seems better with iOS 12.0.1 but I need more time to see if stuttering has gone completely
[doublepost=1539020196][/doublepost]Stutters remain

I returned my XS last week. The stuttering is just unacceptable. Still happened even after a fresh install and set up as new.

I’m guessing a lot of people have the issue, but simply don’t notice it. I mean there are people that say they don’t notice a difference between 30fps and 60fps, or between 1080p and 4K, etc. Some people just don’t have the eye for that kind of stuff. I do. And once noticed, it cannot be unseen.

Meanwhile, my X still runs perfectly smooth. Decided it’s not worth a $1,000 for upgrades speakers and camera, but downgraded iOS performance. For the first time, I’ll wait it out this upgrade cycle.

Same here. It’s unfortunate because I’m a bit of an audiophile and the XS speakers were noticeably better, but not at the expense of a smoother operating phone. I am curious though, how long it will take Apple to fix this. In my experience, most performance updates don’t come until .3 versions.

I really need this to start working smoothly, it's killing development. I'm probably going to have to return my XS this week.

i am quite pessimistic. As most people do not notice this issue, apple will not fix it soon.

Well a number of games are suffering from frame drops on the XS which is rendering them unplayable. I'm not sure Apple can ignore that for too long.

EDIT: Has anyone found an XS that doesn't have this issue yet? I'm seriously surprised at all of the critic reviews stating how "smooth" and "fast" the device is. I'm on my second return, will I get a "smooth" device eventually?

I really did like the noticeably better speakers. It was even noticeable just when typing. The clicks were much more solid. Music had more depth. And of course pictures were amazing. Just a bummer about the OS though. I even had some apps that wouldn’t even open on the XS, yet work perfectly fine on the X. That makes no sense. Combined with the stuttering and slower LTE speeds, that was just too many strikes for me to warrant the upgrade.

Just goes to show that the X is a fantastic phone.

I am waiting for the public beta to test but I am not really confident that it contains a fix.
According to me, this stuttering issue will never be fixed
I think it will be, I just do not see it happening until a much later build.

Hey, today my glas screen-protector on my XS broke. Due to the fact that I don’t have a new one here right now, I noticed a significant improvmeent of the stutter, especially when scrolling. The effect is so drastic that it can’t be a coincidence nor a placebo.

Therefore my question, are you tried using your devices without a screen protector?Maybe the display drivers are a bit too sensitive oder insensitive? (Maybe totally nonsense since I’m not a technician of any kind)

Personnally I do not use a screen protector and I have the stutters

I never use screen protectors or cases, and my XS had the stutter.

No screen protector here, only a bumper case and it still stutters.

Best we can hope for is that enough people fill out the Apple feedback form.

Yes i hope it will be fixed
I think that 100% of the devices are impacted.
My brother who bought an Xs as well had told me that he did not notice the stutters. Today I tested his device and I was able to reproduce the stutters.

Bottom line is : all devices are impacted but not all users notice it.

Hello guys, i’m from România, have an iPhone xs and is very laggy in almost apps I used. Should I go for a return, or Apple will fix the problem very soon and wait for this? :(

you should wait for the fix

I also noticed this today in safari. My screen would flicker for an instance or so at certain times when scrolling and it’s annoying. I am using iOS 12.1 beta 3. Hope this can be fixed.
