I always get gray or black and planned to get silver, even though I always use a case. I don’t like clear cases because they scratch so easily, but I’ve just noticed a couple that have opaque finishes on them that would let the silver look nice I bet. Maybe? Now I wish I had gone for silver but I thought the gray might be easier to get so I ordered gray. :) oh well I don’t spent much time looking at the back of my phone LOL
 
Changed my order to the silver 256 go. Wanted to get something different than the usual black. And I get it 5 days earlier on 12/1 instead of the 6th
 
I thought the space grey was the most popular

Guess it's the one I got is the most popular (silver/256GB)
 
Got the silver 64. I think it looks fresher, and honestly it gives an OG vibe that dates back to the 2G iphone.

I went for the Space Grey 64Gb

Storing stuff on the phone is something I am trying to get into the habit of not doing anyway, given there is so much cloud storage these days. Sure, I'll have iMessage's and some photos and some offline Spotify playlists, but most stuff I use are streamed these days, or could be stored on the cloud. It's like Apps. I have hundreds, and probably only use a dozen regularly enough to warrant taking up space on the phone.

The very rare occasion I need to download a video, say - to watch when travelling, I wouldn't use the phone anyway. I'd download stuff to my iPad Pro or MBP instead. If I want to take any high-end photography I will break out my DSLR. I can't see any need to record long duration 4k video footage during the course of my contract either. HD will be fine, and I have a camcorder for that. Any video I do take can be backed up to the cloud and removed from the phone.

Thats the theory anyway. It's a habit I want to get into as I think lots of space has made us (collectively) lazy and effectively we keep huge amounts of clutter everywhere on our tech these days.

As for the colour, the Silver looks cool - but my gf is getting one of those 'to be different' but in reality, almost as soon as I have it I'll be sticking some case on it, which makes the colour of the back completely irrelevant really.

Silver with the mirror SS frame will deff show scratches just by breathing on it, it's the reason I switched to the black iwatch.

You will never know. What if the black frame on the SG iPhone X when scratched will show silver marks?

The silver frame can be polished once a month to make it look new. How about the black frame?

Like I said, the frame around the silver model will indeed be the same as the watch, which from my own experience is super easy to scratch...air scratches it....lol

I have zero desire to be polishing my phone with polishing cream that can somehow make it onto my phone screen or into it's internals and wreck havoc, just gonna stick with the safer bet which from my own experience has been that black metal Apple has been using on it's watches...looks really stealthy and sharp and to the naked eye you can't see any scratches or smudges.

You are right but Silver iPhone looks stunning. Had a Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus before and before that the Space Grey iPhone 6 Plus and 6s Plus. Need something different to feel like a special 10th Anniversary phone.

I didn’t have time to wait and look at them before deciding so I ordered 256 Black / Space Grey, though I wasn’t sure, I like the silver/white backside but the black vertical camera & vessels look off.
this would be my first black iPhone since iPhone 4.
I really wanted a matte black since I saw the 7+ but oh well...

I agree it does look really nice in silver!

I would have went with it if the bands were a more matte type finish like whats on the 7 and 8 models vs a high polished Stainless Steel...lol I think back to how an ipod looked after a month of use.
 
If I were to buy the iPhone X this time around, I will go for the black version.
I had the 4 in black, and 5s in white, the 6s+ in black.. I kinda wanna go with silver, but i like the professional look the black has. And kinda wanna stick to that :)

That said, the 256 is what i want, i take loads and loads of pictures and 4k video and do long timelapses with procam using max res pictures and all that stuff.. it fills up fast. Thankfully i have enough data to offload the completed stuff to my system at home while i am on location.

I clean up the phone regularly enough and dont have more than 3 games installed basically. So the 64gb i use now has enough space for one or two projects at a time. So i wouldn't mind the 256, but it's just out of budget, i can't justify it.

So 64g is basically what i have to go with. if there was 128 however, i would have done that.

Once i get around to figuring out that i can afford it and saved up some money to pay it off (those darn one time fees hehe) i will spend some time in the amsterdam apple store first to check the screen out and compare it live against the 6s+ that i still have right now. See how it looks for my bad eyes, how the smaller and extra big font works out, how it feels in my hand, how the colors look.

If they dont have black in stock, i will go with silver, i am not going to lose any sleep over it.

backup plan: X64Silver
looking at my wallet right now: 6s+ for another year.

I got Silver because I've only ever purchased the black/grey options for the last several years because they were the only choice that came with black glass on the front. No one wants white glass bezels.
 
I ordered a silver 256gb. Wish Apple did a better job of showcasing the differences of the silver/black surround. I honestly can't tell the difference between their crap images. It'll stink if they do scratch as much as people here are saying. Also a bummer Apple decided to ditch the 128gb capacity option. That was perfect for me on my iP7. Thought about dropping down to 64gb, but would rather have too much space than too little and have to worry about dumping something off at an inopportune time
 
Always gotten Space Gray. Time for a change this time. 256 Silver for me on the way. For some reason, this Silver at least from pictures really caught my eyes.
 
I went with Space Gray 256gb with a delivery date of Nov 3rd. Now I kinda wished I got silver, so I placed another order for a silver 256gb that doesn't get delivered until the 2nd week of Dec
 
For me the two different colors aren't as important as previous iPhone models, due to the fact that both have black fronts. The only concern I have, is if the "silver" would be more distracting to look at from the front, as I suspect the frame would shine a bit more. I like how the black blends into the front.
 
Ordered iPhone X space grey with 256GB - expecting delivery date would be between 2-3 weeks (13 -20 Nov)
