In the end, I find the term 'Pro' to differentiate the more expensive models from the more cost affordable iPhone 11 model and little else. Adding a telephoto lens and the fact the display is OLED hardly equate to the more expensive phones being professional, or in other words, exceptionally better than the more affordable model.
I think the most telling case for this is that they chose to discuss at length all of the capabilities and refinements of the A13 bionic chip during the presentation of the Pro models. Why, when that very same chip is in the iPhone 11? I feel they knew they needed something to fill the Pro presentation other than the camera. If you noticed, Phil mentioned ''new design'' when talking about the Pro. Aside from the matte glass, the only design changes were a camera square, movement of the apple logo, and removal of branding verbiage. Well, that happened with the iPhone 11 too but he never said 'it' had a new design. I honestly feel like they were self-aware that very little was being added to the Pro model over the regular 11 and scrambled to make it appear the opposite.
And it will work, because most purchasers don't live inside these forums, didn't watch the keynote, and will notice two things: Price and Name.
