I’m upset about that for sure!!!

as well as it being ticker and heavier Bigger foot print too.i want thin and light
Aesthetics over functionality? Tell me, is that really what you're after in a laptop? Why not buy the even thinner and lighter MacBook Air then?

The weight and thickness of the 16" MacBook Pro compared to the 15" is negligible. I greatly doubt anyone would be able to notice the difference between them when comparing them in real life.

If you want thin and light, you bought the wrong laptop. You should've got the 12" MacBook, or the Air. Or if they don't cut it for you, wait for the 13" MacBook Pro in 2020.

I'd say the small amount it has increased is far outweighed by the larger display, faster processor, better gpu, longer lasting battery and a superior keyboard.

I think in nearly every metric this machine is superior
Are you interested in getting one? I know that you used to be a MBP guy but switched away. (I believe it was partially due to butterfly keyboards)

I went from a 2015 MBP => 2017 MBP and the decrease in weight was a big reason why I strongly prefer using the 2017 MBP to the older version.

BUT this release has so much going for it. And chances are great that they release a slightly larger 14" MBP sometime next year that might be a good replacement for those who really do care about weight but still want a bigger screen.

So no I'm not upset at all really. Would it be great if the laws of physics meant we could get everything in the 16" MBP without any increase in weight? sure. But I think it is still a HUGE step in the right direction. And if you really do prefer the 15" MBP size they will still be on the market for a while and the 2019 keyboard (I use it everyday for work) is just fine.

I think they are generally headed in the right direction, but price creep is brutal.

Like:
new keyboard (finally!),
escape key,
better cooling

Dislike:
+$400 for 32gb of ram (!?!?). Since base is 16gb, it's really like paying $400 for 16gb of ram.
No wi-fi 6 (802.11ax)...wtf? even iPhones have this now. This was a shocker to me.
Eventually would like AV1 hardware decoding, but that's not available yet
Wish they would have refreshed the 13" at the same time

Weight and size don't bother me at all. This is the 15" model and will largely be stationary for most or just used around their homes.

I realize tech come out every year, I just think they did a bogus service to 2019 15" users who bought the latest/greatest 5 months ago.

1 year cycle I get.... 5 months is kind of a dick move

Your 15" still works, you're all good.

Price creep? I paid $2800 for the first gen base model 17” in 2006. That’s almost $3600 in today’s dollars. If anything you should be happy the 16” maintains the same base price as the 15”.

Thicker, heavier, bulkier

No thanks!
It's a professional machine which needs to be bigger with decent thermals and have a big battery, if you are upset then it's not the correct machine for you, I think Apple have made some terrific choices this year making the iPhone bigger and putting in the bigger battery and doing the same with the 16" MBP. I'm critical of Apple but they are impressing me lately.

You are really going to notice and be upset about a couple ounces and less than an inch difference? I guess some people need to complain for complaining sake. Before you lambast something just because it wasn't exactly what you wanted consider sometimes things are the way they are for a good reason.

His the reasons why the MacBook Pro has been rubbish for a good while as people like him want a laptop that is thin as paper and weighs the same as an actual single apple fruit.

Love this machine. But seeing I spent $3200 on my ‘19 15” 8-Core less than 90 days ago, I’m kinda miffed.

Apple only offers $1400 on trade in on my model; and I will not sell to random peeps on CL/FB Marketplace/eBay.

What I keep telling myself is that it’s a great machine and way more than I need.

but ugh.
