Mine has got 2 dents in it from it falling it off the bed and landing on some glasses. Got a little scratch as well but not really noticeable.

Mine looks like I just took it out of the box, and I got it in May. Of course, all my gadgets look and run like new. Damn this OCD.

I have a scratch. I immediately went out and bought a Crystal Film protector. Don't even notice the scratch anymore. Happened a while ago now.

My screen is scratch-free... and I'm the second owner. My son gave it to me when he bought a 64GB model.

I clean mine with a microfiber cloth when there are tooo many fingerprints!!

Mine is probably too new to be posting, but I cannot see mine getting scratched.

I have it in a decent case, the only things that will touch the screen are my fingers and a micro fiber cloth.

It's not like I am gonna stick the thing in my pocket with my keys and change like I did with my iPhone!

I have had my iPad for about 3 months and I have had a wrapsol on the front and back but now I have a Portenzo case and wrapsol on front

Got mine on April 3rd and use it several hours a day. It stays in the Apple case and has no screen protector. It's been out of the case maybe 5x at the most. Once was today to look at the back. :)

The thing looks brand new, front and back. Obviously, the Apple case does a fine job of protecting the unit.

Mine is scratchless both front and back except for the 3G black strip...both corners chipped off and I have no idea how. It has never been dropped and there is no other sign of wear or damage. It's weird and pisses me off because it's going to impact resell value.

Have had the ipad for 10 months now and not a scratch at all on the screen. A small area on the back is a little scuffed under the right lighting, right where it touches a table it's resting on. Other than that, perfect condition. Lucky enough not to have dropped it. It never leaves the house though.

Mine is scratchless. I have had it in case since day 1 but right now I am sitting with it with no coveron. I am starting to take t out of the cover when sitting at home in the couch and just be careful.

One side of the black strip has cracked on mine, just like yours in the top pic but the piece is still there.

Happened right about the time it started getting very cold here. I thought maybe it was due to the changes in temperature I put it through.

Although I have a case on it now, the first few months after I got it, I used it naked. As guess what? Still looks like it just came out of the box :)

I'd take it to an Apple store and see if they will fix it for free. They often do things like this, even outside of warranty.

Mine looks perfect but there ARE scratches on the plastic back shell I bought on Day 1. So it was a smart investment.

I later bought a zippered bag with two pockets. This was just the right size and allows me to slip the iPad into the bigger pocket, and my folding stand into the smaller pocket. The double-pocket configuration keeps the folding stand from scarring the iPad.

My only initial complaint was that it did not come with a strap, just a grab loop handle. Eventually I figured out that I could slip the strap on my "man purse" through the grab loop, and that solved the problem; now the two are together and can easily be carried over my shoulder using the one strap.

I feel quite pleased with my choice, as it turned out to work very well for schlepping it around. This was not in the iPad section of the tech store I was in, but in another area. The several limited choices I saw for the iPad just didn't meet my needs.
