They had an iOS pro before it had its own os and judging Apple keynotes promotion will come to the IPhone but only when it meets Apples power requirements

Yet they will sell more phones than anybody else. Marketing works? Every company can market and market well if they wish to. But is it working out for them? Now with this cheaper 699 starting price point, a lot of companies should be afraid. Especially the companies that specializes in cheap and low end phones such as Oppo, Vivo, Xiami, Huawei (to some degree). Because that's all they had..."price it cheap strategy" or otherwise their existence will become questionable because why buy a Xiami or a Huawei when they can buy an iPhone 11, XR, 8 or a Samsung A70 at the same price? Doesn't make sense. Lets see how they play out now Apple is headed for cheaper models.

I don't think you're familiar with the market at all.

To put things into perspective, a Xiaomi A3 ($200) features:
  • 6.1" OLED display
  • triple rear camera
  • in-display fingerprint
  • 4GB RAM / 64GB storage
  • USB-C
  • 10W charger

A $400 Oppo smartphone features a 6.5" OLED display, quad-rear camera, and whole bunch more.

A $700 Vivo smartphone has 5G.

Every company in existence is free to market their products. Its not an Apple only thing. This would mean that apple is winning all fronts then? Making good products and selling a lot of them as well? Due to marketing? ALL companies are free to market their products.
Not everybody likes iOS. iPhone elitism is becoming extinct.

i couldn’t care less about Chinese phones. You aren’t getting them cheaper for no reason.

So don’t buy it, it’s that simple. The main reason to buy iPhones is iOS and the ecosystem.

I don’t think it’s so much elitism as tribalism.

People are cringing about Apple’s term ‘slofie’, but I’ll bet it was calculated to appeal to a very important group of consumers and that every other phone manufacturer jumps on the bandwagon.

Apple’s marketing ability to appeal to our herd mentality is usually perfect.

Sure there are.

You don't help to pay for Tim Cook's $136 million salary in 2018.

You don't help pay for the $5 billion construction of Apple Park either.

This went way off topic and fanboyism on both sides is really extreme. I thought it was bad between Samsung and other Android fans but some here are just as bad.

Apple stole everything from Android phones while making it sounds during their keynote that they created something new.

They even literally copied the exact same camera setup as the Samsung Galaxy S10+.

The only good thing from this refresh is the $699 iPhone 11.
Exact same camera setup? o_O

It's a matter of cognitive dissonance, as evidenced in some of the above posts.

Some people don't want to accept that there's been a lack of innovation at Apple. To close that cognitive gap, people try to redefine the definition of "innovation" or "Pro." Other people use fear mongering and pretend other brands have security concerns.

I think he meant Huawei Mate 20, not Samsung.

I was answering his question, didn't say I didn't like it...

I don’t think Apple wanted Promotion to be trickling down to the iPhone right away, making it more exclusive to the ‘iPad’ Pro. But, now that iPad has its own version of OS and it’s separating itself away from the iPhone entirely, I do see the iPhone eventually receiving the promotion display (At least with the more expensive models), and there’s no doubt Apples engineers have probably experimented in the least.

I'm not cringing about "slofie" I think it's cool and everybody is going to use it because, the majority of users aren't grown up man in their 40's complaining on forums, but young people who enjoy life.

None of these Android manufacturers have to build an OS either! Give me some examples of all this innovation these phones have that can’t be considered at most features because the word innovation gets tossed around like it’s nothing these days!

If the iPhone is such a bad phone why does all these Android owners spend so much time year in and year out watching and commenting on Apple products!

So by your logic if I use X brand I can't look at Y brand's news and events? You know what you sound like right now? Not gonna say it but you'll figure it out.

They didn’t hire Cook and build Apple Park and then decide to sell stuff.. it was the other way around..

I wouldn't be against it, but could Apple realistically even source 120Hz displays in sufficient amounts?

I don't like MKB's implication that Apple is somehow following the Pro trend when Apple created it with the MacBook, and has brought it to other products with the iPad. The idea of an "iPhone Pro" has been in followers minds since forever, it was just a matter of time, and I like that it is bringing back some sense to the naming conventions within Apple products.

MKB doesn't really like Apple... or at least plays it like that for the android troll following he has. Money is king.

He's pretty fair. He love macOS for his workstations, but prefers Android for his mobile needs and is open about it.

He's been one of the people exposing several 'Android spokespersons' for sending out Tweets on how much they love their Samsung (fill in the blank) but sending it from iPhones.

Lol, why does everyone assume next year is going to be a redesign? Its an S year and there is no reason to think that Apple doesn't see the current phone as a redesign with the camera shape.

If anything, the rumors this year should solidify that there ISN'T going to be a redesign and it will be an S model, because almost every rumor was wrong. Why would Apple all of a sudden deviate from releasing an S? There is no reason to believe that they would.
All the rumors from legit sources, like Ming-Chi Kuo are pretty much true.

It was predicted that 2019 wasn’t going to be redesigned. The 3 lenses and their design were predicted, the better battery life was predicted, the colors were predicted, no reverse charging was predicted, the date was predicted.

All the rumors are saying redesign next year.

This year should prove that rumors don’t mean anything until the Keynote.

You do realize that one of the best phones on the market is $699, has a killer camera, is loaded with features, has 8Gb of Ram, and 256Gb of storage. The One Plus 7 Pro has all that for the same price of a 64GB iPhone 11 that is essentially unusable with that amount of storage. So let’s not get too crazy in thinking that Apple is offering more for the money.
