Are you interested in getting one? I know that you used to be a MBP guy but switched away. (I believe it was partially due to butterfly keyboards)
I'm intrigued by it, but I'll probably pass, it's hard to justify spending 2,500 for this, after spending 2k on a laptop last year. I'll probably keep running the numbers, but I had some money saved up for a new 4k or ultrawide monitor. I'm more in need of replacing my monitor then my not so old thinkpad.

As far as processing power I have the base model and it's more than i need

Readers of this forum may remember you contradicted yourself there when compared to plenty posts of yourself thinking about upgrading, buying a second notebook etc. All in this year. Sorry, but your opinions change daily and that doesn’t help your low credibility one bit.

well right now I’m on a MacBook 12” 2017 model, 2019 base model 15”, and a 2019 16” base model

I also have an iPhone 11 Pro and an iPhone 11 Pro max

it’s more than I need an I’m trying to sell my iPhone 11 Pro

Soon as they announced it and I saw the changes, saw the earliest reviews I was sold. I dunno how anyone could be upset with this if you were considering a 15" for its power. I think if you're concerned about size and weight the 15" was not for you either and a 13" or maybe even a MacBook Air would be better suited.

I would really struggle to find someone this laptop is actually designed for, who told me "yeah I'd rather it perform worse because my priority is thinness and weight."

Well I have both 2019 models 15” and 16”

Both are base config

And I like my 15” more. It just feels more futuristic.

lighter, sleeker, more space age

The 16” feels like previous gen

But you're aware the 15" had a very bad keyboard and bad thermals. It may have looked sleeker to you but it's intended to get work done not look nice on a coffee table.

Personally I think the 16" and 15" look so similar I'd be hard pressed to tell them apart without examining the keyboard, especially if both screens are off. Though I do think the display on the 16" looks sleeker with the thinner bezels.

Well keyboard hasn’t been an issue at all for me (So far) and I like the feel of it.

thermals? Meh. I don’t need more cool.

But you’re right they do look similar. Hard to tell until you it pick up.

Regarding the bezels...it’s really close. But yea similar is better no doubt.

Well, to a certain extent Yes. I want it to look sleek to when I invite over friends the place looks modern and nice

I feel like it is a premium built laptop with decent internals.

I am just beginning to be more aware and frustrated at how over priced it is.

Can literally get a laptop with 64gb RAM and a RTX 5000 card for the same price, and the RAM and SSD are modular.

We get it. The flawed one makes you less upset.

OP you have the most all over the place posts over anyone that is a member at MacRumors.

When I upgraded to the 16" was actually surprised at how much thicker and heavier it is to the 2019 15" I had. Certainly did feel like a step back in terms of design. Very similar to the 2012 rMBP.

But after a few days you stop noticing the difference and enjoy the better performance. It's on the desk mostly so would rather trade performance for a bit of weight.

The MBP 16 is not that much heaver than the MBP 15.... if anything the "16 is more "space age" performance wise

Not pick'n on you specifically @-narcan- . Was just a convenient thread to reply to.

I'm surprised anyone can feel the difference in thickness.

The 2018 & 2019 15" are each 15.5 mm thick
The 2019 16" is 16.2mm thick

That's 0.7mm thicker (like the thickness of a grain of rice).
That's not very much thicker.
While I haven't had the pleasure of handling each side-by-side, I don't know if I could tell the difference... unless they were sitting side-by-side.

Edit: And the 16" is only 0.28 lbs heavier. A quarter pound isn't that much. My backpack weighs 35 lbs. I don't think I could tell that there's a quarter pound more weight in my backpack :p

I love the new Macbook Pro 16". Love it. A fantastic workstation, worth every penny. Sleek, fast, and most importantly, it works with a good keyboard, great screen, great sound, great ports (love Thunderbolt Three x 4), plus the 100W charger means you are up and running fast.

Great machine, great design, great release, fairly priced. Thank. You. Apple.

Agree with most of that.... sorta. The price part is.... mehhhhh.
Great machine, great design, great release, fairly overly priced.

Can't wait to get me some stick-time on that new keyboard.

EDIT: Ok, ok, ok, I take it back... More CPU, mem, and a better keyboard... at lower cost. That's definitely a move in the right direction :p
