Is the iPhone X screen area smaller than the iPhone Plus?

If anyone's coming to this late, here are the physical dimensions for 16:9 video in landscape mode:

Anyone that has an 5.8” Galaxy S8 knows what to expect from the iPhone X.
I know what you mean, and I prefer the 8+’s ability to present content more.
All these comparisons between iPhones has me even more excited for the X!

It does for me slightly, and it bothers me (that it's narrower) in portrait mode as well.
And that means a smaller keyboard than the Plus-sized phones.
It'll be closer to the size of the 4.7" iPhones.
Go check out an lg g6 at a store, feel how narrow it it and then add the notch. That’s a close screen comparison

Unfortunately yes the usable area is smaller than the Plus.
I'll see if thats something I can live with when I get my X. If it's not, I'll just sell my X for the Plus as I do like the larger screen and longer battery life of the Plus but wanted to give the X a shot.

I get the screen size difference but the battery life difference between the 8 Plus and X is surely very minimal though?
It is. It's about an hour shorter for watching videos and maybe internet use, IIRC. The specs are on apples webpage.
But I have gotten very used to the Plus battery life, even if mine has degraded significantly.
The physical size of the screen is why I went from a 7 Plus to an 8 Plus this year. I get the screen size I want with all the useful upgrades the X has. The 8 Plus is the no-compromise option.
I can't see Apple not releasing a Plus version of the XI (or whatever) next year. I think they just needed to get an "anniversary" device out the door quickly.

Notice that since the X has a narrower screen, although it looks like there is a lot more screen, you still have the same amount of content displayed since you can fit more text per line on the Plus due to the wider screen. You also get a lot bigger video in landscape if using a standard 16x9 ratio on the Plus.
Arghh I see it, kinda guess it depends what you consider to be significant or not. To me personally it seems to be close enough to consider them having roughly the same battery life in real-world use. I am coming from an SE though so it's gonna be a big jump regardless of which phone I upgrade to.
Wow. Well it's certainly going to be easier to handle with one hand looking at that photo. I just hope the slightly smaller usable screen from the Plus doesn't bother me.
