no, i'm moving to austin later this month. i'd like to travel with friends to my hometown or to the beach every couple of months, so i'd prefer a more spacious car.

anyways, i'm a bit picky when it comes to car brands so it's been a very difficult process choosing a vehicle. :(

What makes you picky about brands? In all of your years what have you driven? Exclude what your parents drive for starters and just discuss what you've driven. What do you want out of a car? We get that you want more room but a Ford Explorer has all the room for a few strapping young men and their baggage. Sure, you won't look nearly as hot driving the explorer but then again ask yourself who you're trying to attract as well.

What you've done was set this up for a total flame fest. You come off as an arrogant child who is looking for an image make-over more so than a car/suv that can handle your awesome lifestyle. And my comment or question about the Jersey Shore was more tongue in cheek.

I've seen a few middle-aged divorcees driving them in Orange County, CA. :D I mean, if it matters.

what if he earned it though? he may be in college but who knows what this kid has accomplished

I have many many close friends that make in excess of 500k a year, are in college and none are over 22. It's easy to do if you know what you're doing.

I've mostly only seen men driving Range Rovers, maybe a handful of women (think around 5 or 6) and I split my time between Charlotte, NC and Fairfax, VA. For what it's worth, I plan on getting a Range Rover sometime in the future and I'm a guy...

May I ask what your friends do for a living and what their majors are? I feel I am in the wrong field. :p:D

you probably see a lot of chicks drive them because daddy got them one for christmas.
You obviously have enough in the bank, or your folks do, so why not buy a Land Rover Defender. Range Rovers are for yuppies.

Based on the vibe I get from you, the RAV 4 sounds about right.

That's what I'd say about driving an SUV too :p.

Seriously I don't see why you wouldn't want to drive a more efficient car that is better value for money (in terms of up front and petrol costs) than a range rover.

He also said he wanted to drive a car young people drive.

So what he needs to do is get a mid 90s Civic, put a fart can on it, stick on a rear wing that looks like it came off an Airbus, install a subwoofer as big as the trunk, stick some racing stripes on it, and a few NOS stickers, and he's all set.

It'll probably cost about the same as a range rover too :p.

That's going to a completely different, bad place. :)

They have their uses, however I refuse to call mine an SUV. There's nothing sporty about a 1996 Diesel P38 with 120,000 miles on the clock, but it's bloody useful for carrying building materials...
