Oh yeah it's running 'fine' but the complaints that people had during the beta - that were quickly dismissed as 'beta' bugs - are now still there.
Unlock your phone and try to swipe before the animation ends. you can't.
That's one.

That may not be a bug.

Let the apple fanboys cheerlead for an os update while for years they bashed android for being buggy. Maybe one day they'll wake up. I was one of the main ones they attacked for saying this will be buggy at release, and I'm pleased to see that I was right.

.0 releases are always buggy.

I don't disagree with what you both are saying, but you should go back to those threads and call them out. A new thread with no specifics seems to me like it will start arguments than anything else. It sounds like you were trolled by other posters and go back and call them out on it. Gloat. :)

Oh and a friendly reminder: IOS 7 is still Pre-Release right now which means if you bring it in for Service with IOS 7 on it you will Void your 1 Year Warranty!

I took mine into an Apple store before the GM was released and they didn't say a word.

Based on iOS history, all first versions of an iOS look and feel like a beta. There is always something to fix.

IDK if what you are complying can be considered a bug, more like a bad choice.

yup, a choice that people were complaining about - but was widely dismissed by other people who said - it's just a beta

No, they are usually rock solid. Unless you are going by ios6, which only had programs that felt like a (horrible) beta, like that maps program.

Where are all the internet janitors who used to insist in threads to not talk about bugs because 'it's a beta'....
well it's the GM now and what?? you still can't swipe until after the animations are done??? what? frame rates are still choppy on the iPad?
What's spring board still crashes on the ipad???

where are you now janitors!??

We'd seen the exact same thing happen with iOS 6 Maps.

Guess what, Apple trolls these boards...the more people complain about one thing, the more they know they've got to fix it!

It's runing great for me sir...

Try again

I've been with iOS since iOS 1 (iPod touch)
and I feel like every x.0 iOS release had been rock solid. Up until iOS 6.

people always complain about every single thing apple does so it's not really a big deal until it's released into the main public, like it happened w/ maps.

No, they are never rock solid on an iOS X.00. They have always needed an update few weeks or even days after release.

ios6 was still rock solid, it's just the horrible additions like Apple Maps that kinda soiled it...

Honestly I found Apple maps kinda funny. I zoomed in on Manhattan and it looked like a post apocalyptic area (I believe it still does lol).

nah mate, stability wise - iOS 6 was not up to par with iOS 4 and 5's GM.

It's amazing to me that iOS6 took so long to release. There were hardly any big changes at all. The two big announcements were Apple Maps (which was, and still is, crap) and Passbook. Two apps. And does anyone ever use Passbook?

Fixed your post.

lol, any first version of any software is a beta in this day & age.
Now, I can't even play a new console game w/out having to download a patch the day of release. Hell, the new consoles like the Wii U and also the Xbox One have a first day patch before you can even start playing games.

Very true.

As a non-janitor, I can say the following with a straight face:

  • Swiping before animations is clearly not a bug; it's just the way it works now. If you don't like it, Apple has a contact form. FWIW, I don't like it either. Not a show stopper for me, though.
  • Frame rate appears fine on my iPad.
  • No screen board crashes after nearly 24 hours on my iPad.

You probably have some points, but the sky isn't falling. As others have noted, the GM on a new OS is usually unrefined compared to the previous version's most refined .x.x release.

Try again what...

I'm confused by the logical fallacy you just threw out there. Working fine for you != working fine for everyone else.

The logical fallacy is 2 ways. Not working well for you =/= not working well for anybody else. So yes.... IT WAS A BETA.

Android 4.1 and 4.2 have been ridiculously stable.

Cept it's working fine for me too, so, therefore it is goods

Having had the pleasure of owning the first iPhone back in 2007 (and every iPhone since then). I have to say that version 1.0 of iPhone OS as it was known back then was by far the least buggy. Leagues better than iOS 6.0, and iOS 3.0.

No i am saying that those third parties may have altered the download by adding malicious code to the IOS 7 GM Seed.
Really? Is that even possible with Apple verifying the install whenever you install it? I'd love to see more information about something like this actually being possible, because everything points to it not being possible, and thus not really being a concern.

Software isn't perfect
Apple isn't perfect

End of story.
Don't think that's really the point of this thread, the point is that tons of people would try to dismiss and essentially derail threads about issues with simple "it's a beta" posts without anything useful, and/or "it'll be fine in GM". Well, now that there are still issues in the GM (as expected, and as is often the case when it comes to any software), what exactly do those people have to say for themselves? Pretty much nothing, since all their "it's a beta" posts were pretty useless back then as they appear to be now looking back at them.

Trying to get your point. Did I say it wasn't working well for anyone else?

I believe you're the one with the "try again" comment as to dismiss his observation because it's working well for you.

Also what are you getting at with your beta comment? The GM isn't a beta.

It would seem to imply that the GM is more of beta quality still (rather than release quality as it normally should be).
