iPod Touch 2.0 Firmware Update (Almost) Live

WHY? WHY would Apple put a link on their freakin page to get the 2.0 update if it's obviously not working? :(
Also, why I am getting these notifications IF IT'S NOT DOING ANYTHING WHEN YOU CLICK ON THE DAMN BUTTON!!!!!!!!!:mad: Ok... I'll stop now...

I've been updating that damn page since forever and I'm thinking it's not really worth it...

I'm going to bed and will watch a nice old episode of OUTER LIMITS (I guess my limit has been reached)

So.. Goodnight all you people still without any luck...

Maybe if we're lucky we'll have it by tomorrow.. worst case scenario is that we'll get it sometime next week.

I am really hoping they have this up soon!! As in tonight!! They kept all the links up on their site today to get the 2.0 upgrade so I would think that they must be working on it. I think that if it was going to be Monday, they would have taken the links down. I don't think they want to mislead people all weekend. Take my 10$!!!! I want you to have it!! I just want the update!! Too much taunting!!! :D LOL
 
I just don't understand why Apple didn't plan for all of these problems... Why does it have to be downloaded thru iTunes? Why not give us a different way to download it?
 
Almost 12 hours after the launch and still no update. I'm ****ing pissed. :mad::mad::mad:

This is def the worst launch in the history of Apple!
 
and once again, iTunes server is melting.....

I believe....


Only thing that is keeping the iPhone activation server alive is giant block of ice cubes stacked on top of heat stone hot Xserve system.....

Just to leave you with a positive thought...

Maybe if we'll all WISH for a next week release, we might get it for free! For all our troubles.

And if we use Murphy's Law, and we ALL wish to save 10 bucks... when we have enough people wanting that, it will magically go online at that very moment!

ok, I don't want to make you all superstitious.... just imagine if we don't get it this weekend, we 'might' get it for free!
 
Has anyone successfully managed to restore 2.0 to 1.1.4? It's not that I really want the old version, but I figured I would just download 2.0 to figure out what apps I wanted, then restore, and download the official one when it was ready in order to pay $10. But since I can't restore, I can't really do that... I guess worst case I'll just email Apple and tell them to charge $10 to my account...

If you could get the Software Update 2 hours before it comes out (whenever that is) would you agree to pay double the price for it?

i tried doing the update this time and the error didnt come up, but it just goes back to the page where you click on update then click "more info" and it keeps looping between the two, is anyone else getting this?

Depends on how long from now those two hours are. lol

That's been happening to me. Sometimes I get an error and sometimes I don't.
 
Why didn't they release 2.0 at the beginning of the week? Get all these hiccups and hangups out of the way first before the app store even went up? People could be handing cash over hand over fist today for all the apps they'd otherwise be downloading right now instead of still waiting waiting waiting for the update to work under the overload...

Cart before horse in this case I think, putting the app store up first before the firmware update.
