so far no issues with mine after the update... BUT i have notice a good thing.

With my MBP when i would wake it i would have to wait about 8 seconds for the wifi to be active and then access the internet wireless... I didn't know why but i just got used to it.

NOW, after the update, i wake my computer and then within 3 seconds the full bar of wifi is up and i'm ready to connect.. That i did notice. Before i would click on firefox or ichat and it would stay connecting and firefox would say no internet connection...

Now it's up and running. That's the main thing i noticed.

For me moving is what sped that up. We used to live in an apartment with 15 other people that had networks interfering with ours (even though we we're on a completely different channel). As soon as we moved into a house with only one other network around it's comes up as fast as I can look at it. Also, the wifi problems with my wife's MacBook have completely gone away. It's good to hear 10.5.3 seems to have solved your problems though.

Since installing 10.5, I have had my first kernel panic, copying of my camera's SD card locks up Finder (repeatedly, even after reboots) and things are just generally unstable (app crashes, etc).

I have fixed permission, but to no avail. MP Early 2008 with 8 GB or RAM.

Its working just fine but the shared under finder still does not show the windows machines in the network:(, it seems like Apple has forgotten about this anoying problem... gee!! even Linux (any flavor) works on this part!... other than that is fine...:apple:

Well, after a SuperDuper SmartUpdate (highly recommended, in my opinion), I went ahead and took the plunge and installed 10.5.3.

The installation seems to have went without a hitch and I am up and running.

I had the 198 MB version.

I am not sure what to look for as far as improvements are concerned to see if it was worthwhile, but it doesn't seem I am any more worse for wear than with 10.5.2.

10.5.3 fixed sound issues on my macbook when using headphones. before i would get an annoying pulsing static noise, a lengthy beep when stopping playback in itunes or any other sound source, static noise upon wake up, and some strange robotic noises as if a robot were talking (???). strangely enough i would only experience these issues when using headphones or external speakers.

Using a G5 20" 2GHz, I still have a few issues, even after repairing permissions:

• eyeTV 3 now drops frames like a crazy - I use it in conjunction with an eyeTV200 FireWire box, and television's virtually unwatchable now... :)

I have a similar problem - I get a screen freeze after about a minute.
I've got the same EyeTV200 firewire box, a Dual 2.5 GHz PowerPC G5 and 8G SDRAM

:(

I don't know whether or not it has something to do with the 10.5.3, but my XP VM running under parallels has started to behave oddly -- all of a sudden it becomes unresponsive and screen refresh in the applications I'm running begins to stutter.

Same crap here

Installed 10.5.3, and no problems here...I also didn't notice anything special about the update either.

The only problem I was having previously is that the brush tools in Photoshop get whacked out when you switch spaces...that still happens in 10.5.3, but there is a workaround - change to the crop tool (or a non-brush/stamp tool) before switching spaces, and when you come back, everything still works fine.

it ruined my airport for my imac. i had good signal (5 bars) for my wifi in my house, now after the update i have 1 bar and my internet is slow as balls...

same here on a mbp around the house. mini in same room is full strength still though..
on start up has full signal, then drops a bit, then plummets. slow to recognise network too. bah.

(airport and now time machine both the same issue)

I updated both my Core Duo MBP and 24" Aluminium iMac using the Combo Update.

I've no issues with either machine and to be honest I can't say I've noticed anything different compared to 10.5.2.

so far 10.5.3 is running fine for me too...with a hack to have pre-10.5.2 transparent menus with the blur effect.

It works fine - and it also solves one of the crashing issues I had.

However, on my MacBook Pro, I still can't burn CDs, it just spins up a CD-R for a bit, and then spits it back out. Tried resetting PRAM etc... to no avail.

Also, the Google Sync option doesn't show up in Address Book on the iMac - which is one of the things my dad has wanted to be able to do...

Yes.

Safari seems to load quicker.
On boot-up, my NAS drive 'volumes' are displayed much quicker.

Still no proper support for TM over NAS though.

yuch

as i posted else where mytime machine has frozen and i cant access it.

I would just like to add that 10.5.3 removes support for the 256 colour mode on Macs with integrated graphics and new Penryn MBPs. Under normal usage, this is not a problem. But if you are playing old games that need 256 colours, you're out of luck this time.

Everything alright for me, both Macs successfully updated.
And for you Snappier Safari fans, damn you, I was gonna say that Safari feels Snappier

My Brother DCP-315CN printer stopped working

I think the printer driver for my does'nt play nice with the 10.5.3 update. Since i've updated my mac can't find the printer anymore.
I have it connected with ethernet.
Edit: solved! resetting the printer to its default state solved the issue.

My iMac will not shut down

Since installing 10.5.3, my iMac (original core duo version) will not shut down after running for the day. The little spinning thingie just keeps spinning away. I can force a shut down by holding the power button.

The machine has never has this problem before and has no new software installed other than 10.5.3.

Funny thing, if I try shutting down immediately after rebooting, all is fine. But if I have had the machine on all day, sometimes sleeping, it will not shut down.
