That’s why I use facepalm for my avi picture. Way ahead of game on posts like this. 😕Honestly, when I’ve read the title I was like “facepalm”...
But as faceid only works on one side, the guy actually has a point...

Or the button on the side..So I guess the protruding camera on the back wasn’t enough to tell you the back of the phone from the front. Odd what people complain about these days.
I'm amazed at the idiots that come out of the woodwork when a new phone is released. No wonder society is like it is right now.If you have a space grey iPhone X, try this test at home. Turn off the lights, fumble around with your phone so you lose track of its orientation, then try to turn it on.
PROBLEM: You have no idea which side is front or back, which way is up or down. There is no home button to orient the phone. You have a 75% chance of getting it wrong on the space grey. So here is what happens:
25% chance - You guessed right, good job.
25% chance - Screen turns on but upside down, flip it over. Ok, not so bad.
25% chance - You're staring at the back of a phone, oops. After a while flip it over, you're oriented correctly now.
25% chance - You're staring at the back of a phone, oops. After a while flip it over, now it's upside down! So rotate again. It's not your lucky day.
This is a DISASTER for usability and I frankly can't believe Apple released the space grey version of this phone. Apple probably knows about this flaw, that's why they gave our white phones to reviewers during this cycle.
It's less of a problem if you use a case, but you shouldn't need to use a case to make your phone not terrible.
You shouldnt need to feel around for a home button to orient your phone.I shouldn't need to feel around for a camera bump to orient my phone. This was something simple to do with all previous 9 iPhones, now it's a big step back. I do feel this is a fundamental design flaw and I will be exchanging my space grey for a white phone or returning it altogether.
The phone has a great big HOLE on the back of it at the top...it doesn't take a genius to figure out how to orient the phone just by feeling the of the phone. GEEESH.You shouldnt need to feel around for a home button to orient your phone.

Seriously? At that point he read reviews, didn't offer his own opinion, which in this case is absolutely ridiculous. The same "issue" can be said for ANY phone that is black and naked. Except that it's not an issue, because the phone has a display that can illuminate on raising it or tapping it, and it has features on the back and side to distinguish, and we have hands to re-orient stuff. Oh my god, I just picked up the pen next to me and it's upside down...whatever shall I do?! I'd best send it back and get a different colour. Jeez...I always considered the OP an Apple fanboy based on his prior posts, so its kinda interesting for you guys to be bashing him so much over a somewhat valid point he has. He just posted the other day:
"The reviews are in and it's CONFIRMED that the X is by far the best phone you can buy. If you haven't pre-ordered for launch, it's definitely worth spending a few days in line to get one."
I doubt he is trolling this thread, so at least try to see if from his perspective. There really isn't that many key features to distinguish the iPX in that color, in a dimly lit room, besides the notch and the hardware buttons. This could potentially be a big downside at FIRST, as I would imagine it will become 2nd nature to feel the device and know its orientation with use over a period of time. Not a deal breaker, but it will take some time to get used to.

Let's not shoot the messenger man. I am not agreeing with OP or disagreeing with his statement. I am just saying that everyone needs to not jump down his throat over an issue that affects him. I don't believe he is trolling based on his previous posts (go check em out if you don't believe me" He seemed super stoked about the iPX prior to its launch.Seriously? Not shooting anyone dude! I am just saying that the "issue" that affects him is ridiculous, and sounds to me like somebody suffering buyers remorse. A colour change won't really help because he will still have a 50:50 chance of his phone being in the incorrect orientation.Let's not shoot the messenger man. Sorry if I came off defensive (just don't want to get banned, heard the mods can sometimes be in a bad mood here). But I agree, the issue doesn't seem to be something that would affect most users. The same thing happened to me when I got my Nexus 6 a few years ago, but after a few days, I could just grab my phone and would know the orientation based on which fingers were touching the power/vol buttons. Not shooting anyone dude! not even that you can just tap the screen to wake it up.Raise to wake?
