waiting for your news :)
So I went there like 10 minutes earlier than my original appointment, and as I came in. The apple guy pointed me to my technician and he was so friendly and nice. Really cool also, we talked about MacRumors lol. Gave me my new phone and said yea the notes said we were gonna do a replacement and I'm not sure why the other guy said no (2nd one I saw). He says the yellow is normal but the pink to blue pixel is not. So i was out before my actual appointment was. Just depends on the guy you get. I got lucky 2/3 times :)

Apple chat has now reccomended me Express replacement service.

"With Express Replacement Service, we will send a you a new iPhone replacement which you'll receive within 2-3 business days but please know that you need to provide a credit card information for the Authorization Hold. This is for your new iPhone and is not an actual charge. Furthermore, for it to automatically be removed from your credit card account, you should return your old iPhone to us using the same box you've received within 10 business days from the time you received the replacement iPhone."

  • If you do get a new replacement check it at the store before you leave :(

Funny, I guess every other phone manufacturer on the planet can make a screen that isn't yellow/uneven but Apple can't figure it out.

wait...even worse??? the pink gets more obvious?

I bet: if I show my screen to someone else...he would say: I can't see any problems :-/

My husband had a look and said: you are crazy!

As I am within the 14 days, I could return my phone and get a new one. But: what problems may occur with that phone. Even worse screen...

yeah maybe..
I will accompany my friend to by his iPhone7 tomorrow, and I will have a try to show it to the technician. If they also say that they don't see it, I will give up. Because I don't want to see the manager...cause she told me that she could arrange the replacement but can't keep replacing for me until I found a perfect one.

Why are you doing replacements at the apple store? Order from the online store. Put it on a credit card. Keep returning till you get one you like. May take a while. I went through 4 phones like this (2 in store). It's much easier to do it online. No one questions you. You just click a button, print out a label, select a pick up date, and leave the thing in your 'safe place' to be picked up. You don't even have to talk to anyone. Apple refunds you within a week. You can also order 2 at a time if you do it this way. That will speed up the time it takes to find one that satisfies you.

As far as I can tell, most people can't see these problems that we see. If they could, lots of people would be complaining, and this would have gotten some major press coverage. I suspect there is some small percentage of the population who have more sensitive color receptors in their eyes or something. It is true that there are variations between people in color sensitivity. There are even some people with an extra cone type who can see colors no one else can. I suspect we are people with usual eyes that are more sensitive to color differences than most people. For example, my wife claims she can't see the issues I see with screens in general. She could not see the yellow at the bottom of the iphone screens I was returning and thought I was being OCD.

It's hard for people with different eyes to understand how it looks to us.

Yep, that's exactely what my husband is saying, pendragon1984.

He cannot see slight differences between left and right side and also no slight shadows (as my 6 has).

This is very interesting. I wish there was some way to find out if my hypothesis is true. You and your husband should take this test: http://www.xrite.com/hue-test

The best score is a zero (meaning zero mistakes). That's what I get.

My score is zero! Wow this is interesting. I did not have any diufficulties and it only took me few minutes.

My husband is still at work...I'll show hin this evening!

P.S. are you German?

No, I'm not German. Why?

I have no idea if that test will work to differentiate people who notice the problems from those who can't. But it's worth testing to see! I'll ask my wife to take it when she gets home.

Can you tell me how Express Replacement Service works? How am i supposed to receive my new device and ship my current one in 10 business days from yesterday? I feel like that's a tight turnaround and the late fee is way more expensive, i rather just like break my device and pay 99 bucks for a new screen because of apple care. And oh my applecare+ didnt even transfer, how am i supposed to do that?

Because I bought it with a t-mobile contract, also with a discount. So I can't return my iPhone. and I can't replace it online because I bought it in the store.(no credit card, either..)

so the store way is the only way...

Until Apple catches on and makes returning phones a hassle.

apple will send the problem devices to the factory for a refund, maybe. because I heard that at some period apple sent 200 thousands back for the reparation.

This year iphone looks like using different kinda polarized glass. The viewing angle is actually worse than 6s. Lcd screen is better but not the glass.

I got an lesson that NEVER buy a iPhone or iPad in the beginning. Just wait for half a year, when the factory does not have to rush.

I got a 6s last year the first month, great phone. The 7 I got 11 days ago, great phone.
:( my bad luck. iPad Air first month uneven. rmbp 15early first month uneven, iPhone6 half year good except to slight yellow, iPhone7 first month uneven. :(:(:(:(

So I went to the Apple Store, and I have opened 2 different 7 pluses. They are ALL yellow compared to my 6s plus, which was already slightly warmer compared to my 6 plus. But the 7 plus: I can't even call this warm. It's just yellow. On ALL display models in store and out of the box.

And the thing is, they all have different variations. One was consistently yellow all over, but pretty dark. One was lighter, -'d almost ok on the top 40% of the screen, but got darker at the bottom. One store display model was yellow with a green tint.

So you can clamor all you want about white point. I don't doubt its different. But if it is, it should not vary so much from phone to phone. That is the same manufacturing problem with the screen maker we see every year.

Was the 7 plus supposed to be brighter too? Because that is objectively not the case compared to the 6s plus. Definitely dimmer
