If you got blocked for "Reservation" verifying with carrier. You will likely be out of luck as this has been going on for years now it seems and when they get this bogged down, if the order doesn't go through smoothly the first try, your pretty much guaranteed the "reservation" will expire before the system returns to normal communication. I just read a few threads on this and it seems to be the case. Pretty much a forced dead end. I'm kind of loosing interest at this point.

Just got my follow up email and was able to successfully complete the order and got the original ship date.

I have a tip for you to make a little extra: work. Save. Be patient. Repeat.

But then again, maybe I'm just not made for this capitalistic world...
I was talking in general. I actually don't need suggestions for you as I make decent money but doesn't mean that I won't try to make some extra. People complain that they have to wait a couple more weeks for a PHONE and those of us that are trying to make some extra cash are the "bad" ones. Funny, isn't it?

Me too with the 8+—just proof of concept. :)

But I can not wait to read/see more about the new phone!
I look forward to watching video reviews of it on Youtube and playing with it at my local Apple Store in the coming weeks. Still excited about the phone knowing next year will bring a better phone!

It's like complaining about the guy on the corner selling hot dogs for $4 when you can get an 8-pack from the market for $.99 on sale. If you can't afford the markup, wait 2 years for the price to be cut in half.

My experience was rough:
For some reason my Apple ID decided to use my older billing/card address. It's updated everywhere and under my Apple ID the info is correct. However, the order summary is skewed with that older nonsense. I tried chatting with Apple, but they cannot change the card info for me. They suggest calling My Apple number in order to get it done, but it's impossible to get through today: they don't even place you on hold due to high volume traffic .
I managed to get a great option: store pick-up on the 3rd. The order still shows as processing. I'm worried that when the system will try to charge that mysterious old card, it won't be able to and it will get canceled.
It's still so weird: I placed everything through my Apple ID and my Apple Pay.
I still hope that the order summary is incorrect and they will go by Apple ID and the info stored in it. However, the chat person said the order was no associated with any Apple ID, which is nonsense as I can see it under My Orders.
Anyone with a similar experience? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Where are these people coming from with their $1,800 iPhones, and the $2,500 ones? If your friends bought iPhones at such prices, they clearly got them from the black market... If you buy directly from Apple, the most expensive one is $1,149 plus $199 Apple Care... if you assume a 10% tax on it (which many states pay a lot less than), add another $134.8 making it a total of $1,482.8... that for the most expensive iPhone in the market... still expensive, but far from those exaggerated prices...

Wait I'm wrong. $4k! With HST in Ontario plus AC its over $4k not $5k my bad.

Still 5-6 weeks in the UK, nowhere near the Apocalypse people predicted. Although I guess it is already a month late, so you’d be looking at almost a whole quarter afte announcement.

But surely with apparent supply shortages coupled with the extension of the usual 2 year design change cadence it should have been worse?

How far out were AirPod orders by this time on day 1?

Hello, I got a reservation this morning when pre ordering iPhone x. I then continued to purchase one with delivery time 2-3 weeks. But my reservation was for launch day, Nov 3rd. Earlier, I received an email to complete my reservation, but I can’t complete because I already have an existing order to my phone number. Can I cancel my existing order so I can proceed to complete my reservation with earlier delivery time?

I've run into this result a few times now over recent years. More or less seems to be a case of Apple failing to communicate with the AT&T server (in my case) and this is the solution they employ. On all of these occasions a follow-up email was delivered later in the morning (I just go to bed and deal with it when I wake up) and the servers/checkout have been responsive from there. Also, on each of these occasions, including today, the reservation held release date delivery.

Did run into a problem this year where checkout only offered me AT&T's NEXT plan despite selecting pay in full on checkout. That was resolved some hours later and I was able to complete my order normally.

Nothing I've seen comes remotely close to losing the reservation.

10+ hours after receiving the reservation, Apple sent the info re completing the process. In my case, the phone is due to arrive 17-24 November.

FYI: I had to complete my purchase by Saturday, October 28, 12:00PM PDT; not exactly 24 hours after the date/time of the confirming reservation.

