I'm not sure that I agree. If "It's well known that the surrounding colors influence perception of the center subject." I missed out on that. Can you give me a link for that info?
The white border disappears when I watch a movie or video. Are you telling me that I'm an exception to the rule? I don't believe that.
Can you elaborate? Because iPad 2 had white and black colors as well.
Black absorbs light.
White reflects light.
Light =heat
White = less light absorption = lower temperatures
I have seen pictures of white and black iPads showing the same photo and, at least to me, the black bezel does a better job. Here is what I am talking about. http://www.richardpeters.co.uk/blog/2012/03/16/ipad-3-retina-display-review-for-photographers/
Obviously the black one will run faster!
Ahh.. I'm only kidding![]()
there's a reason they don't make white TVs
Southernboy
With a name like that im not surprised
Im only kidding
People bring this up often as a reason why the black iPad is better. But back in the day, television sets used to be fringed in wood, or faux wood, or all sorts of colors in plastic (white, olive, and orange especially). Black bezels are used today primarily for aesthetic reasons, nothing else.
There is no "best" color for the iPad. If you like the black bezel, get black. If you like white, get white. It's that simple.
