I received my iCarez (two pack) screen protector earlier today. So far 100% winner. Previously I had a Anker Karapax protector on. Decent protector, easy to apply, but I didn't like that both notch and bezel was exposed and vulnerable.

I found the iCarez to be a PITA to put on because you align the speaker hole with the cut out in the protector. Sounds simple but the speaker hole seems to easily "disappear" when installing. You need a lot of light to see it... or better eyes than me.

Once installed there are bubbles but the majority push out easily. The few that are left I'm sure will go away over the next day or so. That's always been my experience with glass screens.

Once that is done and you can admire the protector, wow, what a difference between the plain glass with notch cutout variant. I have a Speck Presidio Grip case and with it on + the protector literally is no gap. The complete front of the phone is protected. The rim of the case still has a good 1.5mm or so height advantage over the protector so if it falls faced down should be good.

On turning on the phone Face ID did not work at all. Uh oh I thought. So I went into settings and reset Face ID and then re-learned my face. Put the phone to sleep and woke up. Back in business Face ID work just like it always did. So guessing the protector creates some distortion to the camera or something. Gestures all work fine in the case too.

If you have specific questions let me know. So far seems like well spent money giving me exactly what I was looking for.

Have others had to reset face id? Any noticeable distortion using the front camera for selfies?

Haven’t read or heard others needing to reset Face ID. No noticeable distortion with front camera. Issue could have been with dot projector or just a one off thing.

Is the black border / edge above the Face ID sensor sealed / adheres to the screen? The issue I have with another brand protector is that the top edge does not adhere to the screen, you could slide a piece of paper in there and what happens is that dust starts to collect in that little "window" that is impossible to get back out and starts to diminish the performance of Face ID.

It took a few days for this to happen btw, would be great to get your impression of the screen protector after the break in period to see if dust is collecting there or not.

hows the oleophobic coating does it attract fingerprint and smudges easily?

So those with Belkin’s glass, you guys have the rainbow effect as well? Mine is most obvious at the top, especially on the top left. The side and bottom have very minimal rainbow effect.

I have not noticed any rainbow effect with my Belkin.

That’s lucky, perhaps there is slight variation when manufacturing the tempered glass, so some won’t have the rainbow effect as it covers pass the edge of the display while some are on the edge of the display causing the rainbow effect.

shout out to all the ppl that recommended the icarez edge to edge 2 pack glass protector. Just installed mine and loving the smooth oleophobic coating, very smart of them to design a very small black border/bezel so its compatible with all cases.

Thinking about picking this one up now with all these recs. Been hearing it is a hassle to install though.

What is the advantage to the black bezel versus just an all clear protector? Also, can you remove/install cases without impacting the screen protector?

no but need to be careful not to cover dot projector. The screen protector black bezels are not perfectly straight and don't line up 100% with the phones bezels.

I think if it was all clear, the area under the black bezel would not properly adhere due to the small curve. Im pretty sure the bezel area isn't adhered the same as the middle part. If we could adhere the bezel part with just clear glass I think someone would have done it.

Yes, the entire glass is sealed against the screen. The black border comes up just to where the screen curves and my case takes over from there. The only place I can see dust or lint accumulating is the speaker hole, but no way to prevent that given that needs to be open.

The glass seems to ward off fingerprints very well. It also has a great slick feeling -- like actual glass. I bought a screen protector for my iPad Pro a few months ago and the glass felt like plastic -- grippy, not smooth, which, of course, makes it hard to use gestures. That protector was also fingerprint magnet despite being advertised as "oleophopic." But silly to put any trust in claims from discount no-name Chinese crap like this so there is that. But so far (less than 24hrs at this point) the iCarez is the oppose of that one and a really bargain at 2 for $8 shipped (with Prime).

Thanks for the review, much appreciated. Anyone know why there is a small see through cut out just above the speaker cut out? The black border seems thinner there and I'm worried that will show when the protector is installed?

TIA

Anyone using the iCarez and going caseless? If so, how does the phone feel in hand. I installed the i-Blason protector yesterday. It installed perfectly, no bubbles, etc. However, by the end of the day I ripped it off because the edge of the protector was so obvious when holding the phone.

Yes, but you probably don't have to get more than 1 screen protector. Get one and be happy with it.
Waiting for pictures and reviews. Haha.. I thought I was crazy to spend 30 over for a screen protector for my 6s+ now there's something cost almost double.

I had terrible experiences with the imos on my 7 plus. Went through three different pieces of glass from them and all of them left a large bubble down the right side of the protector. I've been installing these things for years and know what I'm doing. My speculation is that imos glass fits so precisely that if there is any variation with a specific iPhone (either from the factory or caused by the user), you simply cannot get a decent install.

The company was okay to work; they did several exchanges and finally issued a refund, but it was a huge hassle.

Yeah, it's a trick of the light. Kind of like when flash photography exposes a women's top even though her top is not see-though. For whatever reason the area above the speaker bar is a lighter shade of black but it's full glass. The only cut out is the speaker hole and it's surrounded by glass.

Thank you for the reply. I will place my order tonight.

Well I can’t recommend the imos 3D. waste of $60. Get the 2.5D instead. The 3D has no adhesive around the sensor cut out and will collect dust. Besides that it feels nice like any other imos.

Could we get some pics? So the little sensor is prone to getting dust on the inside? Did you try sliding a peice of paper underneath to see if there is a gap?
