With the exception of one or two people on this thread the everyone else who has ordered a 64gb black or white is on backorder status. I ordered a white 64gb Friday at 5:05 am and I am also showing back order.
 
so. y'all do realize that this is a phone, right? Its not a pacemaker or living organ that you're going to DIE without. If you don't have it on the 14th, no one will die, you won't be beaten, the phone will still be a valid purchase the next day, the next week, even the next month. Chill.

Oh Dude, I am sorry you missed the cut off. There is a 1-2 week delay at least Oct 21- Oct 28. I would call 1-866-391-0749 to check on your order to get better look at where you stand.

What are you talking about Terms of Agreement? Why do you think that you are not getting it on Friday Oct 14? What time did you order? Oct 7?

Mine is exactly like yours and I do believe that I am getting mine shipped Thursday and arriving Fri Oct 14. I think yours should be the same unless you ordered on Saturday.

I think I put the fear he'd be late in him because our order processes were the same. We talked to ATT and there was an email they sent which required that we click a link to accept terms of the order or something.

It was pretty strange.

However, I remembered to do it right when it came and now my order screen says that I ordered it on 10/7. He didn't notice it until monday (10/10) and now his order says his order date is 10/10 though he did the whole process on the 7th with the rest of us.
 
I never got a terms of agreement email from AT&T.. Is this bad? I ordered in store @0900 alaska time.. Really hoping I get it on the 14th..

On another note, why do people feel the need to list all of their i devices? I've never really understood that. Of course some people list their bikes on my sportbike page and markers on many of the paintball forums but I don't get them either..... I just don't get it.

Lol. It's about time someone pointed that out. I really don't understand why people think other people (who you really don't know) would care about what you own or don't own. If it's for bragging rights, congrats on being the epitome of consumer overspending, materialism, and greed of today's society.

I think the logic behind it is that when you are asking for help you don't have to specifically define what device you're referring to because it's listed in your sig. Could be wrong but that's what I thought it was for anyway, many just use it for bragging how many apple products they've bought, which I really couldn't give two ***** about. :)

indeed, but that is not the point. It is about EXPECTATIONS. Company's promise something, people plan for it. Logistically, with an order like this someone has to be HOME and that means often away from work or plan around it. That type of thing for many cannot simply be a moving target. It's also about planning. I am sure some people have sold their current devices while EXPECTING to get their replacement device on Friday, as expected. When a company really screws up like this it does a lot for the negative good will directed towards them and/or any respect that one might have for their ability to operate effectively.

well, to be perfectly honest with you, YES!

the AT&T rep whom I spoke with to make my order (since I wanted to keep the 5$ footlong plan on my account) said,

"these items are to be shipped BY the 13th for delivery on the 14th"

unquote.
 
In 2 days on Thursday Oct 13, AT&T orders will ship that was ordered early in the day on Oct 7. In 2 days you AT&T orders will get shipping confirmation since ours are in the warehouse already in the United States. So rest easy only 3 more days not counting today of course.

I noticed the same thing. I was told the authorization would be on my card until it was shipped and then it would turn into a charge.

I called AT&T customer care and they cant seem to give me any status on my order or confirm it is even really on order. She asked me if I responded to the email accepting Terms of Service which I never received (I thought that is what I signed at the store when I upgraded and ordered the black 64GB in the store at around 1pm CST which shows 3pm CST in the confirmation email I received). I was told I have to speak to the rep who placed my order in the store (which I am waiting for him to call me back).

I just want to make sure my phone is on order and am really hoping to receive Friday otherwise I will go to the store in the middle of the night and wait in line...:rolleyes:

Actually the authorization will automatically fall off after a few days normally but they will charge it for real most likely either Wednesday or early Thursday if it is to be shipped by Thursday.
 
I ordered mine in an ATT store on Friday around 5:30pm PST on 10/7, got a confirmation email just bore 7PM and it's still showing as backordered, but with an order date of 10/7. I paid with a debit card in store and there's a hold on the charge, but hasn't gon through yet. I'm not too worried, I won't even be around Friday, so the earliest I would get it is Monday. I think most people who ordered on 10/7 will get it by at least next week, which it seems is pretty good according to the current wait times.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if some people told 14-21 days or 21-28 days get it next week. They've gotta cover their asses from angry people (aka this forum) who don't get it immediately, but I can guarantee they're doing all they can to get these to everyone ASAP.

And your current iPhone 4 mysteriously stopped working on the day the 4S was announced?

I guess that I am fortunate to own a 3GS since it it still working...

It's no wonder Apple has so many iPhone 4S orders!!!

Yesterday evening I called because I was unable to see my order status online.... seeing that I placed my order on the 9th.... I was then told that I was to under go another credit check....:confused: WHATT!!?! I told them that they got all of this information from me earlier in the day and that I was told that I was approved!!! I was then told that I needed to still give my info for them to help me..... I let them varify me AGAIN and was put on hold from about 10:30pm to 11:40pm while they run my information... The rep came back to the phone and told me that My information was in the system and that they saw thai I was varified earlier in the day. She told me that the previous rep had not updated my information with the credit department and this was the reason why I had not been able to check my sttus online. She also told me that she had to manually push my order through as verified and that I should be able to check my order status online shortly. I said ok and hung up the phone... Now at around 2:30 this morning I checked my order status and it says ( for 3 IPhones..all of them are the 3s 8gb models...not going for the new version yet) Anyway... this is what I saw...

Now imagine seeing this for 3 of the same type of Iphones! I have 7 total orders and this includes FREIGHT!

My thing is I have no idea as to what is going on or why I have yet to hear from them about when I will be getting anything! All I know is I'm stuck waiting on somthing that was supposed to be shipped out in 2 days! Can anyone please explain whats going on to me?? I am new to the IPhone and a former windows phone user. I did'nt have this much of a hassle with shipment of my windows phone or blackberrys. I ordered through at&t. No special orders, no business accounts, no apple online orders,etc. Thanks... any feed back as to when I will get my devices will be nice. Please let me know how long it took for you guys to get off of back-orders too... I hate to think I am the only one who experienced this. (so sorry for the long message) :(

:confused: I just got another e-mail from at&t that said (once again) that they need more info from me. I contacted them to see what was going on and the lady told me that they failed to update the system from last night. My status is still the same and I should expect my order to be shipped out by tomorrow morning. She said that the back-order does not apply to me because it is only a high demand for the 4s. I guess this should make me happy, but I am tired of them sending me e-mails like there is somthing wrong on my part.:mad:

Are you saying your order will ship out tomorrow? Is it a 4s iPhone?
Did she happen to say if you would get it early like Thursday?
