I have a Silver 64GB on order with Verizon but if I'm able to get one at my local store when it opens I may opt for 256GB and simply not upgrade again until ProMotion OLED is a thing.

Actually that's a somewhat true statement (exception being the retail store blocks it to promote their own payment app). Samsung Pay uses MST (magnetic strip transmission), so it sends out a magnetic strip code (of a virtual card of your credit card) when you place it over the area where you swipe your card. You can still use NFC if a terminal supports that. The only places it's not possible are where you have to insert the card in and out (like a gas station).

Actually, it is not. The statement was exact, precise, and was all inclusive and left no room for "somewhat". But that's merely semantics.
In Dallas, if one is accepted the other is as well. But there are far more places that accept neither than those that accept both.

But in the end, it doesn't matter. Use what you want. Spend your money the way you want. Neither is better. Neither is worse. Every person has their own preferences. To say one is arbitrarily worse or better than the other is subjective and relative to that persons situation and does not include all persons and all usage.

FWIW, I still have my original day 1 iPhone 6 Plus. Works great, but albeit not as fast as the new phones.

Space gray 8 / 8 Plus looks hot. I was wrong to underestimate it. The X will probably look similar. It's the more popular color option for X according to the Best Buy employee. Shipping for the sg is one month later than silver.

The sg 8 looks like the rear has oleophobic coating on it. I check jet black 7, black S8, Note8, and Essential.. smudges galore. Not so bad on the 8. The jb 7 showed scratches too.

Sg 8 is a throwback of the black 4 series. I would prefer the silver banding because that's classic iPod and iPhone. But I can't blame anyone going for that stealth, consistent look that matches the sg Apple Watch.

It sucks for us because most of us are judging and ordering it based off videos and photos. It's like the person who isn't photogenic but looks way better in real life. Once we see both in person, it becomes so much easier to pick one.

Ordered iPhone X Space Grey 256GB (was planning on Silver but changed my mind last minute), pick up this Friday

Same phone for me. If the sliver looked a little more like silver and less like white I might have opted for that this time around. Actually, that's the color I wanted in 2007 but ended up with the gray (which had changed over the years, right not looking more black or dark gray) and liking it.

I changed my mind about waiting for the delivery (by the end of the day, 7 pm) at the last minute while driving down the street. Instead I'll be picking it up at the UPS Customer Care Center when they open up at 1 pm. o_O

I went to the Apple Store and tested the iPhone X.

Both models are amazing. Really love the feel of the phone. Super comfortable to hold.

The silver model is better than the grey one. It just catches your attention. You want to keep holding it and not let go.
Yes, I did notice tiny abrasions but it can't be noticed until you look up so close. The shine on the silver model is also nice. The back of the silver model is a mix of gray and champagne combined. Looks nice.

The grey model looks like Jet Black. At the Apple Store the phones were kept near the iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 8 Plus. So when I saw the grey iPhone X and compared to the Jet Black they looked so similar apart for the camera and the size it would be little difficult to tell it's iPhone X.
The grey model has so many fingerprints and smudges. Users will have to wipe the back of the phone often. Even the frame had many finger prints and smudges.

Overall both phones are nice because Apple made a great phone. Can't wait to get mine later this month.

I think I will go with the Silver model. It is what I have been waiting for. A phone from Apple which is not grey or black and has a black front.

So I have both the silver and SG sitting in front of me and I still cannot decide....argh
I'm going to be in the same boat. I have two waiting for me for pickup. I think the silver is very unique, but I also owned the Jet Black 7 which I thought was the best color Apple released (I returned it for the Matte Black since the Jet Black scratched when you breathed on it). It's the first time I can remember (I've had all iPhones since the first) that I've struggled over two colors! My gut says the silver will have the initial wow factor but the SG will have the longterm appeal. They're both just really beautifully designed pieces of hardware that border on jewelry.

And even though I wouldn't buy a phone to match my Apple Watch, I did start out with the SS watch and switched to SB just because of the silver vs black trim.

Saw both in store; also having trouble deciding.

SG definitely looks better in person than in pictures. Silver looks as good as its web presence.

I already said this but silver looks WAY better in the wild than in that in store lighting imo
Yeah, I unboxed both - Space Gray first. That's a really great looking phone - I don't think anyone would be disappointed. But... then you see the Silver iPhone X and it's some next level design. The color contrast is spot on between the front, sides and back. And I don't like chrome/silver usually or anything that might be too 'blingy.' This doesn't look cheap or blingy as others have commented. I had almost the same reaction as when I saw the first iPhone. It's really that good.

the white back looks kinda muddied in the store lighting, but pops and not seeing that same effect in other lighting or outdoors or anything

I really dig the chrome trim, even though I have an otterbox covering it now (the "Statement" case)

I went with white/silver since my first iPhone was white/silver (4S) and I figured since it was Apple's 10 year anniversary of the iPhone, I should pay homage and go with what my first was.
Now I wish I chose Space Gray because maybe I would have gotten my phone delivered faster...and it wouldn't have mattered about how it looked because I'm getting a case...that covers the whole back.

I wanted the 256 space grey but my Verizon store only had the 256 silver (and I was fourth in line this morning). It is very pretty...when it’s not in a case. Lol

I'm glad to hear that. I have a silver X at home waiting to be opened, but I decided to check the colors out first hand at the Apple Store in case I wanted to swap. The silver back did have a cold grey feel to it that I wasn't thrilled about. But I figured it was due to the lighting since the white 8s had the same feel. So I'm glad to hear the silver back takes on a more pleasant color in everyday lighting conditions. I think I'm going to stick to my Silver X... But that SG model was tempting for a moment.

Honestly I genuinely don’t think you can go wrong on either color.

Throw a case on it especially doesn’t matter a ton

FOMO expected bc they really did well with both. Loving my silver but the SG undoubtedly looks class

I just picked up my silver. After a day of using it I'd say what's way more important than the back, is the chrome sides. The SG one really looks black- that's one thing I didn't like about my previous SG, it looked great at the start but was easy to 'misplace' because it just looked too black. The iPhone X SG looks even blacker! The chrome looks really classy, like the old iphones and ipods. Throwback!
