When ever I record on my iPhone I have to delete the videos in a few days because most of my space be gone. 16g is cool at times!!

16gb is enough for me on my phone. I have a 32gm iPod touch4 almost filled with random games and loads of music I don't even listen to and tbh I rarely even use it. My phone has like 400 pics, all the music I need and like 25 apps and I use like 7 of them daily. And over 6gb left. Sure I could use a 32gb phone and put some more music on it but it's not necessary.

16 gb is plenty I have a 16gb iPhone 5 ,iPad 3 and 4. What I do is every so often usually weekly I move all of my pictures to my Mac and delete them off of my phone. I can still get them through iCloud if I needed or another cloud service . As for music I use google music and stream it. That or slacker radio. I don't game on my phone so yea 16 is fine. More like 13 out the box but still enough.

Not a fan of streaming so it wouldn't be enough for me since my phone is my main music player. If I had an ipod, 16gb would be plenty though

which apps? last I checked, probably most are less than 20 mb, unless you're thinking of games.

I've managed with 16gb okay... 6gb of pics/video (I have a daughter), and then various utility apps. I recently downloaded star walk, and that's 50mb, despite loads of info. (I also don't bother to put music on my phone). and with the higher resolution camera coming soon, that will eat even more storage.

what concerns me more than flash storage amount is the amount of data many of these apps are downloading/uploading. play scramble with friends, and you can kiss your data plan goodbye. soon, data needs to become cheaper to account for the 'connectedness' many of the hyper-visual apps require (read, Facebook).

I'll echo a sentiment often found in the mba forum: if 16(or 32) isn't enough, then surely you're going to need more than double that amount.

It isn't that apps take a lot of space but while using they start storing caches which take up lots of space. Facebook is a real offender, friend of mine had up to 500 MB used by the app until restarted the phone. Some apps like Flipboard obviously do.

Without a doubt. Always shocked when people say 'I can't download that app, I have to delete stuff first'. Then find out they have a massive amount of music. I think if you're the kind of person with a few hundred songs and not thousands it's perfect.

I bought a 32gb black iPhone 5 because I knew within the years I would have this phone, I would accumulate a lot more apps, music, and pictures. It's perfect for me because it holds pretty much everything I need in one device. There's no need for me to own an iPod because all my music is on here. I've had this phone since October and I still have plenty memory left over. Like everyone here has said before it all depends on what you're gonna use your phone for. It's more of a personal choice than whether or not 16gb is enough.

I guess you couldn't call me a power iPhone user then. I have 16GB and I fit comfortably within that with about 8GB to spare. But mostly because I keep my photos library clean and I don't have a huge amount of apps. I have a 16GB iPad mini though with about 4GB to spare but that's mostly because I have lots of big name big file games and apps on it.

I originally upgraded from an 8GB Ipod Touch, so I thought that having 16GB would be more than enough, as it was twice the amount of space. Turns out that it wasn't enough for me. Having more space, I began downloading more music and before I knew it, I didn't have enough space. Apple uses about 3GB for software so you only actually get about 13GB. I had about 9GB of music originally on my phone and then some apps. I did clear up some space by moving songs over to a dedicated MP3 player, but now its just kind of annoying to not have all my music with me on one device, and I need to carry around 2 devices around.

I'd definitely go for the 32GB at least next time around. It just makes it a lot easier for me as I won't have to constantly keep updating my music and deleting older songs that I may not listen to as much anymore.

It sucks that they don't bump it up to at least 64, 128 and 256. This would be nice. Plus bigger screen..
