The 8/8+ was a pointless release.
What about the other iPhone users who were upgrading from an older model iPhone to the iPhone 8? Not Everybody's interested in the iPhone X or Face ID.
The 8/8+ was a pointless release.
He reported on ~10,000 units/day, which is to be compared to first weekend sales of 13,000,000 iPhone 6s / 6s Plus.
I'm going to get an iPhone x but I suspect the delays and supply will be so bad at launch pretty much no one will have one until next year. Such a shame, I feel like a company with 250billion in the bank shouldn't have these issues. Considering apple sets the release date it's disappointing to say the least.
Honestly, screw this. Ten years of Apple phones, and now I am finally ready to look elsewhere. More attractive hardware at a much more reasonable price available right now in every carrier store across the country without all of the 'there may be one left in the back...' silliness kind of does it for me.
I'm skeptical of this report. If Apple wasn't sure it would have ample supply at least so the first 30 minutes of pre-orders could get release day, why not just say "Fall 2017?" Hard dates indicate some confidence that they can at least get more than 5 of these out the door on 11/3.
Or it could end up being that no one but scalpers want to pay $1K for a phone and they will get screwed over.well at least if i don't like it i can be sure that someone will pay me at least as much as i payed..![]()
There weren't any Plus models in any stores for a couple of launches over the last four years. There won't be any in stores on the 3rd.I wonder if there will be any in-store stock on launch day.
They haven't even STARTED production yet?! This can't be real, I thought they typically started production like months in advance?!
The first 30 minutes!?
iPhones (excluding the 8 and 8 Plus) usually sell out within a minute or two!
Apple saw what worked with Nintendo's NES Classic and Switch. I'm sure they are taking a page form them. Set a limit on what they want to sell and then artificially create a shortage on the device so it can sell like hot cakes.
They probably announced it because of all the leaks this summer. But the device wasn’t ready. We heard it was going into production in September but could only produce 10,000 a day. Seems they’re having even further issues preventing mass production. Also with the NAND shortages and screen supplies from Samsung being shorted makes perfect sense that it’s not ready. They haven't even STARTED production yet?! xD 2017. Like my airpods last year they arrived the day before christmas!Looks like they knew what they were doing.

The 8/8+ was a pointless release.
