I'm hoping it's possible that my phone might have just missed some scans and could already be on it's way to the US.
Anything is possible. I just start to get a bit concerned when I see no movement.

Same. If it truly is still in Asia with no movement then that's definitely not a good thing. Especially when it looks like other people's phones are already in Alaska :(

This is not an accurate way to judge. There is the factor of supply and demand. Demand MAY be higher than last year, and if the supply chain was able to be better prepared than last year's launch, estimates would slip later in the pre-order process.

Last year's X launch if I recall correctly was pretty constrained due to a lot of new tech and a new form factor. This year they should have a much greater availability and expertise in all areas of the XS/XS Max due to the more incremental nature of the update.

Plus, the blogosphere thinks the XR will be the new 5c in hotness.

Just an observation. I have purchased every iPhone to date since the original back in 2007 and I have never seen models still available for launch day delivery or delivery just a week later once pre orders have gone live. Within an hour shipping estimates usually slip to the 4-6 weeks or longer mark.

If you take the iPhone 6 design that’s been in use for 5 years, since around 2013 -14 then Apple would be experts in that form factor. But the iPhone 6s, 7 and 8 all had shipping times slip to way beyond a week hours after pre orders went live.

I think the XS and the Max have sold well but well under expectations. I think only hardcore Apple followers have purchased it day one and the average consumer will have been put off by the pricing and wait for the XR
[doublepost=1537376008][/doublepost]I think it’s a case of the XS models have sold well but under expectations from Apple.

A lot of people expected a price drop since it’s an S year and component prices should have fallen slightly.

However the Max models prices are extremely high for a phone. In the UK you can get a MacBook for the same money.

I think only the Apple hardcore bought it day one bid the average consumer will have been put off by the price and wait for the XR.

Mine is in S Korea. now.

Yeah mine says the same. Apple store STILL shows preparing for shipment. I tracked mine thru UPS and supposedly mine started in zhengzhou China, today it’s in S Korea.

Our phones must be in the same batch. I have the exact time and date (Incheon, Korea) for my tracking number.

Or.... they made more phones so they could be delivering in a more timely fashion.

This could be the case but I’ve purchased every iPhone since the original in 2007 and they’ve never made enough to satisfy day one demand. This is the first time in nearly 11 years I’ve seen stock still available for launch day delivery or delivery just one week after launch once pre orders have been live for a few hours or a day.

If you go to bed on Thursday night and you've not seen movement, it may be a problem. But it is normal for devices to arrive from Asia into Anchorage on Thursday night on their way to Louisville for a Friday UPS delivery in your home town.

My phone did move last night and apparently is now in Louisville, its last scan was departing late last night out of Anchorage. It surprised me by going directly from Zhengzhou to Anchorage on a Kalitta 747 which did not show up in a search for UPS flights, in recent years my iPhones have gone through Incheon from ZhengZhou. FlightAware has dozens of flights by a number of different carriers now in flight to Anchorage.

My Watch still sits in Shanghai. I'm sure it'll be on its way soon. ::grin::

I think they’re missing the scans to be honest. Even from Apple, my phone and watch are preparing to ship. Using the reference number trick (order number minus the last 2 digits, or the 10 digit number associated with the Apple ID), my phone and watch shipments left Anchorage last night.

To everybody who’s nervous, I hope your phones and watches surprise you a day early!!

My order of the XS Max was in preparing for shipment delivering Sept 21st all week until today, now it says arrives Oct 1-3...what gives? I ordered the phone the first minute it was available to order. Should I call support and complain?
[doublepost=1537388407][/doublepost]Mine too. What crap. I ordered within 15 seconds.

Mine left Anchorage over 24 hours ago. Nothing new here. I think they skipped some scans. Hope it shows up soon.

Oh so you’re getting nervous ha!?
Mine is still in prepared for shipment
It’s never happened to me in the last 10 years
First time, and we’re tomorrow on the 9.20

Up until 10 minutes ago, mine was also just preparing to ship according to Apple’s website. NOW it says it shipped....... but UPS (using the method below) says my phone left Anchorage yesterday. (It said Kentucky, but then that changed back to Anchorage strangely enough)

How was I tracking it without my tracking number? Go to UPS.com, track by reference, put your 10 digit number in and choose your destination country. I bet yours is already closer than you think. I’ve done this method for the last few years and it’s accurate. If your phone number doesn’t work, use your order number and delete the last 2 digits- and remember, you have to specify the destination country.

I’ve been following my order On UPS and it’s been stuck at Alaska for a few days. Now I just got my email that my order has shipped. Will arrive tomorrow!

I think it's safe to say my phone is not coming tomorrow since it's still in Korea. Oh well. Hopefully I'll get it next week sometime.

Hope you’re wrong. I think there’s something up with the tracking this year. You’ll probably get it today or tomorrow.

My phone and watch left Anchorage over 30 hours ago and seems to have never been seen again :p ... but apparently after watching it move since Sunday- Apple JUST shipped it this morning around 4 o_O

Also, I refreshed the UPS page and it was in Kentucky. Checked an hour later and it wasn’t, it reverted back to Anchorage....? Checked again an hour after, Kentucky again, hit refresh, and Kentucky disappeared. So that’s new and fun ....?

Same here ... but mine is apparently in a rough on and off relationship with Kentucky (see above...)
