Oh god. Looks like I'll be ordering mine at 3:01:01
Otherwise it'd be 2018 before you can get your phone.
Maybe that's true but it could also mean that people are not impressed with the iphone 8, yet they also don't want to throw 1000€+ for a phone. Time will tell... if they even get to start selling the iphone x of course. The people saying Apple is deliberately constraining supply to create a shortage are just plain crazy. The pent up demand for the X clearly shows people are willing to pay the high prices. And we know people are holding off buying the 8 so they can buy the X. So, every iPhone X Apple fails to make is just money they are leaving on the table. No sane company would deliberately underproduce a product when this high amount of demand has clearly been demonstrated.
Apple is allegedly waiting to see how many iPhone X pre-orders it receives, and monitoring how well the already-released iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus sell, before fully ramping up production overseas.
Could easily launch at 3:00:00 at Ships: 6-8 weeks... and not be available in the color/capacity we're looking for. They've played that game before, especially on first-generation devices.
With these delays, the iPhone X basically is the 2018 release!
Realistically speaking, Apple has a ballpark number of potential upgraders. They have all the data on how often people move up on the two-year cycle + extras.
They can just take the people buying the 8 and subtract them from that number.
Apple's base is so huge that they really can just do a straight-line extrapolation.
Me, too. I'm happy with the 8+. The X launch will be interesting to watch from the sidelines. If the production vs. demand estimates are correct, the X could be like the AirPods with a 6-week wait well into next year.Agree totally. Love my new 8 Plus.
All signs point towards overwhelming demand for the iPhone X.
Just like the AirPods launch last yearWith these delays, the iPhone X basically is the 2018 release!
TBH... I am happy with the delay. There are probably going to be a lot of customers who passed on the iPhone 8 and are disappointed they have to wait until after the new year to get their hands on an iPhone X
How is the supply chain guy not able to do better than this?
