It’s not when people priority is cost not features. It’s not mutually exclusive. I considered the 11 but would of been unhappy with the screen. $150 off the price of the 11 pro was worth it. $29.99 for the 11 or $35 for the pro in installments $5 more a month is way worth it for the superior screen.

To prove me point further using an example. The Nintendo 3DS family outsold and the PlayStation Vita which hardware wise was lackluster compared to the vita. Horrible screen, gimmicks a-lore but the 3DS sold a ton of devices with a horrible screen. It’s features , software is what sold it. Same with the 11 .... it’s simply the cheapest of the new phones to get into the Apple ecosystem
As I’ve already said I know people personally who had the iPhone X and now have the iPhone 11. I’m sure there are people like yourself who care about the differences, but it’s clear there are also people that don’t. Lots of people on this forum are more than happy with what the iPhone 11 offers too. Just accept not everybody has the same buying preferences.

Lol you don’t get it. They could easily buy it because of price and price alone. Doesn’t mean they still don’t like or don’t like the display which is still factually worse then the pro

I’m not saying OLED isn’t nicer, but it’s a buyers market and the iPhone 11 Pro isn’t competitive on price. A lot of people who purchased the iPhone X don’t necessarily want to pay that price at every upgrade. The iPhone 11 offers a lot of what the Pro has and it’s appeal is broader. Sure price is a major factor.

Yes... price is the only reason. But to saying it’s mutually exclusive to say people don’t care about the screen is wrong. It’s still an inferior screen but there is plenty of people who can’t afford the pro but want in the Apple ecosystem so willing to buy the 11 or XR or the 8.

It’s not wrong to say some people don’t care about the screen at all. I don’t give a toss whether my iPhone has an OLED or an LCD. There are many people who think the same way. Not everybody who buys the iPhone 11 does so because they can’t ‘afford’ the 11 Pro. That seems to be a common misconception on here. Many don’t see the need to spend the extra for the bits the 11 Pro offers and it’s as simple as that. The iPhone 11 is popular for multiple reasons.

It is BECAUSE it’s cheaper ...

It is BECAUSE it’s cheaper ...

And offers enough with its specifications to capture the lion share of the iPhone market. If it was purely about price then everybody would still be buying the 8 series that Apple still offers. The iPhone 11 is a great phone and is priced competitively and has enough of the new technology to keep people interested.

It’s the cheapest new iPhone out there and that’s why ...... still a pretty BAD display and one I will never use.

Your choice and I respect it. Now respect that not everybody has the same buying preferences as yourself.

You don’t get it ... it sold more because it’s the Cheapest iPhone 2018 lineup . Likely or not liking the display is not mutually exclusive to that idea.

the main reason is price yes but it is still a great phone that has the same camera quality aside from that zoom. the screen is worse but still uses the same chip and you will still use it the same way as you do the pro.

my wife has the 11 and myself the pro and while the screen difference from OLED is noticeable to me it's not something that bothers most people.

No, I think it’s you that doesn’t get it. You are forcing your view here like it’s undisputed fact and it’s not. People buy whatever phone they use for a number of reasons. There are people who buy the iPhone 11 because it’s at the top of their budget and there are those that buy it because it’s good enough with what it offers. I don’t know a single person who owns the iPhone 11 who has it because they can’t afford the Pro. It’s a great phone at a great price and offers enough of the current technology to draw consumers to it. I understand the price is the major draw too. Like I said, it’s a buyers market and the iPhone 11 offers a good package at a competitive price.

Exactly. I know numerous people who have gone from the iPhone X to the iPhone 11 at upgrade and not had any complaints. Not everybody buys a phone based on its screen quality.

Lol ... I get it and you don’t..... the iPhone 11 is cheapest and that’s all that matters to some people.... still doesn’t mean the iPhone 11 screen is “good”

To be honest if I went from pro to 11 I would notice it at the start but like with the notch you would get used to it very quickly and not think much of it.

The problem is you can notice it which is why I went from a iPhone 7 to an note 8. The colors are washed out in comparison and the screen isn’t as sharp. It’s 2019... Apple should of made it 1080p not a 720p + or if you want to call it a sub 1080p screen its the same thing... at 4.7 it’s 720p plus screen was ok but at 6.1 it’s bleh

Indeed. Unless you are holding these phones side by side and scrutinising them to the tenth degree, you’re not going to be thinking about it. The screen on the iPhone 11 is pretty decent and Apple have done a good job with it. I only ever hear screen complaints on this forum and it’s usually from people showing a fair bit of elitism because they’ve paid a bit more for their phone. The real world is very different and the iPhone remains as popular as ever due to Apple offering such a good lineup.

confirmed worth it. The oled display with much higher resolution is certainly more pleasant to look at all time. the 840p display can seriously tell the difference when comparing to even iPhone 6 Plus, 7 plus and 8 plus 1080p display.

So you use a case with a stand or folio for that?

Yep, I have the Spigen Wallet S case.

Thinking of getting the tough armour since it also has a stand however the wallet is more adjustable and better when on an arm rest or something.

Everyone is going to have a different opinion. However for me the bigger screen is worth the admission price alone. Then there is the OLED display. The higher resolution and the telephoto lens. The more premium build quality is also nice.
??? The screen on the Pro is smaller than the 11. That's one of the main counter arguments against the 11 Pro. Smaller screen and slightly weaker battery, but costs $300 more.

I was referring to the pro max.

You finally converted her away from android!

What’s the trick I’ve been trying to get my husband on the iPhone for years.

Gotcha. This thread is for the regular 11 Pro though. I wonder how many are voting and commenting based on the 11 Pro Max? That would be $400 more and perhaps a different argument (since the Pro Max does have a better battery, much larger and sharper screen....basically everything :)

So comparing both as the 64gb models, is the 11 Pro (not the Pro Max) worth the extra $300 vs the "regular" 11?

Benefits of 11:
  • Cheaper
  • ~1 Hour Better Battery Life
Benefits of 11 Pro:
  • Sharper OLED Screen
  • Adds Telephoto Camera
  • Slightly Smaller and Lighter in Hand
  • Slightly Better Water Resistance
  • Comes With 18W Adapter
Not to me. I only bought the 11 Pro because, I wanted the smaller size. All the features you listed aren’t important to me but, size is.

Sorry. I didn’t read it properly. I had the iPhone X and really found it too small coming from the previous plus sized iPhones. I’m glad they have the max now because I don’t think I would choose the pro over the 11.

I agree. I prefer the slightly smaller size in-hand of the Pro as well. Or maybe even better yet if next year they have a full screen 5.4" phone. THAT would probably be optimal. Just to pay signifinantly more for a smaller screen phone...that's what I have a hard time with.
