yup, a choice that people were complaining about - but was widely dismissed by other people who said - it's just a beta

I don't recall anyone saying the swipe to unlock slow animation was a beta bug. Some said it might speed up but it was never deemed a bug.

Where are all the internet janitors who used to insist in threads to not talk about bugs because 'it's a beta'....
well it's the GM now and what?? you still can't swipe until after the animations are done??? what? frame rates are still choppy on the iPad?
What's spring board still crashes on the ipad???

where are you now janitors!??

We'd seen the exact same thing happen with iOS 6 Maps.

Guess what, Apple trolls these boards...the more people complain about one thing, the more they know they've got to fix it!

Animation transition length is by design, not a bug. Just cos you don't like it doesn't make it a bug.

Got GM running on the family's iOS devices, that's 2 iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPad 2 & 4 and mini. No issues at all.

It's not ready. "It's a beta" was an excuse during beta period, it is no more. Expecting GM to somehow miraculously solve all beta problems, as MANY forum dwellers here did, is foolish and irrelevant.

Trying to get your point. Did I say it wasn't working well for anyone else?

I believe you're the one with the "try again" comment as to dismiss his observation because it's working well for you.

Also what are you getting at with your beta comment? The GM isn't a beta.

All right, lets be a bit more clear what i meant by try again.
You are clearly having issues with your iOS 7 which are likely software issues. Turns out it helps to do a manifacture reset and reinstall the iOS. And if you are talking about animation speed, that is not a bug.

And I never said GM is a beta. What I said is, it was a beta! Meaning when people were moaning about the iOS 7 having lots of bugs and not working very well, it was quite OK to be pointed out to them that it is a freaking beta and bugs are expected. Bugs are even expected on GM!

my point was there were clear design choices that were backwards from iOS 6.
That swiping issue is one. You could do that on iOS 6, not anymore!

Another issue: songs in artists are not subdivided by album.. So if you have the Beatles in your iPhone and you wanted to get to the Revolver album.......scrolllllllll

"don't worry it's a beta...shut up"

Guess what, it's not beta anymore, and it didnt change. All I'm saying is, next time, instead of shutting people down and being a do-gooder, just because it's a beta - because EVERYONE already knows it is - why dont you just dont comment, move on and let the word of complaint be heard and elevate so that it may raise enough noise to get it fixed/altered???

Oh and a friendly reminder: IOS 7 is still Pre-Release right now which means if you bring it in for Service with IOS 7 on it you will Void your 1 Year Warranty!

Why would you even say something like that? Apple released iOS 7. Why would they "punish" you for having it installed?

It is NOT a Beta. next time try NOT to jump the gun by downloading from a Third Party Website and Wait for the Official Release. it's running just nice here.

I downloaded from a 3rd party website and it's working perfectly fine. But, maybe these people inserted some malicious bug fixes during the 45 minute period after its official release. In fact, maybe people should've downloaded their copy from 3rd parties instead of Apple.

Who inserted what and where? Is that something that's even possible?

Oh yes, and those bugs will all be fixed up in 6 days :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

C DM,

When I read replies by you your voice in my head sounds like a calm collected guy with more of a serious tone but your comment above made me crack up.

I "heard" it like a abbott and costello skit.

I'm going to have to go with an actual "LOL" as a reply to that. :D

At the end of the day, you need to realize that Apple did not release any of the betas or GM's for you to test. This sort of software is released to DEVELOPERS who are developing applications for use with the OS. It's purpose is for DEVELOPERS to make sure that their applications will be ready when the actual software goes live.

Stop your whining and stop trying to play developer, like "oh look at me I have iOS 7 I'm a developer". This is the problem, this is why the "janitors" ever had to speak up.

No one here really knows how Apple's development process works. We don't know what kind of branching system they have, whether betas are purely for developers to preview APIs, if all other bug fixes are done on separate branches, how often these fixes are merged in to beta branches, etc. etc. ... so many strategies that we have no idea about.

It wasn't unreasonable to ask others to be patient during the beta process. No one can justifiably say "I told you so" about bugs not being fixed in the GM. It was anybody's guess.

Anybody who has programmed could tell you 2-3 months was not long enough to fix the bugs that ios7 had and it's gonna be a very buggy launch. Just like people were saying about Apple Maps. But people here don't want to hear any of that.

All kinds of bugs were getting fixed way before the beta period. It didn't seem like there was too much that was significant there during the beta period either.

The whole Apple Maps thing for the most part is more of data issue rather than a software issue.

When has an x.0 release of iOS ever been perfect?

...

...

*crickets*

...

Yeah, that's what I thought.

I don't know why there is so much more bitching than usual this time. But I've never come across a x.0 release that doesn't have a few minor problems. If you don't want to deal with them, DON'T UPGRADE TO A NEW MAJOR RELEASE UNTIL x.1 or x.2 COMES OUT!

This should be common sense, but... oh yeah, this is Macrumors. If ya'll were paid to whine you'd be millionaires.

I don't really mind if the software is a little bit buggy at first...

As long as they fix those bugs within a month. Otherwise it gets unacceptable.

Thank you. Thats a much better explanation, and I agree 100% on the animations.

I installed it fresh, and lately my phone has been rebooting when I swipe the messages to unlock (before putting in my passcode) :(

I think the biggest issue for a lot of individuals is that this is not what is expected from this company. The "it just works" mantra doesn't seem to hold anymore water, and has turned into "It works most of the time". On the flip side though, instead of coming onto these forums to say "I told you so", individuals would be better off just submitting the bugs (if they aren't already doing so).
