Does anyone know when they will be on display in store? Monday already? Thanks!

The first iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and Apple Watch Series 4 orders placed on the online Apple Store have shifted to "Preparing to Ship" ahead of an expected Friday, September 21 delivery date.

Many orders in the United States, Australia, the UK, and and other countries have changed status and should be shipping out to customers in the near future. Apple Watch Series 4 and iPhone XS orders that have shifted to "Preparing for Shipment" can no longer be modified or canceled.

Apple began accepting pre-orders for the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max on Friday, September 14 at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time. By the time a half hour had passed, many iPhone XS Max models had sold out and were no longer available for launch day delivery.

As of today, new iPhone XS Max orders will not ship out until October, but some models are still available for in-store pickup on September 21 in select stores. Retail stores are also expected to have supplies available for walk-in purchases on launch day.

Supplies of the smaller 5.8-inch iPhone XS are plentiful and that device remains available for Friday delivery.

After orders began shipping, Apple's shipment status information may not be updated right away. Over the course of the next few days, some customers in the United States may be able to track their shipments using track by reference features on the UPS and FedEx websites.

Update: This article has been updated to include the Apple Watch Series 4 as some orders in the United States recently began changing to "Preparing to Ship." Not all Apple Watch Series 4 orders have been updated at this time, while most iPhone XS and XS Max orders are in the preparing to ship phase.

Very excited. Loving life, loving my family. Sending love to all.

Gold XS Max/64GB:

Preparing for shipment. Less than a week to go.
The more I look at that gold color, I'm thinking maybe I should have gone with that as opposed to black (screw "space gray").

They usually show up for display on launch day, so Friday.

The change to "Preparing to Ship" only indicates that your payment has been approved and they are prepared to ship you a phone or watch.

It does not mean that your item is going to ship early. I dont understand the importance of this thread.
Preparing to Ship, means preparing to ship.

Btw, is it at all likely it could even show up Thursday? Or are they pretty good about sticking to the estimated delivery date?
Nope. If they say Friday in the stores? It's Friday at the earliest. Otherwise other customers not-so-lucky would cry 'Foul!'

Someone explain to me why everyone gets all excited every year when things go to "preparing to ship" or "shipped"? In my experience no matter when the status says what, 99% of people seem to get their stuff the same day they were quoted.

Both my XS Max in stainless gold of course and my stainless gold Apple Watch 4 has prepared for shipment. Yayyyyya

cool

This may be a dumb question, but how does everyone on the Upgrade Program have eligibility to upgrade if you have been on the program for years? When the X came out we got it day one (I think), which meant our new loan started end of Oct. Have only made 11 payments - so it shows eligibility of 9/27. I thought everyone’s loan reset when they get the new phone and after having made 12 payments? In that case wouldn’t all existing loan users have the same dilemma? Or are they paying that extra month in addition to the new payment? I almost upgraded but then it seems like it would be best to wait until 9/27.

Same here. I ordered at 12:05am and my XS Max says 9/28 to 10/5. I am hoping its like years past where the shipping estimate moves up closer to launch day.
That is crazy. My first order at 3:08 had the credit card declined. So I placed a new order at 8:30am eastern time with the correct credit card info and my order is preparing to ship. Delivery on 09-21.

live in europe, mine has been preparing to ship for 2 days now. THough, doesnt really matter, they will arrive on launch day nonetheless as the order confirms.

Had to pay the extra month, which I think is ******** considering the released the iPhone X later in the year, it that’s just my opinion on that.

In the past pre-paring to ship was typically a day before it did ship and would delivery 1-2 days later. Since its preparing to ship on the day after (Saturday) and they charged my CC already any chance we will get them early? My AW S4 Hermes is not due until 9-28 to 10-2 and I ordered at 3:10am, must be they don't have many of them available and need to get them put together.

Will this show for people who reserved for pick up in store as well?
I was looking at availability for pre-order and the XS Max Gold 512GB SIM Free in my area was showing pre-order around 10-1 and available for store pickup on 9-21, would say if you pre-ordered for in store you may not see shipment but you will likely get an email saying it will be available on Thursday for Friday pickup.

I’m waiting for the S4 Nike+ version this time. Mainly to give me a little more time to decide, because for the first time ever, I’m contemplating a switch to an Android phone after thinking things over the last few days ... maybe a Pixel 3 if they turn out ok. Won’t be a Samsung, that’s for sure ... I can’t stand TouchWiz, and I have no desire to root or anything like that in order to circumvent it.

Tablets will remain Apple for the time being.

Congrats to those upgrading. For me this is the first time since the iPhone 4 that I’m not upgrading... the massive value loss of the X and the non-existent upgrades of the Xs are my reasons. Sure i’d Like the larger screen, but not worth the €500 difference.

mine still the same :(:(
