iPod Touch 2.0 Firmware Update (Almost) Live

Unknown Error -4

When I clicked on 'buy software update' from the Apple website link, I received the following message: Unknown Error -4.

Since then I clicked the link again and this time 'Accessing iTunes Store' went for 10+ seconds and nothing happened.

C'mon Apple, we need you to get this update available!!
 
This is silly. We should be happy for what we have...




Just kidding. WE WANT 2.0!
 
I'm living in good old Germany and actually it's 2:10am in the morning.

I'm sitting here for 14 hours (with a few little and a big break of 3 hours) and still waiting for this update.

It's enough! I'm going to bed now and when I wake up at about 11am, there will be everything working fine (please, oh big Steve!), 'couse most of you in the US of A will be sleeping and not treating the poor server with you "Update-Clicking". ;-) :p

PLEASE STEVE!!!!!

I suppose your answer was for me then. As I said in another post, I have not read every single post in here. Just reading a couple of the posts and demands are enough to label it as a Ridiculous thread. Actually, the thread should be an OK topic, the problem is the anger management issues shown by some fellow posters.

Im at my friends house, and theres no itunes.
So has the Ipod Touch Updat 2.0 come yet?\
please say yes :)
 
I think I'm the only lucky one with iPod1,1_2.0_5A347_Restore.ipsw and this error message when restoring to 2.0:

Any thoughts?
 
Is anyone else clicking "update" then "learn more" and then just having it bounce immediately back like it doesn't even do anything???

Could it be...a SIGN!! :D
 
Server Priority!

Apple is giving server priority to iphone users first
When the crush is over, then the lonely IPOD users get there chance

too bad Apple is now forgetting the once famous ipod, over there IPHONE

Once again, sorry to be the breaker of bad news but no, it still hasn't officially come out.

iTunes will now recognise that your iPod touch needs to be upgraded to 2.0 and a dialog box will come up asking you if you want to 'Learn More' but at the moment this is a dead link. Most countries now have links from their respective Apple websites (eg: US, UK, AU, NZ etc) to the 'Learn More' page but this isn't working either. Hopefully it will be soon.
 
:eek:At present iTunes is ' Preparing iPod for Software Update' .......I used the torrent I d/loaded............I wont post the link until I'm 100% sure it works guys..........Keep Ya Posted

EDIT3: 'Updating iPod Firmware'
EDIT4: Wahoo............All done.....Just going through the restore process but it def is installed as the App store was on my homepage before I started the restore.....Only 21GB of media to transfer....

Agree...

And not to defend anybody here but since Apple had problems with the Server to activate the new iPhone 3G and ATT and Rogers/Fido in Canada were having delays with it, it sounds reasonable to think that Apple focused on solving that one first.
