TSS server on TinyUmbrella is another to communicate with the Cydia server.

hello everyone,

I bought an a 3G about a week ago. After Jailbreaking it and unlocking it worked perfectly for 4days and then started draining the batter (1% every minute!!)
anyways I was told best way is to restore. Since the baseband change or whatever, I can't update through itunes anymore it would say error and bring me back to the connect to itunes screen. I tried Ireb, quickpwn and even tried rejailbreakin but it brought me back to the same screen, now I have an idea of what to do, all I need is a custom Ipsw 4.2.1 how would I maeke it or better yet where would i download it, thanks

To make a custom ipsw you must have a Mac and use PwnageTool. If you're on windows machine just search for one and find a site you can trust.

Hello Guys and everybody who is having problem with this issue.

I decided to share with a solution for those who having trouble, i have an iphone 3GS 4.2.1 and i jailbreak it and updated to 6.15.00, it took me a long time to figure out the solution and i ran across this guide and i got it working.

Note: I tried this fix for 3GS only, and it worked perfect.

Once you upgrade your baseband to 6.15.00 you cannot update your phone with apple original firmware in future.

Tools needed…..

1 . Custom firmware for iphone 3GS 4.2.1 Download here

2. Redsnow – Downlaod Here

3. Apple original firmware 4.2.1 for 3GS Download Here

1. Connect your phone with PC.

2. Open redsn0w_win_0.9.6b5 and choose Original 4.2.1 firmware…

3. If you have new bootroom just press “yes“

4. now click “Next“

5. Choose “Just Enter pwned DFU mode right now“

6 now click “Next” again “Next” and follow the screen….

After that open itunes and press “Shift + Restore” and choose custom firmware 4.2.1…

it will finish very quickly …… Your iphone should be able to finish with no errors, and should be working, this part is Done..

Now if you want to jailbreak and unlock follow Next...

1. Connect your iphone with PC

2. Open redsnow and choose Original 4.2.1 firmware…

3. If you have new bootroom just press “yes“

4. now click “Next“

5. Choose Only “Install Cydia“

6. now click “Next” again “Next” and follow the screen….

Note you will probably getting White Cydia Icon just switch off your phone and open redsnow choose Stock firmware 4.2.1 and choose the option “Just boot tethered right now” and click “next” again “next” then follow the screen…then you will see the cydia…

Finally you can see your iphone with 6.15.00 Baseband now just install the ultrasnow 1.2 from Cydia adding this link “ultrasn0w.com“ and every time it tells you to restart do so, and after each restart in order for cydia to work follow these steps

open redsnow choose Stock firmware 4.2.1 and choose the option “Just boot tethered right now” and click “next” again “next” then follow the screen…

You shold now be all set. :):):):)

You are welcome, i am happy that it helped you, i researched so much about it and ill tell you those guides just confuse you even more, people just have to understand that without a custom firmware it wont work, hope more and more people with this issue can read this guide.:)

I found a custom ispw but now a bigger problem // gave it to a friend ... and i got the iphone back, when I boot it up, it gets stuck on the apple logo with the loading bar under, the bar is stuck at less than 5%
can't use tiny umberalla and others cuz its not even recognized .. i think its really bricked this time

lol i don't want to spam, but this might help other people, to get out of the frozen apple and loading bar screen, just hold the home and power button until it turns off, then hold the home button and plug it into the computer, that should bring you back to connect to itunes, as for me no matter what I do, redsnow restore blah blah, goes back to connect to itunes :( ... I even tried the method above, i get an error message in itunes, sayin can't connect to itunes server
any help is appreciated, I would upgrade to iphone 4 right now but too much money

When you saw the Apple stay on for a while, you then have to use redsn0w and boot up tethered.

The model I have is iphone 3gs which used to work in 4.2.1 and it recently crashed that I need to do reimage again.

I tried exactly the option above and I still cannot fix the itunes restore screen. It is a bit strange itunes says I am not in restore mode but it says it will only allow emergency calls.

Here is the link that I downloaded the customer firmware and any help is greatly appreciated.
http://rapidshare.com/#!download|33...1_4.2.1_8C148a4.2.1Custom_Restore.ipsw|415713

Basically I am stuck for the last three days and no solution is helping in my case.

If you're on the Emergency Screen, you have to activate your iPhone.

If you're on the Emergency Screen, you have to activate your iPhone.

I used the following instruction to activate the phone and still is the same issue

http://www.dkszone.net/activate-iphone-3gs-3g-ultrasn0w-1-2-fix-battery-drain-redsn0w-0-9-6b6

where it says insert a sim card to activate with a connect to itunes logo.

I do slide to unlock that shows up on the phone.

Please also note that the itunes logo still stays on the phone it is just that the itunes software in the computer does not indicate it to be in recovery mode.

Again any help or pointers is greatly appreciated.

NEED HELPPP!!! URGENT!! iPhone 4 STUCK IN RECOVERY

Hey,
I jailbroke my iPhone 4 using Redsn0w (4.2.1 firmware) and the jailbreak was tethered. Worked fine for the last couple of weeks... was able to boot tethered when switched off etc. no problems until yesterday when I turned my phone off during the day and then went to turn it back on and it froze at the apple logo so I left it... thinking I'd need to book with Redsn0w. However, I think that the battery ran out or something and now I'm unable to book with redsnow... been charging all day today and just won't go into DFU mode... It's STUCK IN RECOVERY MODE... iTunes won't detect it and it isn't really detected by the computer... tried to force it out with TinyUmbrella but didn't work... what can I do?

Have your iPhone connected to your computer and put it in DFU mode. Hold down the power and home buttons until the screen turns off. When the screen turns off hold on the home button until the iTunes and USB screen pops up. Rinse and repeat if necessary. Then restore. iTunes will pick up your iPhone and say it's in recovery mode.
