Today it is cloudy because I can not check how the device behaves in the light of the sun. However, my impressions are as follows. 12.3 beta 3 is another improvement but it does not eliminate stuttering in 100%. The first moments of testing were free of errors in operation. The device was charged to 67% of the battery. Then I connected the charger to this morning. Then, having 100% charge, WiFI connectivity continues the device works fine. Then I go to work, connect with the car and work ok. Now I'm at work the device has joined LTE, the e-mail application when checking messages, opening and closing does not work so smoothly. you can see stuttering. At the moment, so much the rest work ok.

Well, sounds like Apple's on the right path. You don't mention anything about video stutter though, do you have that at all anymore? Is it only the UI at this point?

currently 67% of the battery. It looks as if the device from 70% down activates the operating mode which eliminates all described problems. The question is why the maximum performance of the device is included below 70%? And not from full 100%. I will add that you can only observe it with all possible screen animation enabled. I need to send an accurate report to Apple support.

Everything you ask is connected to each other. Device performance management is reflected in all fields. Describing problems with a person will bring us here to one topic anyway.

I've actually noticed that on my 7 Plus as well. While I was out yesterday it was quite sunny and the brightness was all the way up. I pulled up Control Center and it just kept dropping frames like crazy, swiping up and down (opening and closing CC). The battery percentage was beyond 70.

But if I bring the brightness down to zero and the battery is kind of low, it's smooth as butter. Weird af.

You would think it's the other way around.

The temperature of the device at a given moment activates the given operating mode. following this line of thinking 100% charge, and the previous charging warmed up the device so that it does not work according to its capabilities. This is a problem and you have to talk about everything.

Thanks for the responses so far.

If anyone would like to help me out with giving this issue some more visibility on Reddit:

https://www.reddit.com/r/iphone/com...uttering/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app

I could use some support defending against the, “take it to the Apple store” crowd.

How would you describe the puzzles game. I notice that I’ll be in a mission and the gems are all flowing smooth and then all of a sudden for seemingly no reason they start stuttering and all the animations get choppy.
[doublepost=1556033545][/doublepost]
I heard some people say no but then I found some who think it’s also happening to that phone.

It could be something to do with the A12 chip and how it uses resources if I have read things correctly.
Yes same stutter with gem drops. Does not do it on my iPad Air 2

"For all who suffer from Stuttering, I encourage you to test 12.3 beta 3. Eventually, the stuttering problem will be solved with the advent of IOS13 and the dark theme of the whole interface so as to bring out all the advantages of the OLED panel. UI scaling will not load the CPU enough THROUGH and THROTTLING will be reduced to a minimum. All major changes are reserved for the premiere of IOS13. Beta testers can submit their comments and share insights of the changes made. "

Unfortunately I have to disagree. While there were some interesting changes in these betas, the issue we have been describing here hasn’t been solved. The scrolling issues and momentary slowdown in games is still there.

Today I replaced my XS Max with a second XS Max. There was no difference. The stuttering still there. If I were to hazard a guess it probably is something with the way the platform is handling its resources. The phone is a speed beast and whatever this is is holding back the platform from the mostly objective smoothness that many have come to expect from Apple.

All in all I do feel better knowing it’s not JUST my phone. Or if it is, that is a decent enough sample size that the issues will be addressed. Hopefully it is not a limitation of the way in which this hardware was produced. I’m holding out for software improvements.

Sorry to hear that 12.3beta3 does not change anything for you. Do not worry Apple will fix it, so at least they say with support. What you can do is use the Feedback App and try to send a video of this to you on your device. On the other hand, it is evident that the scale of people who are beginning to see what is increasing is a matter of consciousness.

Can beta damage the iphone? If not, should I test it? :D

@Robertoxxxl - Let me get this straight. This is a message (from the screenshot) that you received from Apple and they're telling you that your issues will be fixed in the next iOS beta update, which is 12.3 beta 4 (presumably)?

Is this correct?

I read this as the issue is having to have beta 2 installed before you can install beta 3 will be fixed. It appears he cannot load beta 3 because he doesn't have beta 2 installed. Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but that's how I interpret it.

Yeah for whatever reason if you haven’t yet tried one of the betas and aren’t already on 12.3 beta 1 or 2 you can’t install beta 3 over the air.

I had to download an ipsw manually to even install it.

And no beta IOS will not break your phone. It may cause erratic behavior and data loss in some cases but no permanent damage.

Anyway, I have sincere hopes that everything is being repaired, as promised. Beta 2 was the first signal for me. Beta 3 another step forward, Finally something is happening!

I would love it very much, I know that you are waiting just as patiently.

I went to Apple today and showed the shuttering again. This time, the employee said that it is normal and not a hardware problem but to do with the software. In all apps i see shutteeing while scrolling. Lol, they really have no idea why.. :D

You have stuttering in all apps? Can you take a video to show safari, news, Apple apps?

Something interesting I’ve noticed is that the second iPhone XS Max I got from Sprint was loaded with iOS 12.1. I’ve held off on updating for testing.

Oddly enough it still stutters in pretty much everything but it’s MUCH less noticeable.

It feels almost as if newer updates have been making it worse.

I thought the iphone Xs seems quite smooth in all of the apps that I use. The only app that stutters is youtube where you scroll the comment section while a video is playing, but it is smooth when you stop playing the video.

I do have to say though that I can understand the other perspective a little more.

While I can’t say for sure “every” iPhone this gen has this issue (I simply can’t prove that), I think it’s affecting a decent amount. I and others have replaced or exchanged our phones and have found the choppiness to remain. I feel it’s probably in the software realm of things.

Having spent a few days having acknowledging that it’s something I just have to wait for Apple to either resolve or pass off to ios13, for me personally I’m having a fairly easy time just ignoring it. Or maybe not so much ignoring as just accepting it as normal for now. I DO think it’s something that some people are just not going to notice because either they really can’t see it or they don’t see it as much of a big deal or a problem necessarily needing solving.

It’s certainly annoying when you’re very sensitive to things like frame rates and refresh rates and stuff, to not have the same smooth experience you normally expect from Apple. And it’s because they have been so good at “smoothness” that it’s a nuisance and disorienting to see from them.

I can wait for a few more updates, I’m just gonna ignore it.

Guys, iOS 12.3 beta 4 (Developer) is out. Feedback from it will be highly appreciated! Thanks. :)
