Toms review also state the iPhone X’s display offers better image quality and more contrast within the image when compared to the note 8 and the pixel 2.

“What I mean by that is that the colors weren't as saturated as the hues from the Galaxy Note 8's screen, for example. When I watched the same Wonder Woman trailer on both phones, the greens on the Note 8’s screen popped more.
But then I looked closer, along with my colleague Adam Ismail, and we did some additional side-by-side tests. The iPhone X's screen delivered consistently better image quality across a range of images. For instance, I could easily make out the braid on Wonder Woman's hair, which bot lost on the Note 8 and Pixel 2. In addition, on closer inspection the iPhone X's Super Retina panel offered more contrast between the sky and water.”
Thats all very subjective, ill wait for display mate to do their review with actual measurements. I do think the iPhone X screen will be comparable to the Note 8 overall, I've said this from the beginning.

...I’m not sure why it matters if the Note 8 gets brighter or not.

It really doesn't, if you read my post you will see even on my S8 I never use it at more then 50% brightness indoors anyway. Its only in direct sunlight where brightness is ever an issue on smartphones and the S8 hits over 1000 nits in that situation so i'm more then happy.

Are you buying an iPhone X?

No i'm an Android person, I am however also a tech person and like checking out new technology from all vendors.
Just checking. So you’re an Android-only user arguing in support of an Android phone within a thread on a forum dedicated to the discussion of Apple products. Got it. Glad we got that clarified and now fully understand your intentions here.

Im fully entitled to my opinion, i've been a member here for over 7 years, I've owned plenty of Apple gear its not like i'm here just to troll. Its actually rude for you to even suggest it.

So someone can't have an opposing view point who uses android and iOS in an iPhone forum? There are plenty of Apple users who frequent discussion in the Alternative forum for Android. You don't have an argument here at all.

Right rude...

He is right, do you even post in the actual iPhone threads or do you just like to troll the alternative section? Looking at your post history it seems 95% of your posts are in the alternative section....

And now toms hardware is subjective.

“Apple strived to achieve the most realistic colors possible, and that’s borne out by the iPhone X’s Delta-E reading of 0.27. (A score of 0 is perfect.)
With the True Tone on, that was improved to 0.21. That's slightly better than the Pixel 2 XL (0.26) and it beats the Note 8 (0.5).
The iPhone X's screen also gets very bright at 574 nits, which beats the Pixel 2 XL's 438 nits and Note 8's 408 nits. I especially noticed the brightness difference at wider viewing angles when we put the phones side by side.”

Except he doesn’t use iOS, doesn’t like iOS and has very little interest in buying an iPhone X.

And this relevant how or Why does it matter? Is there some restriction where an android user can't participate in an iOS forum or vice versa? As the OP already stated, they have own plenty of Apple gear in the past and they like checking out new technology from all vendors. There's no need to be overly dismissive of another's members participation in different forums, as I frequent both as well, regardless if they use/own iOS or Android Hardware.

Depends upon the intention of that person, I would say.

Then why did you say it?

So someone can't have an opposing view point who uses android and iOS in an iPhone forum?

Then why did you say it?

Because my response is directly related to somebody else that was being dismissive just as you are. Again, the argument goes both ways, someone can frequent tech forum for both iOS and android form and still have an opinion.

Contrary to what you stated listed below, again, that's dismissive and it doesn't matter if somebody uses iOS or not. That doesn't mean they can't frequent a forum to express an opinion based off something they do or don't own. Again, it doesn't matter.

Except he doesn’t use iOS, doesn’t like iOS and has very little interest in buying an iPhone X.

I think to him opinion matters more.

BeCause you're on an opinionated forum and opinions do matter most on here, considering that's what discussion is made of. That seems to make logical sense, does it not?

He was being dismissive an hypocritical.

Your words chief

Care to derail this thread further?

Since you want transition into semantics, No, the OP was not dismissive according for supporting both platforms. Aside from being desensitizing to others and dismissive, you're not even discussing the actual point already Addressed anymore for the fact that everybody can frequent any forum they so please. You don't have the right to negate what somebody decides to say about what they choose in terms of iOS or android. The OP already clarified that.

So my previous Post question stands and you since you deflect away from it, alas, "Someone can't have an opposing view point who uses android and iOS and an iPhone forum."

Free to actually answer the question versus ignoring it for the sake of discussion.

Ok

So your not here to discuss the iPhone X display

Would you like a soap box ?

Would you like a soap box ?

Based on the statement, Allegedly you're not either, but nor are you interested in answering questions and the actual points that were addressed to you versus transitioning into semantics, as I already stated. But thank you for the discussion and I moving on from this.

I can't tell if your saying that just to say that, or if the iPhone X is in fact better for the screen?

Looking at my friend's Galaxy S8, the biggest thing that caught my eye was the screen, and the beauty of it for looking at photos. If looking at an S8 is "prettier" in screen quality than the iPhone X, it makes me think if I should just go with some other phone then.

You would change platforms because of a slight difference in the screen? Have you used Apple products in the past? They have always had great screens and there is no doubt the X will be amazing. Just get your phone and enjoy it, stop nitpicking over trivial things.

Right rude...
You are quoting a post where I was replying to a member that only posted in the Alternative section even though they owned an iPhone, I post in all sections of this forum, I don't just hang out in the iPhone section to troll, in fact I rarely post in the iP. This all started because I pointed out a large discrepancy in the tomshardware figures for brightness on the Note 8 compared to the displaymate figures. Ive been very fair with my assessment of the iPhone X display, i've not said a bad thing about it, quite the contrary actually. You had every intention to start an argument with your post about Samsung fanboys so pull your head in and post something constructive.

Yet you fail to see the hypocrisy.

He does in fact post in other parts of the forum as well, just like you.

Well that and then you called it subjective because tom hardware did not match with display mate results

Are you calling yourself a fanboy?

I called it subjective because in that post there were no measurements just a description of what they were seeing, which is in fact subjective. As for that other poster they were posting 95% of their stuff in the alternative forum when they did not even own an android device, there is a big difference. Anyway i'm not here to argue with you. Have a nice day :)
