Both phone and watch preparing to ship. Ordered on Apple.com.

My card got charged today around 4pm. They charged me the $3000 in three way. I got three texts from my bank. Order is processing though.

My iPhone Xs Max that I didn’t order is prepared to ship :-(. But my series 4 I did order is prepared.

Going to wait until Jan/fed to upgrade from my X
I’ll wait until November so I cover the 12 payments on the Apple Upgrade program. Besides I get to see if there are any early adopter hardware issues.

Beta software I can do, since there is a rollback path. Hardware is a little harder to roll back.

Apple Watch Series 4 is Preparing to ship and delivers Friday by standard shipping. iPhone XS Max will be ready for pick up on Friday at my local Apple store.

May I ask why you chose to wait until then? I also have an X and I’m on the fence!

Let e get this one straight:

Pre-orders taken by what Apple said, actually went out on time or before the date with no chance of date slipping ??

Wow, its a miracle.. That doesn't happen very often. May start taking notes so i can refer back to this the next time it happens :)

The first iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and Apple Watch Series 4 orders placed on the online Apple Store have shifted to "Preparing to Ship" ahead of an expected Friday, September 21 delivery date.

Many orders in the United States, Australia, the UK, and and other countries have changed status and should be shipping out to customers in the near future. Apple Watch Series 4 and iPhone XS orders that have shifted to "Preparing for Shipment" can no longer be modified or canceled.

Apple began accepting pre-orders for the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max on Friday, September 14 at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time. By the time a half hour had passed, many iPhone XS Max models had sold out and were no longer available for launch day delivery.

As of today, new iPhone XS Max orders will not ship out until October, but some models are still available for in-store pickup on September 21 in select stores. Retail stores are also expected to have supplies available for walk-in purchases on launch day.

Supplies of the smaller 5.8-inch iPhone XS are plentiful and that device remains available for Friday delivery.

After orders began shipping, Apple's shipment status information may not be updated right away. Over the course of the next few days, some customers in the United States may be able to track their shipments using track by reference features on the UPS and FedEx websites.

Update: This article has been updated to include the Apple Watch Series 4 as some orders in the United States recently began changing to "Preparing to Ship." Not all Apple Watch Series 4 orders have been updated at this time, while most iPhone XS and XS Max orders are in the preparing to ship phase.

Let’s see if someone can give me some advise.

I’m on the iPhone X on the IUP. My debate is should I say screw it and get the iPhone Xs Max ($4 more / month - not too too bad), or should I pay the x off, next year sell it and use that money towards the iPhone “whatever it will be called”?

Please don’t make this negative, if I bought this thing out right I would wait for the next version, I’m only considering because I’m on the IUP.

I'm in the same boat, and decided to upgrade. I don't think the X will hold its value as well as previous years due to the XR and XS being so similar to it. When you go to sell, your two-year-old X will have to compete with sellers upgrading their cheaper one-year-old XR's, knocking your value down considerably. Let's play devil's advocate and pretend both phones hold a 50% resale value, and same for the XR. In the used market, would you buy a two year old X for $500, or a faster newer XR for $400? I think it's a safer bet to get rid of the X ASAP, while the value is as high as it'll ever be right now-especially if a XS is only gonna cost you $4 more a month.

Not in the UK.
All Xs Max models are still showing available for delivery the last week of September.
"Delivers: 25 Sep - 2 Oct"
Same in Canada, the larger storage options show a later date but the 64gb models have launch day availability.

iPhone Xs Max 256 Silver order confirmation email 11:59 p.m.
iPhone Xs Max 256 Gold order confirmation email 12:01 a.m.
iPhone Xs Max 64 Silver order confirmation email 12:08 a.m.

All preparing to ship from AT&T

Best Buy and ATT have all models available for launch day pickup and delivery. Haven’t seen this much stock or low demand in a while. Lots of People must want that 10R

Any ideas on which shipping company is being used? Most of the time it is UPS but there have been times when FedEx was used and times when both were used.

I checked the reference number trick and so far nothing but I wouldn't expect it to really show up until at least Monday at the earliest.

My ATT NEXT iPhone upgrade was actually surprisingly easy to enter within the hour of on sale. Upgraded from 8 plus to XS MAX. Has pending shipment notification already also.

I’m so happy how B&H was down for maintenance today and that they’re gonna be closed for Yom Kippur on Sept 18th-19th, and says my Apple Watch Series 4 is backordered, even though I put my order through at 3:03am EST on September 14th :mad::mad:

Why they even held a preorder event at 3:01am is beyond comprehension.

I can’t necessarily put all the blame on MacRumors senior editor Juli Clover for her post (https://www.macrumors.com/2018/09/13/third-party-carriers-retailers-iphone-applewatch-preorders/) which swayed me to used B&H, but next year and every subsequent year, please please please Juli, don’t ever mention B&H as a third party retailer that offers preorders for any Apple product. You might as well have added eBay listings, which would probably get me the device sooner.

Both of my XSMax orders are preparing to ship. Can’t wait until Friday. I was surprised that the Max was first in selling its supply. It could mean it is very popular or it could mean that Apple underestimated the demand and did not have enough supply.

For “s” years it’s pretty common to have availability on or near launch date without preordering.

Even for my X I canceled preorder after checking in store availability (day after Friday launch), and was able to pick one up. Trick was to check Apple site early AM when stores updated inventory shipments that same day. At least in major southern CA cities was pretty easy.

Why go through 3rd party when it’s just as easy to use Apple.com ? Or were you trying to avoid paying taxes with B&H? I preordered Apple Watch through iPhone app around 12:15am (after iPhone order), and still have release date delivery.

We ordered through AT&T because the site let us place our orders at around 11:50pm. My husband only ordered a phone and his order is “preparing to ship.” I got both the phone and watch and my order has only progressed to “In progress,” from “Processing.” ... I feel so alone.

What does order in progress mean?

It means we sit, watch, and wait with baited breath while our brothers-and-sisters-in-combat gleefully advance closer to a tracking number.

Mines been showing this since the evening of the 14th (I'm in the UK). I expect it will dispatch Monday or Tuesday, but they are held back for delivery until launch day, unless you are very lucky and one slips through before then :D
