i never used a case or something with the original iPad, and one year later it was in mint condition. same to iPad 2, i have 2 months using it totally naked and its perfect, the thing its pretty much scratch resistant. more than i tought.

just be careful about dents. otherwise naked you'll be fine

Mine is naked but I have all the tiny scratches on the bottom(very small)

Happy to say mine is completely scratch free - front and rear.
Its kept in a soft felt case when not in use and it's done a great job of protecting it, especially carried around inside other bags.

the fronts of both my iPads are totally scratch free. the backs do have scratches and I dont even care, to me it adds character to the device :)

mine is still as it was when i bought it brand new, it does have one little niggle on the bottom, which its had ever since i bought it, but it's not even noticeable unless you know it's there.

My iPad 1 is stll in straight out of the box condition. Granted I've had either an Apple Case or Bekin Grip Vue on it, but the screen and everything is in perfect condition. It's in such nice shape, I love it.

I just learned to except the scratches and dings on mine because im a teenage boy with curious friends. As long as the screen is okay im okay:) invisibleSHIELD on the screen:))

i put a screen protector on and took it off only to find scratches... so much for 3.99 screen protectors.. thanks alot ebay. LOL

Screen protector to prevent scratches on the screen from my cute dog's paw.

Full back body skin to keep scratches out.

Tho I think sooner or later it'll get some sorta damage, that is if you use the iPad a couple hours a day at least.

Everyone's keeping their ipad in cases. How come my ipad is at least 1 year old, never used a case or a shield and I don't have a scratch, not on the glass and not on the back.

But a trick I use, i always place the ipad face down on something soft. Because the back is easier to scratch. It seems it worked so far.

Do u keep your iPad at home or does it travel with you?

Well, I didn't mentioned I bought a soft case from the apple store when I bought the ipad. If I take the ipad out of the house, I will keep it in that soft case. But that's very rare, less that 0.1% of the time I use the ipad, and I have to take the ipad out if I wanna use it because it's a completely closed case (yeah it was a stupid decision that case and was expensive too)

I had some scratches you could see from a certain angle but one nick on the aluminum on the front which my eyes always wandered to. But I had the 3 year protection plan from best buy and got a new one when I noticed there was back light bleeding going on. New one is flawless because it never leaves the house now that I got an iPhone. Plus I got the belkin clear case for the back and smart cover for the front.
