Youtube not working

I just installed the 2.0 update and youtube gives me the message that you have to connect to iTunes within an internet connection to enable youtube. Anyone else have this happen to them?

quick recap
downloaded the update manually thru the link
installed and verification went smoothly
forgot to backup so lost my songs
the real dodgeball was it wouldnt connect to my router properly, so i had to reset that
am up and running fine now

Previous to 2.0 when I have synched my Touch the screen displays the battery icon and says something like "Syncing in Progress". After the 2.0 upgrade the screen is not on however the iTunes is showing the syncing activity. :apple:

Is it just me or are others seeing the same thing?

An inquiring mind... :(

Can anyone tell me where the backup is placed on the hard drive?
IMHO it's a redundant waste of space and I'd like to get my precious gigs back...

Im pretty sure it only backs up your settings and apps and little thngs liek t hat not all your media so it shouldn't be taking up that much space.

Yes this is happening to me. Otherwise my ipod seems to be functioning as normal. There is probably a new version of the youtube app for this version of the firmware . . . not sure how one would obtain it. Most of us jumped the gun and installed from the sneaky link, so who know what wrenches we're throwing in the works.

Yesterday we got the app store early because someone rummaged about in the iTunes store. Anyone found the iPod Touch 2.0 page?

It just seems that iTunes can't make the link between clicking the Learn More button and getting to the required page.

So frustrating. It should have been slipped out yesterday with no fanfare along side the App Store...

Yes. Just installed it and it works fine.

Only Youtube is acting strange. It say's that I have to set it up through an iTunes that is connected to the internet. But since I've never used Youtube on the iPod Touch it doesn't bother me.

yes - many people are over reacting - myself included.

but come on - this cock up is monumental! i've really only been checking once in a while (say 12 times since 8h30am EST) and have been told 6 times that my version is up to date alternating with "a new version is available" followed by the error page. what kind of message does that send out? it is a PERFECT recipe for people to get frustrated with apple.

it's like having vicky pollard right in your face saying: "yeah but no but yeah but no but yeah"

Has anyone here updated to 2.0 the "legit" way by paying yet? If so, it'd be good to know if those folks ALSO see the YouTube error. Seeing as how it should be the same sw file, I'd think bugs would happen on both.

Maybe the iTunes Activation servers being down is causing all YouTube on 2.0 to have an error

I've had my first ever full-on ipod crash and reboot. Happened when I started the remote app. I'm running the sneaky download firmware . . .

i get the error from the youtube app too, havent tested everything else yet tho

like i said, ill just use this until the official link works

Once the official link works....

If we still wanted to buy the legit version, when we buy it would it overwrite the one we already have?
