Remember, the original rumor was for it to open Nov. 26. That's a Friday. Hasn't Apple had a few other music events on Fridays? I believe the Nov. 26 date is correct.

Well, to my knowledge Apple only had releases on tuesdays. Guess I was wrong.

And the original rumor is still only that, a rumor (even if we do have confirmation for november, we have no confirmation for the 26th).

Oh well, 16 days to go...

?turkey day?

Just something I noticed while putting the date of November 26 into my day planner...

Why do it on a Friday? The 23rd is the traditional "new realease" Tuesday, while Thursday is American Thanksgiving, so would they really release it on the day after Turkey day?

I seem to remember Panther coming out on a Friday, but otherwise is this likely?

You have got to be kidding me! What difference does it make if it's near a holiday in the U.S. IT'S A CANADIAN RELEASE! turkey day has come and gone.

you think something happening on Victoria Day affects what happens south of the border. HA!

"He is Vigo! You are like the buzzing of flies to him!"

So anyway, I'm just saying that if Steve or someone high up is going to make this announcement, their holiday plans and if Apple employees are at work might figure into that. I don't think that our holidays have any effect on them except increased border traffic, but if they want the press for their ever-expanding music store, they would be smart to do it when people will notice.

Further to questions as to whether Apple would have a music event on a Friday, remember that Apple had a major music in-store event featuring a 10% discount on all music-related products on Friday, November 28, 2003.

Ok dude, I'm not trying to rip you up, so please understand that this is meant to be kind, but nonetheless correcting.

The word "people" does not imply in any way, shape, or form "only people from the US," nor does the word "press" imply "only US press." To everyone aside from investors (who aren't even going to notice this on their radar screen in any significant way), this is completely irrelevant to the US market, to the US press, and realistically to the US population. The only people Apple would be concerned about would be the Canadian market, and--aside from some silly comic strips in the paper--very few of us Canucks would even notice that the US thanksgiving was going on.

Once again, although I disagree with you, I do so with respect.

Peace,

David

Point taken, no harm done. When it all comes down to it I just can't wait until that darn Music Store comes out here in Canada.

Peace out.

Of course not, don't be silly. I was referring to the black DP 3.0 GHz G5 PowerBook...

Cool, I'll take one! :D

Although, you do realize there is currently rumors that the next powerbook's shell will be black carbon fiber, right?

2004-11-20 and the iTMS is going in circles again

"The iTunes Music Store is not available in your country yet.

You will be able to browse music and listen to previews, but you won't be able to purchase music. To browse a music store, click here. ->"

Okay....

"Austria, Belgium, Deutschland, Finland, France, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom, United States"

Okay then, "United States" (closest one, still)

"iTunes Music Store"

What the...

"The iTunes Music Store is not available in your country yet.

You will be able to browse music and listen to previews, but you won't be able to purchase music. To browse a music store, click here. ->"

I'm stuck in an endless loop! Help me!

Maybe it means iTMS Canada today or tomorrow, eh?

Oh, I'm well aware of that - that's partially why I threw that in, but then thought it necessary to include the DP 3.0 GHz procs as well...

Sorry, but I think that is really dreaming. The 3.0 GHz will be on the Power Mac first. PowerBooks will have a long wait, even for the G5.

Apple recently hasn't been only releasing on Tuesdays. I think that it's a tactic to keep us on our toes.

So a Friday iTMS in Canada sounds good to me.

Speaking of Future Shop...

They have created their own Apple Store, in too much haste I think.

<http://www.futureshop.ca/marketing/vendor_apple/staticPC.asp?PCName=Vendor_apple_Main&logon=&langid=EN&dept=0&WLBS=fsweb24>

Their link to the iMac is all about the shaving mirror iMac and how new and revolutionary it is.
Me thinks they are just padding an ipod store to make it look like an Apple store but all they have for sale are ipods!

Change in Irish iTunes message

Zaty said:
I hope it's true, it would be great if Apple finally starts bringing iTMS to more than four countries. I wonder what's happening in Europe as rumours mills have been quiet for some time now, which is surprising as it's October 12 already and the opening of the pan-European store should be imminent. There's to hoping...

In Ireland, we're once again today getting the changed iTunes Store "not in your country" message that preceded the European launch. You may recall that all the countries involved in that launch experienced a sudden re-route to the "Choose Store" page with the flag buttons, and inclusion in the Music Store followed a few days afterwards - but that the Irish store was dropped at the last minute due to alleged copyright problems.

Well, the re-route came back in Ireland today, together with a redesigned "not available in your country yet" page. Anyone in Canada getting the same signals?

You of course realize I was joking, right? DP (not even SP) 3.0 GHz PowerBook?! No offense but I'm surprised anyone could take that seriously.... ;) As you should know from the other threads, I am a big proponent of no dual-core G4 / G5 PowerBooks for quite some time.

You were joking? I really did hear that the price would drop with the new DP Black G5 Powerbooks. Huh. Whatever. Well, anyway, I hope that the iTunes store is out by next Christmas.
