I had my doubts when people said that the white bezel would be distracting, but wow.. this thing is beautiful. And for me at least, the white isn't distracting at all! I think it's personal preference

I had a white iPhone 4 and white iPad 2.

Sold both and bought a black 4S and iPad 3. Much nicer for watching movies and viewing photos as the white border is distracting. At least the black bezels blend in with the letterbox view for movies.

No colour makes it 'better' though ... It's the same thing just a different colour.

That and in the Uk waltzing around hugging white iOS devices makes you look like a bit of a fairy.

The white iDevices simply look amazing. I had the black iPhone z4 and decided for a change when I got the iPhone 4S and thus far I have no reason to go back

I don't mind the white border at all.

It seems very a.d.d. to keep looking at the border when you should be looking at the video etc. It's not like it's moving. Also, when watching a video or movie I tend to have my lights dim so the white isn't as light.

Title of the thread is "Is the white better than the black?"

It became this thread, I was wanting to find out why most stores sold out of whites, while most places still have all blacks in stock. And then people jumped on it, I have no complaints I love reading the comments, it makes my 16GB black one feel better.

Lol, similar thing happened in the "yellow tint" thread. The OP was trolling with a picture of the iPad 2. It now has several pages about people talking seriously about iPad 3 yellow tint.

I like them both :D

I got a different color this time and its eaiser to spot the older iPad 2

Just to clarify, it's not a matter of "ADD" but rather a matter of visual perception ... by most brains. It's well known that the surrounding colors influence perception of the center subject.

I ended up with a white iPad 2, and I have a sneaking suspicion that it influenced/enhanced my perception of the warm yellowness of that particular display. Heh.

I have a black iPhone and a black iPad. Wife has a white iPhone and a white iPad. I think both look nice, but I prefer the more subdued black color scheme.

Sorry but I do not agree. Two of my friends have white iPads and one even a white iPhone. They look nasty. Dirt or body oils in the sides where it is hard to clean. I am sure my black iPhone and iPads got a little dirt hiding somewhere but you can see it.

White does show this dirt where black hides it. As far as finger prints, no OCD here. I wipe my screen down with a microfiber cloth every once in a while and enjoy my device.

Not really sure what you mean, it's all a sheet of glass, there's nowhere for oils to get into the side? Eh whatever though, the white iPad hasn't failed me yet so I doubt the new one will.

First white iPad this time around, will definitely not be my last.
I always assumed the white bezel would become distracting but it really doesn't.

My white iPhone still looks like new and I'm not so concerned with fingerprints every day anymore. The same goes for my new iPad.

Sorry but I do not agree. My iPad 1 and iPad 2 were black and my iPhone 4 is black. I got a white iPad 3 to mix it up. It looks a lot cleaner and far less greasy that any of my black devices.

The white will fade and discolor over time. Besides, everyone and their mother has either a white iPhone or a white iPad. It's becoming highly overrated.

Wrong. The white is under the glass. There will absolutely be no yellowing.

I chose white simply because after 2 black iPads I wanted something different.

I agree.... only I ended up getting a black iPhone 4S and wish it was white instead. Contrary to the distracting point of view, to me the white iPad is just more "inviting" for lack of a better word.

I had a white iPad 2 and have a white iPhone 4s. I think the white looks better on the phones for some reason, and the black looks better on the iPad. My white iPad looked a little "off" after awhile. I don't really know how to explain it.

You do not know what you are talking about.

My first iPod was white (2nd gen click wheel) and first Mac was a white MacBook so I tend to equate white idevices with Apple so I always prefer white. I didn't have the choice with the iPad 1, but both iPad 2 and new iPad are white.

I am getting an iPad to use it mainly as a reader of websites and sheet musics. I keep thinking how it would look on a piano. I think white looks less like a gadget or a tool. And less geeky.
