I started this site when the Canadian rumors first started and then got busy!...

Maybe its time to persue it...

great...but where are all the songs??

Number of songs: USA / CAN (searched through iTMS)

ummm.......weak

I'd still rather have a slow start now than have a strong start later.

I listened again to my P2P-downloaded copy of Aéro... and finally decided to only buy 3 tracks.

Full CD at amazon.ca: 30$CAN
My personnal choice of three tracks from iTMS: 3$CAN

I then deleted my P2P-downloaded copy, since I decided not to buy the other tracks.

Yes, the whole album was only 10$CAN. But now I can go and pick seven more tracks from more CDs...

This is fun! :D

i wouldnt be complaining if I were you :D

the less the better

:D :D

I'm sure we'll see the selection ramp up as the weeks go by.
good point about no francophone section though...

Note:

Any problems with lack of content lie entirely at the feet of the Canadian musicians/negotiators- NOT Apple, since Apple has clearly demonstrated its ability to work with idiots and actually produce results.

QUESTION:
Does anbody know if we can ask the "boys above" to add albums? I found an album I really want on the US site, but not the Canadian....Is it possible? Or do we just hope for it, and see what happens?

Duff-Man says...you can certainly ask and suggest...but if you read the post right above yours you'll see someone has rightly said that it is not always in Apple's hands...different country means different record companies and contracts involved (this must have been said a thousand times by now)...oh yeah!

While I live in Canada now, I've been buying/downloading music from the U.S. store since I still carry a U.S.-based credit card.

Any idea what will happen if I change my credit card to a Canadian one? Do I lose my music or the ability to purchase from the U.S.?

Interesting to see that Sarah, who is prominently featured on the front page of iTMS Canada, is listed with Afterglow Live as having 18 tracks versus the U.S.'s 15 track album (Fear, Possession, Fumbling Towards Ecstacy) for C$9.99.

Been a while since we've seen the dollar swing our way...

iTMS Mexico when???

All right, so Canada now has an iTMS, but we're left in the cold! is there ANY respect left for the bloody NAFTA ???

Well, i guess natives will keep buying $.99 usd pirate albums...

Way to go F. record companies !!!

...right....I understand that.... but is there a way to ask/suggest new albums? Any high power that can be contacted?

Woo Hoo

Well I just purchased my first album off iTunes Canada. I like how the Hip and other Canadian acts are being featured on the main page. and aren't simply added as an afterthought. Now I'll just have to keep the spending in check.

For Canadian U2 fans...

Something cool for Canadian U2 fans... if you go to the Complete U2 collection, all the songs that used to be "Album only" on the US site can now be purchased individually from the Canadian site! This is awesome for fans like myself that already have all the albums and just wanted the rare & unreleased stuff!

Sort of makes up for the delay! :D I'm assuming it's an unintentional glitch, so I don't know how long it'll last, but I know it works now because I just tried it.

Also, go to the main U2 page in Canada, and see 1-10 albums showing.

Go to the same page in USA iTMS, and see albums 1-23.

And yet the complete U2 is obviously there, so whats the deal...

the american store has more tracks by my fave rock band the guess who (local band) than the canadian store.. we'll just have to wait a few months.. but ABOUT TIME

I wait and I wait and they finally bring the store!

But now the darn thing won't even accept my Mastercard information, it says the security number is wrong, but I have typed it in 8000 times correctly!!

I found this weird.. an album that seems to only have one track that sells for 9.99, yet the song on its own is .99

99c is an awesome price
