Is It Worth $600? HELL NO!!!!!

I don't think a watch you have to charge every night and doesn't have built in GPS is worth $400. I don't think the look is very refined and is worth $400.

But the thing is, I knew this all before I spent the money and bought it anyway. I knew what I was getting and wanted to be an early adopter of a shiny new toy and am glad I got it.

The problems the OP posts seem to be all things that were public before they went on sale...so not really sure why he would have put down $600 to begin with.

That's a valid point.

As far as tech go, I'm personally more amazed by the Citizen Eco-drive charging tech than I am anything on the Apple Watch. It is actually revolutionary.

What is the relationship between having to charge it every night and how much you pay for it? I charge my computer, iPad and phone every night too, and they all cost more than the watch. It would be nice if it would last for months without charging, but that's not going to happen anytime soon. I feel as long as it lasts through the day, the battery life isn't an issue.

Whether it's worth $600 is hard to say. I've certainly spent more money on things that do way less. In some ways I think we've been spoiled by our smartphones because they're among the most versatile and useful products ever produced by mankind. So yeah, compared to an iPhone it's not nearly as good a value. But I do feel that it's made my life more convenient than before, and I'm kind of enjoying the "jewelry" aspect of it as well.

I've got the same model, except mine looks gorgeous, feels luxury, displays appropriate realtime stock quotes, along with the current weather. I'm keeping mine. Go back to your galaxy gear man, you seem like the perfect fit for it...I truly do think so.

Absolutely positively not. I own the Sapphire Glass Stainless with the black band in 42mm. Owned it for a week now. It looks cheap, feels cheap and fails to accurately update DJIA quotes and Weather temperature changes. Also, the watch faces are ATROCIOUS. My watch is getting returned tomorrow. Apple has released an over priced over hyped failure of a watch. I am thoroughly disappointed in Apple. My 2012 $299 Galaxy Gear was more functional, more reliable, and felt better on my wrist than this $600 2015 Apple Watch.

I don't value your opinion

The OP has posts going back to 2008, and still gets accused of being a troll just for disliking the Apple Watch.

If Apple Watch owners are happy with their device, good for them. But you can't be rude to everyone who thinks it's a complete waste of money.

The OP is just stating his/her opinion which everyone has a right to. I can understand how he/she feels because I had the 42mm SS watch that ran me $700. I wore it for less than four hours then decided to sell it. The watch was nice but not $700 worth of nice.

I put it on Craigslist and it was gone in less than 24 hours. (I made an impressive $400 profit which was sweet!)

Engadget seems to agree with you based on a recent article I read. Does it bring $600 worth of value? Probably not, but it is quite an engineering accomplishment IMHO.

They have. But why did you fall for all the hype and pay the inflated price? A fool and his money are easily parted.

This is the kind of comment that is very annoying and makes me feel sad for the person who says it. You speak from your point of view and decide our reasoning and decisions are irrelevant and wrong.

For me, the watch is very relevant and worth the money. For you it isn't.

BTW, I'll bet if I go into your home, I will find numerous items that you have spent money on that I wouldn't want for free. As you said, a fool and his money are easily parted. Have a nice day and continue to spend your money on foolish and overhyped things.

Based on OPs previous posts, he might not be a Troll but he is very very opinionated. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, some just don't know how to express that opinion without upsetting others with a different opinion. It takes tact to do that ....

My opinion is that Android products have a place in the market, and their price point / build quality / fractured OS reflects this. If I could personally abide these issues I would have stayed with the Samsung phone and watch. I couldn't so I switched. I'm sure there are those out there that see the value in these devices and to them (and the OP) good luck, I hope you get the same level of enjoyment from the Android wear as I do from my Apple Watch. Much Love! :D

Completely agreed.. Is the galaxy gear more functional? yes. But the build quality of the Apple watch is better. I also agree that this watch is way over priced for what it does, can do; and offers.. I have a sports model and I felt that was over priced also but I held on to mine hoping for an improved update firmware.

What engineering accomplishment? Samsung has been doing this for years. Apple is late to the game. This is a weak first effort. Very weak.

My take is that the finish of the Sport says not worth $350-$400. But that the look of the SS certainly feels like it is more in line with the $550-$600 pricing, though at the same time I am a metal band wearer and $950-$1,100 is too much for the Link combos. I also think that the entry SS should have included a Classic Buckle at that price. But no matter how you slice it the Sport and SS are too pricey for tech because of the obsolescence factor.
