MBA M1 here. I still have problems with my BT speaker (JBL charge 4) and my keyboard disconnecting once every few days. I'm on the latest MacOS always.

It's not mac mini but thought I share since BT problems happen across the M1 lineup.

I got my M1 back in November and have had no Bluetooth issues with either my MX Keys Keyboard, Trackpad or Ear Fun ear buds.

I still have non stop issues with mine. If I try to connect my AirPods all the other peripherals connected via bluetooth slow down to a crawl. The delay between hitting a key and it appearing on the screen makes it next to impossible to type, and moving the mouse is filled with stutters. Absolutely awful experience.

The Mini seems to have experienced "bluetooth problems" since it was re-designed into the current enclosure back around 2010 (and which is still in use today).

The bt antenna is just too near to some other electronics (USB3?) and as such is subject to RF interference from them.

Perhaps Apple will re-locate the bt antenna in the upcoming redesigned M1x Mini that is rumored to be released later this year.

If they do not, then I wouldn't expect "the bluetooth problem" to be cleared up.
It is what it is, and Apple doesn't seem too concerned about fixing it...

I’ve had my M1 Mac Mini since last Friday and so far I have had no issues with Bluetooth. I use the Apple Magic Keyboard Touch ID and the Magic Mouse. No disconnects.

I managed to get my MX Master Mouse 2 and MX Keys paired without the "benefit" of a unified receiver.

I also had to disable Bluetooth on my Samsung 65" TV (monitor).

Been at it close to an hour and absolutely no lags.

Just an observation.

When I have my iPhone on my desk, near my M1 Mac Mini, it interferes with my Apple Keyboard and Mouse.

I think something with the iPhone (either it's BT or something else) interferes with the BT reception of the M1 Mac Mini.

My experience

-zero bt issues ever with 2010 mini

- 2018 was another matter. And it seemed to follow certain restarts. Turned out my WiFi was on auto and some boots it chose 2.4 and others it chose 5.0. Disabled 2.4 and problems went away. Over two solid years now.

I had issues with a wireless mouse that became jittery, followed by a different brand replacement after starting with the 2018 mini. Curiously it also seemed to impact a nearby Mac Pro in the same way. The Mac Pro had never previously exhibited any such problems, so I am thinking there is some level of interference going on with Bluetooth on these minis that requires separation to resolve.

In both cases it was resolved by adding a wired USB hub and adding the dongle to the hub, rather than directly to the computer.

I bought my MacMini M1 when it was first released. I had read about BT issues and didn't have any problems for a couple months.

Then all of a sudden one day my Apple BT keyboard started acting weirdly. When I'd press a key to type one letter, a whole string of random letters would come out.

Fortunately, I was logged-in and was able to turn off BT and then when I turned it back on and everything connected, the keyboard was fine. This has now happened maybe 1/2 dozen times over the past 6+ months.

When I am at my login screen I can't turn off BT because the icon doesn't show up. So, when it has happened upon login, I grab my wired keyboard and login and then turn BT off/on and it seems to reset for weeks.

I'm fully up to date on OS updates, so clearly Apple hasn't solved the problem yet. I'm tempted to buy a Logitech keyboard with a small dongle sending unit, but I really like my Apple Keyboard so I'll suffer with it until they hopefully solve it.

my m1 mini that bought few months ago most of time with BT parallels working good but only 1 type of headphones i have - JBL E55BT from time to time sometimes take many time to pair with the mac and connected (and change the output)
but i can leave with it until buy new headphones

Just sold my Mac Mini M1 - while it works fine when its waking up from sleep, I always have issues with my Logitech MX Keys and MX Master 3 with entering password on first run/right after reboot. Once logged in, they never lagged.
Had it since day 1 and now I am thinking to move to a Portable setup. Sold it and waiting for the upcoming MBP / MBA

My 2018 MM Bluetooth is all but useless, I had to stop using my beloved Magic Mouse and Keyboard with them. They work great on my 2019 MBP as well as my NUC. My Airpods also do not work reliably on the 2018 Mini.

I replaced them with Logitech MX Keys KB and MX Master 3 mouse with the Unifying Receiver and these work great. (I have the MX Trackball but don't like it, maybe I will grow to like it...)

My wife has an M1 Mini that I will inherit once her new M1 iMac arrives next month. She has been using a Magic Mouse and KB from the start and has had similar issues. She cheats however and leaves the KB plugged into the Lightning Cable all the time but since that is not an option with the mouse she dropped the Magic Mouse and reverted to an old wired wheel mouse we had.

I suspect I will use the same Logitech KB and mouse when I get the M1 Mini from her. Hopefully I won't be looking up BT issues with the M1 iMac's when hers arrives.

Is it a fact that different mini over the years still have bluetooth and perhaps also display issues?

I have to date, zero Bluetooth issues but it may be due to the set up and the way I use Bluetooth.

Bluetooth is only for airpods and Sennheiser headset and nothing more.
Three ports are used on the Mini - USBC to DP for Monitor, USB to speakers, and TB to CalDigit Elements hub that has drives connected.

Turn off Wi-Fi. If that fixes it, make sure your minis can only connect to 5.0 Wi-Fi.

My WiFi is off on the Mini, it is connected directly to my switch with Cat6. I still cannot get reliable Bluetooth performance from my 2018 Mini with Airpods, Magic Mouse or Magic Keyboard.

It is slightly better when the edge USB-A port is unoccupied but not by much.

The one I got always have issues pairing bluetooth keyboards especially during initial setup and reinstallation of Mac OS. Do previous and current generation of Mini have this issue? If so, I have to give up the mini.

Maybe I got a lemon but mine even has problems connecting to wired usb keyboards during setups!

As for Wifi, my Mini M1's wifi is very slow also. Is this also a mini issue?

Definitely return the one I got. Problem is whether to get another Mini or just order a Macbook Pro.

Let's hope those plexiglass top rumors are true for a future Mini.

I've always ended up having some type of wireless issues on every Mini I've had.

I hope they optimize the next design of it for great wireless reception and no interference.
