the original iPhone was a revelation in the smartphone business. It was perfect, it just worked! It was zippy, it was snappy and it made owners happy.

Then we have the iPhone 3g and updated software. TBH the iPhone's reliability is like any other smartphone now, just not good.

And if anybody is satisfied with the speed if the iPhone. Please press your camera app and tell me how long it takes to load...

3 seconds for me too, so is that too slow, what's the point. Settings takes between 2-3 seconds to open.

Just down loaded about 15 emails in about 10 seconds or so, read them all, none hung up, one had two photos it only took about 5-10 seconds to open and view the photo's, I replied to my athlete's questions (all the way in Bangalore, India). I love my phone, the 3G here in Canada on Rogers is great, so maybe your problem is with AT&T not Apple.

I wouldn't say I was supremely disappointed but recently it broke and Apple's answer was to buy a new one. Surprise surprise. So while it's out for repair I went back to using my Tilt. I put a new system (6.1) on it and put PointUI on it and it's like a whole new phone....fast and responsive. Now I have back Slingplayer, TomTom, real background processing, a useful bluetooth stack, a Flash player, access to MLB Gameday audio (which is only a few days away!), my choice of browsers, larger batteries, the TCPMP audio/video player that can play just about anything and lots more that the iPhone doesn't do and, if you believe Apple, will never do. So no, I wasn't supremely disappointed but I doubt I'll use it when it gets back after being reminded of what a great phone really is.
