I’d easily give up half my battery life to have a flawless UI. Obviously that’s wishful thinking, but I want to put into perspective how annoying these stutters are for people that are impacted by them. I see a lot of stutters in fortnite and critical ops, basically shooting games that require precise aiming, which is impossible with the panning issues.
It’s annoying the stuttering when panning. When your finger is on the screen and you slowly move it stutters. When you swipe gently and release its better. It’s the same on the whole UI of this phone and scrolling is not how it used to be and as smooth on older devices. Maybe the touch sensitivity 120 hrz touch sampling rates are not calibrated with the phone and all apps have not been updated to sync in with this feature ?

Thanks for the responses so far.

If anyone would like to help me out with giving this issue some more visibility on Reddit:

I could use some support defending against the, “take it to the Apple store” crowd.

I do as well. On third replacement XS at the moment. Must admit the new update beta 2 improved the stuttering and is a massive step forward. I hope the next one is better as well.

I am having the same issue with empires and puzzles. Playing this game on my iPad Air 2 is smooth as silk so don’t play it on the XS anymore.

Hopefully if you get a replacement it may be better but not convinced that only few models are affected. If the software can improve all the stuttering then it can be fixed but at a compromise where we may find battery performance degrade. I would prefer smooth UI over battery performance and I am sure others would as well.

How would you describe the puzzles game. I notice that I’ll be in a mission and the gems are all flowing smooth and then all of a sudden for seemingly no reason they start stuttering and all the animations get choppy.

Guys with XR also experience this stuttering?
I heard some people say no but then I found some who think it’s also happening to that phone.

It could be something to do with the A12 chip and how it uses resources if I have read things correctly.

Finally I managed to update to 12.3 beta 3. I'm starting to test, the first thing that caught my eye is the increased animation speed compared to 12.3 beta 2.

Please let me know how it goes.

Because I have to decide if I’m exchanging by tomorrow.

huhuhu Ladies and gentlemen, another step in the right direction. It's faster and better. At this moment. It is a pity that in any case then disappointment comes.

Hold off .
[doublepost=1556053827][/doublepost]There are a lot of factors that make up the judgment. At the moment I'm happy. The device changes the performance of your work based on temperature, solar radiation, or type of light, connectivity Whether WiFI or LTE. Battery charge status. My criteria is the perfect fluidity of all Animations and page scrolling in the field of 100% 20%. I'll let you know tomorrow.

I received a private message from support. "Version 12.3 beta 3 introduces numerous bug fixes for errors you have reported"

Keep your fingers crossed for the fact that together with others, it tries to move heaven and earth to restore the splendor of IOS. on new devices. I send recordings for support in detail describing problems that others seem to not see.

Yeah I feel like they are just avoiding acknowledging the issue.

They would have a lot more favor with people if they actually were better at communicating what they are working on fixing. Their documentation is terrible.

After testing the IOS Beta 3 for 12.3 I can safely say it’s a turd in terms of fixing the stuttering issues.

It’s a no go.

The thing is Apple may have prioritized this at the bottom of the list. They may be dealing with more pressing updates to IOS. While this may be important to you to fix, it may not be important to apple, at the moment. And Apple will probably fix this in their own time.

I was waiting for you to chime in. Patiently.

I have read every post in this thread up and down. It only took one day being on here to realize that you have nothing to say.

The very FIRST time you said that YOU didn’t see the issue was the end of your constructive contribution to the thread.

Everything else has been that of the contrarian devils advocate who literally just has to say something just to say it. You have pointed out that it doesn’t affect you and your opinion that it’s no big deal to you or apple.

While you may not be saying anything vulgar or breaking any rules, you’re two degrees away from being a repetitive troll in this thread nonetheless.

That’s about all I’m going to acknowledge you and pretty much anything else you post in this thread will be completely ignored by me and I honestly suggest everyone else follow suit.

This may be an important point regarding apple’s timeline, to be acknowledged, to this rather off-topic post.;)

Today it is cloudy because I can not check how the device behaves in the light of the sun. However, my impressions are as follows. 12.3 beta 3 is another improvement but it does not eliminate stuttering in 100%. The first moments of testing were free of errors in operation. The device was charged to 67% of the battery. Then I connected the charger to this morning. Then, having 100% charge, WiFI connectivity continues the device works fine. Then I go to work, connect with the car and work ok. Now I'm at work the device has joined LTE, the e-mail application when checking messages, opening and closing does not work so smoothly. you can see stuttering. At the moment, so much the rest work ok.
