So how’s the iPhone X real estate in terms of screen compared to the plus?
I think this picture speaks louder than words

The X isnt bezel less so...

Plus it has thick side bezels compared to its "bezel less" competitors such as the S8.

I have to ask. How can the X be not bezeless but the S8 is?? They are within 1% I believe for screen to body ratio. Because it doesn’t have curved sides? I actually prefer this. While the galaxy line is beautiful, in terms of usability the curved sides are not great.

Yep. That the X will feel better in hand because nearly the whole front of the device is pure screen.

Yes but the display will feel cramped for Plus users. There is a trade off involved. Photos and almost everything else will appear smaller although you will get slightly more content in certain scenarios. Whatever content the Plus displays will feel nicer because it will be more expansive.

Then keep your Plus size phone. The X is not a direct competitor to the Plus size phone. It’s a smaller device. That’s like saying the SE is trash because the 4.7” 6s exists. Two completely different device sizes.

It’s getting pretty tiresome with all these direct comparisons of the X and Plus. They are not a same size device, they do not even have the same aspect ratio.

They are compared because they show almost the same amount of content. Really seems to depend on preference whether you want a smaller or bigger content.

Sorry to irritate you, that is not my intention at all. I'm not in any way comparing the two, just trying to get an idea of how they look in terms of rendering differences, maybe its just the anticipation for the X.

Which will you be going for?

I was quoting someone else, so I wasn’t necessarily referring to you.

I’m going for the X (and I’m coming from a 7+.) Infact I have to get two of them. One for me and the GF also wants one (she’s coming from a 6)

Same, coming from a 7+, need to also get a couple for the family, hope it goes well.

Oh it's going to be _way_ too small, my suggestion: don't order one. Also, tell anyone you know not to order one - in fact, anybody reading this ... don't sit up on the 27th and order one ...

You’re going to take your own advice right? If so one move up the X list for me. :)

X will not be easier to hold. Have you handled a bezel less device before? It’s a usability nightmare. Unless the touch rejection has been coded in well enough within iOS, it will be really difficult to manipulate.

It's not though... rtx3fydm.jpg

I mean the bezel is probably the same, if not slightly bigger on the X on the side, and that's where you hold it.

I dunno why people are calling it bezeless.... I see at least 2mm all around the phone, then a massive bezel at the top with the cameras.

I’ve only had 4.7” 6/6s/7 since switching to Apple from the nexus 5. I can’t wait! Plus camera and features in a 4.7 ish body!

This guy is using the regular 7 of course it will look “GIANT”.. he’s also a tiny bit over enthusiastic
Plus users will be him in a year, if the larger model has a similar screen. They'll forget about the notch.

2018, the year of the hypocrite. :D

You have a 4mm border on the X's left/right sides.

What's the border on the 8 models?

The X is the same size as the non plus model in terms of width.
Reports/images/scaled cutouts indicate the X is slightly wider.

i wonder whether the bigger X will also feel bulkier next to the Note (9?)
i'll try to play around with a Note.. not that i will ever use Android.
tbh right now the X looks a bit thick because of it's design, or maybe it is a bit thick.

I think the X is only slightly thicker? We’ll have to wait and see I guess. And do go and use a Note 8 in a store. It is still a big device but because if those curved edges looks more compact, it’s certainly a futuristic design and makes the Plus look dated.
The next mobile revolution will be foldable devices.

I would have a Note 8 if it wasn’t for the Apple Watch, the camera from what I’ve seen using the device is stunning, the price is already dropping on it too!

I am keen to try an X out though and see what it’s camera is capable off.
