upgraded when I can. Maybe next time the will sort out their production line and announce all models at the same time. If this has been in the pipeline for 3 years as they mentioned then someone cocked up. And Tim will be giving them a stern look if this has affected sales. Day 1 was always going to be a sell out. Let's check back in a week or a month and see how long delivery times are. Either they ramp up production and meet demand - or demand isn't there after the first blush. Just grateful that hideous pink gold mashup isn't available in the X. I wasn't fussed on the Gold or Rose Gold but this new colour looks more Tobacco Stain Gold in the flesh. Yuk!!!

For anyone in the same position, i'd suggest calling them. Turns out they had an issue with processing payment, just didn't bother letting me know :/

So similar, tried to order on Apple Store app at 3:10, got a We’ve Reserved a Phone screen, no email. Got up at 5:45 still nothing went back to app, and nothing. Ordered again and it went through except with 5-6 week shipping. Then went to ATT and upgraded same line with 11/2 ship date. I assume that ATT upgrade will supersede Apple?

You have probably figured this out by now, but once your order "processes" it becomes eligible for cancellation. That's what I did.

You are putting your thoughts on a message board, so I’m not sure what you expect. Almost all the people on here are strangers to almost all the other people on here...

It is dramatic, though, that someone (a posting member of MR, no less) would go diametrically from the point of staying up late at night waiting to preorder the new iPhone to the opposite point of completely giving up Apple forever because they have to wait an extra week.

Not quite as dramatic as may have seemed from that post. More like a gradual souring over a period of time that got a heavy sprinkling of frustration because of a poor customer experience. And one thing that Apple is good at is integrating all of their products together so that it does become difficult to extract yourself, even if you want. And my phone is two years old now despite being on Att's Next program because the last phone was somewhat disappointing.

I would not have been as frustrated if everything gone smoothly and I ended up with a wait because there were simply not enough rather than hear others saying that they completed orders with no issues and were receiving on launch day when I had experienced many errors and had a potentially five week wait. I know, first world problems for sure.

And yes, I know that most people don't know each other here, although I am quite familiar with a number of people since I have been here a long time. But, strangers should not be telling people to not let the door hit you on the way out because you decided to vent some anger.

Pre-order supplies of the new iPhone X are now largely sold out, with the new iPhone models displaying shipping estimates well beyond the November 3 launch date. All models from all carriers at the moment list shipping estimates of five to six weeks in the United States, although some Sprint models can still be ordered for November 3 in-store pickup depending on the store. Other countries have similarly delayed shipping estimates.

Ahead of iPhone X pre-orders, rumors suggested supplies would be heavily constrained due to ongoing production issues with everything from the TrueDepth camera module to the flexible printed circuit board for the device's antenna.

With pre-order supplies of the iPhone X exhausted, some customers could be waiting for months to get their hands on one of Apple's new devices. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes Apple will not reach supply/demand balance for the iPhone X until well into the new year.

Apple began accepting pre-orders for the iPhone X at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time on Friday, October 27, and it took just minutes for shipping estimates to start slipping. Shipping times are likely to get longer over the course of the next few hours as pre-orders continue to trickle in.

Customers who are hoping to get an iPhone X on launch day but weren't able to get a pre-order in early enough can try their luck waiting in line for a new device on launch day, Friday November 3.

Customers who were able to place an early iPhone X pre-order will begin receiving their devices starting next week.

[doublepost=1509242241][/doublepost]I was on T Mobile website are 12:01 it crashed won’t process. I called T Mobile direct got through at 12:06 Irdered my Space Gray 256 I Phone X. They said there was a $20 order fee but gave me credit because their website had problem. My date to send it overnight the phone Nov 2-3. I read a number of T Mobile customer were upgraded to November 3 for the 17. I was wondering did you order it online through their website.

My experience was rough:
For some reason my Apple ID decided to use my older billing/card address. It's updated everywhere and under my Apple ID the info is correct. However, the order summary is skewed with that older nonsense. I tried chatting with Apple, but they cannot change the card info for me. They suggest calling My Apple number in order to get it done, but it's impossible to get through today: they don't even place you on hold due to high volume traffic .
I managed to get a great option: store pick-up on the 3rd. The order still shows as processing. I'm worried that when the system will try to charge that mysterious old card, it won't be able to and it will get canceled.
It's still so weird: I placed everything through my Apple ID and my Apple Pay.
I still hope that the order summary is incorrect and they will go by Apple ID and the info stored in it. However, the chat person said the order was no associated with any Apple ID, which is nonsense as I can see it under My Orders.
Anyone with a similar experience? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
I had this same issue. Super strange. My card info was updated weeks ago (prior to the 8 launch) and oddly my Apple ID reverted to a card number I haven't used since this spring. Luckily, I noticed it as I was ordering and quickly updated the correct information on my order in time to still get a Nov. 3 delivery date.

Call your credit card company, post haste. The purchase price is probably over their daily purchase threshold; you can get them to fix that with a single phone call, and then try the purchase again.
Thanks, turns out it’s an Apple Pay limit which my bank can’t increase, had to call Apple so overwrite it and use my card without Apple Pay

[doublepost=1509294846][/doublepost]I just had T Mobile call me telling me my card didn’t process. The credit card Company are so scared of fraud they are blocking this type of purchase. I had to call my credit card company to let the process go through. Now waiting to see if it get processed which means I getting my phone shipped. That the good news

Mine shows in the UPS System, Do we know if they are shipping as signature required? It usually shows but it does not say it is this time

I was just on ATT (Oct 29th) and for the heck of it, tried to preorder the X (64gb ATT). It said the shipping date would be Nov 27th - Dec 4th.

It slipped drastically because of you MR! You shared the secrets of how to order it fast using it app. Lol
Definitely. I was wondering due to a lot of suggestions using Apple app to speed up preordering, many used Apple app and the extraordinary high volume usage crashed the app. Apple app was the worst preordering app.

No one ordered Sprint...lol

You're absolutely right lol. I ordered a 64 on Sprint on launch day, and the delivery date says 10/30/2017 lol. 4 days early it appears.