Waited at least 10 minutes for the app to finally start working, and then when it did, I got a bunch of errors. By time it finally worked, my space gray 64GB model through the Upgrade Program was pushed back to the 11/17-11/24 delivery window. Now I’m waiting for some sign that the order actually worked. So far, I have a screenshot of the order number, but still no sign of a confirmation

Pre-order supplies of the new iPhone X are now largely sold out, with the new iPhone models displaying shipping estimates well beyond the November 3 launch date. All models from all carriers at the moment list shipping estimates of five to six weeks in the United States, although some Sprint models can still be ordered for November 3 in-store pickup depending on the store. Other countries have similarly delayed shipping estimates.

Ahead of iPhone X pre-orders, rumors suggested supplies would be heavily constrained due to ongoing production issues with everything from the TrueDepth camera module to the flexible printed circuit board for the device's antenna.

With pre-order supplies of the iPhone X exhausted, some customers could be waiting for months to get their hands on one of Apple's new devices. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes Apple will not reach supply/demand balance for the iPhone X until well into the new year.

Apple began accepting pre-orders for the iPhone X at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time on Friday, October 27, and it took just minutes for shipping estimates to start slipping. Shipping times are likely to get longer over the course of the next few hours as pre-orders continue to trickle in.

Customers who are hoping to get an iPhone X on launch day but weren't able to get a pre-order in early enough can try their luck waiting in line for a new device on launch day, Friday November 3.

Customers who were able to place an early iPhone X pre-order will begin receiving their devices starting next week.

[doublepost=1509136268][/doublepost]Did anyone get: “Ships: 1-2 weeks” but, has “Delivers: Nov 10 - Nov 17”? I don’t see the correlation! If it ships in 1-2 weeks shouldn’t the dates be “Nov 3 - Nov 10”?

Cracks me up every time I see that assertion. Fake news.

I found this from another thread here on macrumors.. This is what another member said.. There's also a lot of other people that think this way also. You would think APPLE would have figured out how to launch something that's gonna be popular by now..

This is honestly such a big part of their marketing. Constraining supply to increase demand, not only in the short term but for the product as a whole.

Imagine if the iPhone was readily available to pick up? It removes the “exclusivity” of it very quickly.

Edit: They are of course having manufacturing issues, but even if they weren’t, you know they’d issue the same statement.

I ordered mine through apple.com around 3:10am EST with a Nov.17-24 timeframe and one through tmobile.com this morning with a Nov. 3-10 timeframe with overnight shipping. What are the chances of me actually receiving it Nov. 3-10th? This would be my first time ordering via T-Mo's website. Anyone with past experience with this? A couple of reps have told me that I for sure will be receiving it in that timeframe because the company is receiving millions of iPhone X's because "they've learned from previous iPhone launches".

no. release, and shipping, date is Nov 3. this is the date the phone becomes available to the public. 1-2 weeks is the shipping from when the phone becomes available. 1-2 weeks after Nov 3 is Nov 10 - Nov 17.

Wasn't it just a year or two ago when people were complaining about the entry level iPhones having so little storage. Granted that was 16GB, but with today's apps, that seems to almost compare to 64GB. I get that people trust and use cloud storage more than they did in those days, however 64GB seems far too lacking in a $1000 phone.

there was absolutely no way for Verizon prepaid customers to buy the iPhone X on preorder, despite all Verizon reps saying it would be no problem. Needless to say, I didn't get mine.

I'd say that 'millions' is a rep that doesn't know what they're talking about. They probably have learned from past preorders though and I don't doubt they've tried to secure absolutely every unit they possibly can and have probably become better at both predicting orders and fulfilling them. I think your chances are good to get the TMo phone by the 10th but almost nill to get it on launch day. Apple may beat their estimate of Nov 17-24 but probably not dramatically so.

There’s work, and then there’s business. You’ll always be a worker bee. Nothing wrong with that, just stating the obvious.

Maybe I just have morals and don't like taking advantage of people.

Besides @Freida, I did state that I don't get how people can freak over having to wait a few weeks longer.

lmao at taking advantage. no one is being forced to buy a luxury phone. :))) it’s supply and demand baby, economics 101.
