iPod touch iPod Touch 5G - Wishlist!

Upgrades that theoretically could happen

1-A5
2-512 RAM
3-LED flash
4-Better Camera
5-Scratch Resistant back
6-Larger screen
7-1080p recording
8-Better front facing camera


Assuming that this year would be a relatively minor update
We may only see a better camera and more RAM since even the A5 is an entirely different beast than the A4 chip.

Too bad the A5 will be underclocked. The A5 will be running at 800 MHz instead of the full 1 GHz. Perhaps they will still have a dual core, but just underclocked. By the way, the ram is within the A5 Chip...

5- LED backlit IPS TFT LCD Retina display (current iPhone 4 display)

Lol like anyone would notice the 800MHz down clock. The A5 at 800MHz is faster than an A4 at 2200MHz

Being slated as a minor revision--iPod Touch 4,2--it will probably have better cameras, more memory hopefully, and if we are very lucky it will have the A5 processor and maybe a better display. I wouldn't wait for much else from the looks of it, because it probably won't be a massively redesigned and innovated iPod this year.
 
What I want is not very realistic(at least most of it), but I'm bored so I figured I'd post:

Better Battery Life
Scratch Resistant Back
Bigger Screen
Better Camera
3G
More RAM/A5

That's all I'd want really, I know I'm getting a new one anyways. My current iPod Touch is kinda messed up. I'd get an iPhone, but I like my phones to just be phones nothing else. I want my entertainment separate.

I would like to see a bigger screen size. Maybe 4.5" That would make the touch so much more usable for web surfing and viewing photos and movies. It would also compliment the iPad as the smaller screen ipad/ipod that Steve says nobody wants. My wish list would be:

Bigger retina display 4.5-5"
Faster processor
More RAM
Better camera (more like the iphone)

I use my iPad primarily for photos, web surfing and email. A smaller than iPad device would be perfect for me most of the time, and would be a perfect companion for my iPad and desktop Mac. :D
 
Getting closer to when we'll find out what the 5G actually will have!

In addition to a decent camera, I'd like it to have a decent speaker! I can put my cheap Nokia phone in my shirt pocket, put a coat on, even a winter coat, go for a walk, and still hear a podcast clearly. Whereas, with the IPT, put it in your pocket and start walking outdoors (or even eating breakfast cereal! :)), and good luck making out what they're saying! (And I have excellent hearing!)

CAMERA.

The iPod Touch 5G is a product that I'm really excited for. There's so much to improve on.

The camera on the iPhone 4S is stunning. I was blown away by it. I'll be happy if the Touch is half as good as that.

They did that to the Classic... Nothing is going to come out before the next iPhone. Then they may have a new device but I think it would be different enough for the old Touch to get a new name.
We shall see. . I can wait since I bought a 3rd Gen Refurbished Touch when any new one fail to show last Fall.
 
id be happy with just

-better rear camera (3-8mp)
-more RAM (512+)

my 80gb classic just got stolen and now im trying to decide whether to wait another 9 months or not.

Lot of hate on this thread, i think most of these are reasonable to want. And considering it will have been 2 years since the last major release and probably will come out with or after the next iphone, any iphone 4 level specs arent that outrageous to hope for.

also if you are reading and posting in a "wishlist thread" then you cant be that sick of them...
 
3G so I can browse the web in the car or wherever.. I would want an iphone but that's pretty damn expensive for me so I think a 3g iPod touch would be better and hopefully costs less. :) I'm pretty satisfied with my ipod touch 4g. I just want 3g :D
 
Without a doubt there needs to be either battery improvements or architecture changes to make the battery last longer, playing some games the battery only lasts about 2 hours.

I have heard that there is a iPad Mini on it's way. Well in some respects, the Touch is a iPad Mini.

3G would compliment the Touch, but that is very unlikely.

If they bring out a iPad Mini, i will pick one up and still keep my Touch.
