The iPod touch isn't the iPhone; it doesn't get nearly as much attention even though we all love it.

I'm sorry if I sounded a bit rash; I guess I'm just getting a little impatient with the whole "no specific release date" on Apple's part. At least now we can assume it won't be too long because there are plenty of people in Japan walking around with these now. And they got them from actual stores! I guess it does make sense in terms of location (Japan being much closer to China where these are actually made).
oh, ****. I might go to reseller to check it out. I guess that it will be similar in Korea. if it won't, well, wait for it more longer. but I think that it will definitely be available next week.
I especially feel bad for the people who pre-ordered on September 14th and are still waiting to know when their iPod will even ship and now people are buying them instantly from stores (in Japan). That's tech life, I suppose... I'm just glad I decided to wait until these were actually in stores in the U.S. so I can check out the colors in real life before I buy. Otherwise, I would have been refreshing my order status page constantly like other people are doing now.

I believe the Japanese stores had them in "limited supply" so I don't know if you'll find too many resellers. Then again, who knows what their definition of "limited" is. If it's anything like Apple's definition of "coming soon" or "October", I think it's safe to say that it is a very vague term.

just got info that my Touch is finally on its way!!! yes!! estimated: october 15
Mine has shipped as well (black 32GB not engraved)! AWESOME.
Don't feel too bad about the October 15th. I ordered a MacBook Air a few months ago, expected to arrive on Monday, ended up getting it Friday morning. There's still hope!
is there a way to track it like on what flight its on; similar to what people did with their iPhone pre-orders? That will be neat!

Thanks for the heads up mate! It's quite a shame for apple to start selling the devices outright in stores when us preordered them and have to wait! Especially in Australia, we are 2 hours ahead of Japan!
I didn't know that Australians *********s "mate" also! What's even more a shame is that Japanese stores gave Japanese consumers a SPECIFIC date of when the iPods would be in the stores way ahead of time and they stuck to it whereas many people in other countries pre-ordered their iPods and still had no specific date. That makes no sense to me... What's the use of pre-ordering when people can get them inside Apple retail stores before your order even ships?
is it like fedex to give a delivery date of the 15 and get it way earlier like this friday like you guys claim? if so, it will be a perfect way for me to begin my weekend...this week is gonna get real hectic for me...
With my experience with FedEx and USPS, my items usually get delivered before the estimated date. They give you that date to be safe and have a comfortable amount of time to get your item to you. However, if Apple has a specific release date in mind like with the iPhone 5, they may have the item shipped to you in a way that you will only get it on their specific release date that no one else knows about.
You know what's so crazy about all of this... On September 21st, I went to an Apple store to ask about when they will get their iPod Touch and to check out the iPhone 5 for a friend. The Apple employee I asked told me that they will most likely be getting the iPod Touch 5G on October 15th. There is no way Apple would have leaked that information to their store employees because it would have definitely been leaked to the whole world by now so now I'm thinking that maybe the guy I asked was a psychic or something because the general consensus seems to be that everyone whose status changed to shipped will be getting the iPods on the 15th which most likely means the Apple stores will also have them on the 15th... Is this crazy or what...
