Sure, but it’s not really a collectible as it’s not Apple Original. It’s just a device that has been mutilated by some Swiss dude.Collectors love rare items. Rarer the better. This right now, is one-of-a-kind.

Also used it for CarPlay.I don't see the point of Apple moving off Lightning for the iPhone. It's a cable. It charges the phone and if you connect it to your computer you can copy your music to the phone. I have not seen any article stating that an iPhone with a USB-C port would transfer 2x or 5x or 10x faster my music or somehow make my experience more magical. Yes, in the world outside Apple, in theory, and with the right equipment, USB-C *can* transfer a lot faster than USB 3.0...but you need the right cable, a fast enough drive on one end, a fast enough drive on the other end, and the computer hardware that actually supports USB 3.1x.
My gut says that 90% of the iPhone users out there use the cable only for charging...not transfering data. So what's the point in adopting a new cable (other than for adoption's sake)?
Wouldn't surprise me if Apple bought it from him.
Spoken like someone who’s never tried to move files off an iPhone, and likely just uses their phone to browse safari.I wonder how much a wireless charging iPhone would sell for....
In all seriousness do we really need to change the port when the functionality is basically obsoleted with wireless charging and data transfer? This is seriously the most frivolous thing I've seen. Europe should push for wireless instead of producing waste.
Uhhh…no.I am guessing money wasn't just for the used iPhone. Who ever bought it probably going to reverse engineer and get the patent for it.
Can't tell if joking...I wonder how much a wireless charging iPhone would sell for....

What files are you transferring? Seems like vast majority of people don’t have an issue. I don’t remember the last time I transferred something off my iPhone. I do it all wireless.Spoken like someone who’s never tried to move files off an iPhone, and likely just uses their phone to browse safari.
You know lightning is still on USB 2 speeds, yes?
I’d upgrade from my iPhone X tomorrow if I could get one with USB-C!
I don't get it. Why would anyone pay this money for this.
We already have wireless charging in the iPhones. Yes, I agree that future phones should just be cordless.I wonder how much a wireless charging iPhone would sell for....

MagSafe broke qi charging on all my old pads, even ones purchased from the apple store. It’ll charge, but after a short while the status lights on the pad start blinking and there’s no charge. Have to use MagSafe only. Which is a bummer.I wonder how much a wireless charging iPhone would sell for....

I like lightning way more than USB C for this reason alone. It is more durable & tactile than UsbCThat's a lot of money!
I like the idea of a universal port but the physical USB-C port/plug seems to be worse than lightning. On my old phone the USB-C port got so loose after 2 years that if I touched my phone while it was plugged in the cord would fall out.
Why on earth would they do that? It’s not like he did something that Apple can’t figure out how to do - Apple almost certainly has a variety of iPhones with USB-C ports in their labs, since they have a reputation for prototyping everything. It would be a pointless way to throw away money.Wouldn't surprise me if Apple bought it from him.
Why? So they could learn how to put usb-c on a device they all the schematics for?Wouldn't surprise me if Apple bought it from him.
